@@brozomicki-sothe307 early Awakening in Normal and Hard is easily solo’d by Robin and Chrom. On Lunatic/L+ is where Frederick becomes useful as Robin has a harder time snowballing in the early chapters.
The answer is yes, obviously: Robin alone can carry the game with their versatility, but it is always about the journey more than the destination, right?
I think the more interesting twist is trying to keep the other units from interacting with the enemy instead of just throwing them into the grinder to get killed.
It’s definitely the simplest. Optimal strat still heavily relies on robin. You just help them out a little bit with other units. You definitely need a bit of help for L+
I just started my first Awakening playthrough. Despite me being generally bad, Robin is absolutely carrying the team, every other unit can't kill and is really frail. Except Chrom

If you let robin deal the finishing blow, there IS actually a scene at the end where they find robin again, this time without the grima sign on their hand, suggesting that they managed to survive despite the miniscule chances
Chrobin solo is quite literally the most optimal way to beat Awakening if you don't care about training up a team. It's a game that doesn't have much recourse against juggernauting plowed through with one of the most broken units in the entire series. Still fun though.
the challenge here is more just not allowing your extra units to participate in battle or be attacked. but that's more just the early games problem, everything after that is just fodder for the Chrom Robin meat grinder.
Awakening specifically encourages using few units anyway because of how broken pair up and Robin's skills are in this game, so this isn't that difficult of a challenge, but still love to see FE content.
"You may have noticed Kellam" No, actually I didnt. I remember the first time I played that mission I immediatly forgot about him and then he got ignored for the rest of the mission. Also thanks for reminding that Grima could have easily won the final battle if it decided to do a barrel roll.
first time playing the game i straight up did not try to recruit that seemingly random green knight on that mission and thus went through the my whole first playthrough wondering why i never got a knight character until the future kids and wondering who that greyed out knight was in the support logs
@@ZorotheGallade was I the only person that actually tried to talk to him? It seemed obvious because there's no other reason for a named green unit to be there.
If you let Robin deal the final blow, the literal power of friendship revives them after the credits where it's implied they lived the rest of their days happy as can be.
As an avid Awakening Player I have a funnier challenge: Can you beat this game with only Donnel? (Or maybe, Virion, the base game archer with blue hair.) Chrom and Robin are known as some of the most broken characters of all Fire Emblem for a reason after all.
Well, as Panne put in in her support with Donnel: "I didn't know there was an Apex Predator amongst Shepherds". He really only needs to survive until a single promotion to Mercenary class to become a complete monster with nigh-infinite durability weapons who can and will solo entire maps
@@MultiDante333 Of course I know, but that's the exciting part! Is it even possible to make Donnel level up without using somebody else as his assist? (Like the Goat Kellam to buff his defense?)
Virion definitely seems the more interesting challenge, although I think anyone in Awakening can snowball pretty hard, Donnel's growths means you just have to pass the opening hurdle.
When he was doing the chapter to recruit Morgan I had to remember how in my first playthrough I married Robin to Nowi and Morgan showed up for me as a Manakete with Ignis and Astra and the entire chapter just boiled down to Robin solo clearing one half of the map while Morgan just utterly anihilated the other half.
Legit, I thought it was so cool that Morgan could just straight up be a Manakete when I first played Awakening. Not only cause it's a rare class but also cause it felt fitting given the story.
My first play through, I paired with and ended up wedding Anna without knowing about the future generation. Morgan would cast ignis with such power and frequency that she auto-killed every enemy to so much as glance at her.
I have an obsession with maxing both parents stats and getting all class skills they are able to before going to get the kids so my main problem is getting 2nd seals to them before letting them rampage to avoid wasting exp >
I'd reclassed my Robin into an assassin and married Chrom. Morgan walked into the world with Lethality (auto kill) and True King (+15% skill trigger). Nothing survived him.
The "tutorial" chapter on lunatic difficulty is unironically the hardest chapter in the entire game on that difficulty I find. Other chapters do start to have more enemies, but you also by then have a couple level ups secured, as well as better terrain options to manipulate. That first mission in the market on Lunatic is astoundingly difficult. I don't know if that mission even is possible using just chrom and robin, because you really need to make use of everyone there just to survive the first turn. Additionally, if you make anything except Speed be your boon, you're almost guaranteed to game over infinitely because the enemies will all double you by default and, as you doubtless know by now, getting doubled when an enemy does almost, if not more than half of your HP in a single hit is... Not a recipe for a good time.
You have to take these things with a grain of salt but when the game was newer I seem to remember the online consensus was beating the first mission of lunatic without Frederick is a mathematical "nope". You need his damage and bulk, otherwise the enemies on the map are going to Numbers Chrom or Robin to death, and that's the end of it right there.
@@Kazmahu You need Frederick's bulk, you need to specifically feed some levels to Robin so they can outspeed and not get doubled, you need the right boons, you need Lissa's healing because the vulneraries just aren't enough... And you need a healthy dose of luck because the boss can crit and just end it right there immediately. It's very, very difficult.
The easiest way on lunatic is using a Defense Boon Robin so that you have higher bulk for many brutal chapters. However, lunatic+ adds more random skills that makes things more strict with Robin. However, Defense and Speed Boons are possible to get through the hard parts of Lunatic+. I’ve done both before.
They screwed up the lunatic difficulty real bad in there, they just inflated the enemy units 10 levels without any consideration. I believe they realized that, because in Fates they legit tuned it down and made it a lot smarter - especially conquest-. Yeah in Birthright you have lord lobster who will DELETE everything, but still. Also not to mention there is that infamous difficulty spike in the last few chapters but by then you are ready. Revelation? let's pretend it doesn't exist
@@DarkJ1425 it’s a noticiable difference between how they handled the higher difficulties in fates. There’s still some unfair challenges, but it’s not random and so you better plan for it. Lunatic+ Awakening is unplanned RNG that can cause some maps to be unbeatable if you’re unlucky.
Nyarly: "This is the final battle, so if you have any last-minute preparations to make, now is a good time" Me: "Ah yes, my last-minute maxing out all my favorite characters and clearing Apotheosis before worrying about the fell dragon, good times"
Honestly, recruiting any of the secret characters, ESPECIALLY Priam, Is not even worth the effort. It's not like you'll blitz through the game with some OP unit, they're only really useful In either the last battle or other secret missions.
I’m so glad your doing a Fire Emblem game. This series is what brought me to MegaTen! Awakening is pretty fun but also kinda broken, but I still enjoy coming back to this game.
Same here! I loved awakening and that caused me to try SMT 4 and that was the start of my SMT obsession. (Awakening is still my favorite FE game even after playing through most of the franchise)
So either A) It was close enough to Persona for Atlus’s series to catch your interest or B) Tokyo Mirage Sessions. I’m going to assume it was the former…although the latter makes sense too. I personally literally only gave it a chance with 3 Houses and absolutely adored it, and then Persona 5 proceeded to catch my interest and hook me into the entirety of MegaTen pretty effectively.
@@dachking6657 Actually it was the game Devil Survivor that got me hooked. I like Fire Emblem and when I saw that another 3DS game had gameplay similar to it I decided to buy it (it was pretty cheap on the e shop).
@@andrewmanchiraju8005 Ah, that makes a lot of sense, too. I played the first one right after Persona 5, and if that got me to sign the contract, DS Overclocked made me shake Atlus’s hand afterwards.
Chrom and Robin are an insane power couple, every time I go back to play awakening even though theres lots of great handsome characters (Gauis, Lon'qu, Donnel ect) I always end up marrying Chrom becuase hoenstly thier connection feels the most genuine and it really does feel like they are a 'fated pair'
There's actually a fire emblem challenge I always wished to see: Can you beat Fire Emblem Fates with only captured units? (So villains that you spared)
@@ZorotheGallade considering you can beat Maddening Silver Snow with Byleth alone, I'd say the more the merrier because the biggest challenge Byleth faces is not being in two places at once
I do have to say. about the intro: Fire Emblem Awakening isn't really a controversial game. It's a well loved title that a lot of people view as having saved the franchise. Sure, it had some weird elements, like the whole "strategically marrying people so their kids will be stronger" thing and a few very one note characters, but those elements are a lot stronger in the far more controversial title: fire emblem fates
Awakening actually was pretty controversial among fans of the older games for a while because of the generally easier difficulty and the greater focus on dating sim elements. Fates just happened to come out later and exemplify those issues way, way more.
most of Awakening controversy comes from elitist older fans from earlier games who prefer the older gameplay style. Basically, fire emblem has its own version of genwunners from pokemon
Fates isn't really controversial though, it's just a vocal minority mostly on r*ddit who hate it. The majority of people who have actually played it, like it.
From what I’ve heard, most of the complaints revolved around how your dialogue choices don’t really matter, or more specifically, that it set the precedent of for Fates and Three Houses. Which is fair. Aside from that it is an absolute classic.
At the end when you say how the ended plans for a sequel: this was actually going to be the last fire emblem game ever made. Sales were way way down and they didn't thing the series was gonna keep going, so, this was gonna be the last one. And then it sold really fairly well, thus, saving fire emblem as we know it.
Not to mention that there IS a notable difference between the two endings - when Chrom lands the final blow, Robin's allies and family reassure them that they made the right choice and entrust the fate of the world to their descendants, while if Robin lands the final blow, their allies and family express their confidence that Robin isn't gonna be gone for long, and there's a cutscene where Chrom and Lissa find them lying in a field again, but this time they don't have the Fell Brand on their right hand lol
Sadly the 3DS eshop is closing down and there's mountains of content for all 3DS FE games locked behind DLC. Especially Fates where one main story path is locked behind DLC or if you were lucky to the get the physical special edition. Luckily hacking a 3DS has become incredibly easy.
Nope. He can easily get strong enough to solo most of the game, but you’re forced to use Robin and Chrom against Validar when they’re gated off in that one chapter.
@@ravenknight4195 that's not really true, plus how are you getting those level ups in a Donnel solo? I'd be surprised if you could even recruit Donnel in a Donnel solo
Fire Emblem: Awakening is honestly my second favorite game of all time. It's one of the games that really impacted me, and I love it to death. Having done both a Lunatic and Lunatic+ run, I can assure you that the first chapter is going to mess Chrom and Robin up with very little chance of success if you don't use Lissa and Frederick, so I completely understand sticking to Hard mode. Makes me wonder if I can beat the game with this challenge parameters, with the exception of the first chapter if necessary. Also, just for future reference in case you want to do harder challenges/difficulties with this game; You already know that Galeforce is the most broken skill in the game, so you've got that down, but (imo) a good contender for at least 2nd place would have to be Armsthrift. If you super boost your luck stat to max, and have luck as your boon- or at least not your bane, you can legit use the most powerful weapons in the game without ever worrying about them breaking. It may require you to pair up with someone, but in the case of this challenge, Chrom gives you an increase to your luck stat when paired with him, so you should be good to have a 100% Armsthrift chance on every attack. I always get Armsthrift on every unit I can, it's just that good. Also, don't forget to upgrade weapons if you can. It's expensive, but it's definitely worth it. Anyways, sorry for the paragraphs, I tend to get a bit passionate about this game, having played through it many times, and had some of the best gaming experiences with it.
This isn't even a challenge, Chrobin is that broken. We had to ban them from Draft races (Awakening Draft races are on HM as well) because they can easily solo the game. Edit: Lissa has a hard s, it's not pronounced like lisa. Also, Man got swordpilled and ignored the class that's so notoriously broken it's in a tier of its own
Hunting by Daybreak should not be underestimated. I've never seen Dimitri and Byleth solo the entire map yet. Considering where the other house units spawn, I'm not sure they would be able to avoid every enemy. Perhaps they can all reclass to Pegasus Knights/Wyvern Riders? Either way, that map by itself requires a lot of planning not to die, let alone stop interactions from the majority of the house.
@@samperez1727 oh, that infamous chapter. Yea, that's considered to be the hardest to solo with Dimitri and Byleth. Considering they are surrounded by enemies and Dimitri's class is set to high lord after the time skip with no way to change it... Yea it's a fucking doozy. Also mid way the fight, the rest of the blue lions and the students you've recruited join the fight and that complicates things even further. The only good thing is that the enemies can't fly and there aren't any mages.
@@Cynicalhamptur three houses is also quite easy to trivialize. I did a byleth/dimitri solo maddening once, and I honestly don’t even feel like I did anything impressive.
I'm gonna level with you, aside from the "other units aren't allowed to enter combat" stipulation causing problems with stuff like Ricken's chapter, this is just the optimal/easiest way to play Awakening considering how broken Robin is. Wouldn't even consider this a challenge run. A better challenge would be something like Lunatic No Grinding.
> Chrom doesn't seem too bothered by the fact that a complete stranger knows his name I mean, he *is* the heir presumptive to the kingdom of Ylisse, I feel like it has to be a fairly common occurrence for him
I’ve played awakening so much on lunatic to know that it is possible to solo this game with Chrom and Robin. However, I did gain some more respect with the restriction of not having any Allies see any action though. Even if it’s just getting attacked in the enemy phase, that is a reset. Really, the early to mid-game is the biggest hurdle to overcome. Once Second and Master Seals get thrown at you like candy, it gets easier outside of a few late game chapters. I would like to see you tackle more FE videos like this Nyarly in the future as a reoccurring side challenge.
3:20 If I recall correctly the tutorial map is literally impossible without Fredrick. In the newer games it's kind of a meme that the hardest difficulties aren't play tested at all. Lunatic+ difficulties tend to just pump up stats and throw annoying skills on enemies making them more stat bench marks than an actual strategically placed units.
these yt challenge runs have been going for so long that the challenge is to now play the game optimally lmao can't wait for the hour long video about whether or not you can beat birthright with only royals
Tfw you know Robin literally carries the hardest difficulty. And if you thought Lunatic was to hard, imagine Lunatic+ lol Still its cool to see you dipping into Fire Emblem!
I mean. Every character has amazing stats in Awakening no matter what, and having a high-level Chrom/Robin is a good idea anyway since either one of them dying makes for an instant game over. Not only that, but unless you restrict yourself to base classes, the two of them can fill just about any role. Make female Robin a staff-using flier, etc. Pair up is also busted. Basically the answer to the question of this challenge is a resounding "yes"
funniest thing about robin is you can do it with literally just him he has so many abilities he can learn it's unreal, and he activates them super often
before even watching the video i knew the answer was yes. Because once you get halfway through the game your kinda forced to rely on them if you dont wanna grind.
This comment is in regards to 40:40 , Cononically what happens is Robin is teleported to Corrin's world and fights Anonkos and is then sent back to Ylisse after Anonkos is destroyed, Robin doesn't die simply because Naga gives Robin the chance to redeem him/herself.

Speedruns of normal are essentially just robin chrom solo. Btw, it's possible to beat the entire game on lunatic using just chrom and Olivia after obtaining Olivia, with Olivia the only one attacking and chrom pair up bot
Video title: Is it possible? Comments section: Actually it’s optimal. Seriously though, yes it’s obviously very possible and easily one of the most broken starts in an FE game.
I recently beat Lunatic+/Casual after trying for years. To beat the first map on Lunatic optimally it is required to kill two specific troops with Fredrick under the best known route in the game. The rest can be safely given to Robin. Which ends with some rng whether you can kill the one mage up top while water walking with a Robin/Lissa pair-up. Though, the rest of the map has no rng that can kill using this path. Robin ends up at level 7 or slightly below that depending on the rng regarding critical hits and tiles giving experience or not.
A much harder (and more fun) challenge would be beating conquest on lunatic classic with no restrictions. They fixed Awakening's broken pair up system and the gameplay is leagues better. The story is god-awful - comically bad, at times - but it's still definitely worth a play if you want a hard but fair experience.
I kind of accidentally beat the game like this when I first got it. Young little kid me had no idea how to properly play a fire emblem game, so once the pair up feature was shown, it was constant robin and chrom pair ups. Robin would be in the front dealing all the damage, and chrom would be my support. By the time I got to the final boss, all my other troops (chrom included) were too weak and would get one shot by everything. Robin on the other hand, couldn’t take any damage, due to me class changing him like 5 times before the final boss. All his stats were basically maxed out as a dark knight, and he beat the game for me right there and then. Thanks to this though, none of the paralouges I had left, like the tiki one, were beatable due to only having one good defensive unit. Thinking back, this was a really fun and dumb way to play, but when I eventually did my second play though a few years later when I understood the game better after playing fates and echos, I was able to build up a lot more powerful units, and finally beat that tiki paralouge. Overall, beating the game like this, while satisfying to little me, is not something I would tell others to do, unless they’re just curious
Fire Emblem Awakening was my first fire emblem game I managed to finish. I also beat the game with Chrobin and had Robin deal the finishing blow. The ending had me in tears for the happy ending because Robin is still alive in the end, and my god Awakening has a special place in my heart. I've played other fire emblem games before this one, and I never gotten far enough in them to keep playing. I think literally the only reason I finished this one was because of Casual Mode. Sure I still reset and tried to keep units alive in Casual Mode so units would be evenly leveled but honestly it was exactly what the game needed for a casual like me to finish a fire emblem game. I also think this game has a special place in my heart is because the developers were told that would be the last fire emblem game they would get to make. So a lot of the dev teams put in everything they wanted to do into awakening and I think you can see the passion the devs had through the game. Nintendo was going to close down the studio after Awakening but because it sold high numbers, Nintendo back tracked and asked for more fire emblem games like awakening. And that's also why it has a special place in my heart too. Their passion and efforts were recognized and they got success from it, thus being able to make more fire emblem games and i can just ramble on and on so I'll stfu lmao
Perhaps you should do an ironman run, for people who don't know ironman run means not restarting the chapter when someone dies, so basically you have 1 chance and if a unit dies they are gone forever, they are actually quite fun to do and make you use units that otherwise you never would.
Thracia isnt that hard and it gives you so many units that losing some isnt that big a deal. really its only the early game to worry about cause thats when Leif is the most vulnerable and deaths would actually matter. Thracia gets hyped up as being super difficult but its actually on the easier end of the spectrum.
This was a fun watch! Chrobin clears are always a treat to watch haha. I'm super hyped to see FE content from you, so I hope you continue to make more videos on this series! :D How about a Corrin only solo in Conquest and a Alm/Celica run in Echoes? They would be interesting to watch!
2 nitpicks 1: Normal is the normal difficulty. It’s not a reskinned easy mode, it’s just as difficult as other games’ normal modes. 2: As of Awakening, you can press the X button to highlight the threat range of all enemies at once in purple, and still highlight certain enemies in red.
This question is kinda like “can I beat Sacred Stones with only Seth” and the answer with both is a resounding yes. In fact, it’s often much easier than just playing the game normally
When you said it took you like 20 minutes on that one map as a lot, it made me look at engage and realize how different things are now. On hard or maddning it can take you a whole hour to finish 1 map with a full team. Lol
I kind of want to see a Fates: Conquest challenge now. Though honestly I'd prefer to see it with "minimum characters" rather than solo. Since the pair up mechanics strategies are so interesting. Meaning you can only use the characters that are forced into the map.
@@liahknight56 You want to double check that? My unedited original comment that says "I'd prefer to see it [a challenge] with minimum characters rather than solo." Specifically stating not to do solo, and the reason as to why.

gonna sound like a piece of garbage here but seriously what was the point in this video? it's not even anything interesting, like a challenge run, you can literally just pair the two up and shred through the entire game. people have done this for years. glad to see i'm not the only one who is a little baffled that this video exists though.
I was legitimately surprised to see this video by Nyarly. But hey, it’s a welcome addition. Also the answer to the question, this isn’t just possible but it’s also the way to easily beat the game.
I mean Robin's busted beyond belief so I wouldn't be surprised if Robin solos at least lunatic Though probably not lunatic plus especially without pair up
I actually got so bored of playing the game the usual way on hard that I just started it again on lunatic, only using chrom and robin, and beat it in a couple of hours. Sorcerer female robin with nosferatu + bow knight chrom are just invincible.
One of my personal favorite strategies for this game is to, at some point, change Robin to a Trickster class (I’m pretty sure I have that class right) because they get a skill that, if it activates, makes your weapon not lose any durability upon usage. And the best part is the activation chance, being (user’s luck stat) x 2 = chance of activation. In other words, if your luck stat is 50 or higher, which is a near certainty at max level, your weapons will NEVER lose Durability.
Nyarly: Can you beat Fire Emblem Awakening with only Chrom and Robin? Every FE speedrunner: Yes. In all seriousness, it’s cool to see you branch out into other RPGs for these challenges. I’d be interested in more Fire Emblem content in the future

Don't forget FE8, where the game would literally be 100% easier if the only unit you were required to deploy was Seth- even on Difficult
Short answer: obviously yes
Long answer: robin alone could probably solo the game but tbh, pairup is one hell of a drug
Awakening specifically encourages using few units anyway because of how broken pair up and Robin's skills are in this game, so this isn't that difficult of a challenge, but still love to see FE content.
My endgame army is basically always just some combination of Chrom, Robin, and their families alongside whoever else I need at the moment lol

"You may have noticed Kellam"
No, actually I didnt.
Kellam has a whole running gag in the game about people ignoring him.
@@ZorotheGallade was I the only person that actually tried to talk to him? It seemed obvious because there's no other reason for a named green unit to be there.
Also nice name
@@sebaschan-uwu No, I did too, it's just funny that they ignored him.
If you let Robin deal the final blow, the literal power of friendship revives them after the credits where it's implied they lived the rest of their days happy as can be.
As an avid Awakening Player I have a funnier challenge: Can you beat this game with only Donnel? (Or maybe, Virion, the base game archer with blue hair.)
Chrom and Robin are known as some of the most broken characters of all Fire Emblem for a reason after all.
Put in the xp and Donny is a total god, Virion is just the meme lord
More Robin than Chrom, Chrom is a competent Lord, but Robin is literally in the top three strongest FE characters of all time
When he was doing the chapter to recruit Morgan I had to remember how in my first playthrough I married Robin to Nowi and Morgan showed up for me as a Manakete with Ignis and Astra and the entire chapter just boiled down to Robin solo clearing one half of the map while Morgan just utterly anihilated the other half.
Wow same here basically. Except I turned her into a tactician after most of the enemies were dead
Nyarly: "This is the final battle, so if you have any last-minute preparations to make, now is a good time"
Me: "Ah yes, my last-minute maxing out all my favorite characters and clearing Apotheosis before worrying about the fell dragon, good times"
“Oh right, and I better go kill Grima in an alternate future where he’s stronger before I come back and kill mine” lol
Honestly, recruiting any of the secret characters, ESPECIALLY Priam, Is not even worth the effort.
It's not like you'll blitz through the game with some OP unit, they're only really useful In either the last battle or other secret missions.
@@mqfii8992 sure it’s not WORTH the effort but damn is it fun.
I’m so glad your doing a Fire Emblem game. This series is what brought me to MegaTen! Awakening is pretty fun but also kinda broken, but I still enjoy coming back to this game.
Hey, 100% agreed dude
Same here! I loved awakening and that caused me to try SMT 4 and that was the start of my SMT obsession. (Awakening is still my favorite FE game even after playing through most of the franchise)
So either
A) It was close enough to Persona for Atlus’s series to catch your interest
or
B) Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

The weird elements is not even new in Awakening
Optimizing child units is in Genealogy
From what I’ve heard, most of the complaints revolved around how your dialogue choices don’t really matter, or more specifically, that it set the precedent of for Fates and Three Houses. Which is fair.
Aside from that it is an absolute classic.
The game that is infamous for being soloable with Robin
The video title:
The way this game is balanced, playing with just one unit is rewarded. This isn’t a challenge run, this is just how most people played it.
So true
But can you beat the game with only Donnel?
@@donovanlocust1106 absolutely, all it takes is a few levels into him and he starts fucking them up
Also, Man got swordpilled and ignored the class that's so notoriously broken it's in a tier of its own
What's a draft race like? How does it work? It kinda sounds fun
Wait do you mean you banned Chrobin as a pairup/support option? Since Im guessing you can't just not deploy Chrom haha

Doing this challenge with 3 houses would be fun despite being pretty easy. I can already see Dimitri critting literally everything
Dimitri is the best boy
Ah yes, Dimitri finally gets what he does: *He kills every last one of them*
Hunting by Daybreak should not be underestimated.
Glad to see Awakening challenge runs still these days but my god I’ve never heard someone pronounce the names in this game in the way you have
Emmeryn and grima made me physically angry to hear lol
I'm gonna level with you, aside from the "other units aren't allowed to enter combat" stipulation causing problems with stuff like Ricken's chapter, this is just the optimal/easiest way to play Awakening considering how broken Robin is. Wouldn't even consider this a challenge run.
A better challenge would be something like Lunatic No Grinding.
That’s been done
Many times
Because some fire emblem players are just gods
As a big Fire Emblem fan I believe this is how the devs intended the game to be played.
It's one of the oldest awakening memes
Yes you can
Lunatic requires you to solo with Fredrick and +def robin for a while
Tfw i beat the tutorial levels of lunatic with + speed robin. But forgot to marry chrom to someone and didnt save.
> Chrom doesn't seem too bothered by the fact that a complete stranger knows his name
I mean, he *is* the heir presumptive to the kingdom of Ylisse, I feel like it has to be a fairly common occurrence for him
Can you win by over leveling two of the strongest units in the game? probably.
Lunatic+ difficulties tend to just pump up stats and throw annoying skills on enemies making them more stat bench marks than an actual strategically placed units.
these yt challenge runs have been going for so long that the challenge is to now play the game optimally lmao
can't wait for the hour long video about whether or not you can beat birthright with only royals
As a big fan of smt and fire emblem, I’m looking forward to more fe challenges in the future!
Tfw you know Robin literally carries the hardest difficulty. And if you thought Lunatic was to hard, imagine Lunatic+ lol
Still its cool to see you dipping into Fire Emblem!
If possible I would love a Corrin and Niles only run of Conquest, with a heavy emphasis on capturing and only using enemy unit NPCs and bosses.
Legitimately the easiest way to beat the game, but excited for some FE content.
funniest thing about robin is you can do it with literally just him
he has so many abilities he can learn it's unreal, and he activates them super often
This was my first fire emblem game and it made me fall in love with the series. So happy you’re delving into it
Same
Happy to see you get in touch with this series.
I would like to see you doing Birthright/Conquest but only using Corrin and Azura
That would actually be kinda hard. Especially depending on the path you take
before even watching the video i knew the answer was yes.
Where are you getting this information from?
@@Benjamin-dw7rp he's an Amiibo character for Fates and in the end bios, if he kills Grima, he does end up coming back to Ylisse. I don't see another real possibility.

Comments section: Actually it’s optimal.
Seriously though, yes it’s obviously very possible and easily one of the most broken starts in an FE game.
23:44 Gigachad energy right there, Nyarly
I managed to beat lunatic conquest using just kana and it was hell
Honestly though I'm very glad to see you branching out into FE challenges! Can't wait to see more man!!
Love to see you branching out, looking forward to more FE challenge runs!
This game is really Impressive, just missed characters with feet haha
Obviously yes, Chrom and especially Robin are incredibly overpowered
Yay, you saved our boy Morgan
Honestly, I used JUST Robin and Chrom in the final fight in my Lunatic mode playthrough, and after MANY resets, it worked.
Perhaps you should do an ironman run, for people who don't know ironman run means not restarting the chapter when someone dies, so basically you have 1 chance and if a unit dies they are gone forever, they are actually quite fun to do and make you use units that otherwise you never would.
Yooo seeing Nyarly do ironman runs would be awesome
Other FE challenge runs to suggest? A Thracia 776 ironman would be cool to see, but extremely difficult.
How about a Corrin only solo in Conquest and a Alm/Celica run in Echoes? They would be interesting to watch!
Fire emblem ironman is a pretty popular one, basically if you get a game over, it’s a full on reset.
2 nitpicks
1: Normal is the normal difficulty.

I kind of want to see a Fates: Conquest challenge now.
Though honestly I'd prefer to see it with "minimum characters" rather than solo. Since the pair up mechanics strategies are so interesting. Meaning you can only use the characters that are forced into the map.

I was legitimately surprised to see this video by Nyarly.
But hey, it’s a welcome addition.
Also the answer to the question, this isn’t just possible but it’s also the way to easily beat the game.
I mean
Robin's busted beyond belief so I wouldn't be surprised if Robin solos at least lunatic
Though probably not lunatic plus especially without pair up
Nice challenge run man.
Are you ever going to do something like solo Sacred Stones with Seth? I bet that’d be pretty difficult.
Fe4 with Sigurd only would be rough too
I actually got so bored of playing the game the usual way on hard that I just started it again on lunatic, only using chrom and robin, and beat it in a couple of hours. Sorcerer female robin with nosferatu + bow knight chrom are just invincible.
I tend to make Chrom into a Paladin, never tried the archer class line with him
One of my personal favorite strategies for this game is to, at some point, change Robin to a Trickster class (I’m pretty sure I have that class right) because they get a skill that, if it activates, makes your weapon not lose any durability upon usage. And the best part is the activation chance, being (user’s luck stat) x 2 = chance of activation. In other words, if your luck stat is 50 or higher, which is a near certainty at max level, your weapons will NEVER lose Durability.
My first fire emblem touched by the hands of Nyarly. I never expected it but I love it
Nyarly: Can you beat Fire Emblem Awakening with only Chrom and Robin?
Every FE speedrunner: Yes.
In all seriousness, it’s cool to see you branch out into other RPGs for these challenges. I’d be interested in more Fire Emblem content in the future

How about a Fire Emblem Fates challenge where you can’t use the same characters twice (meaning each character has to be swapped out every other chapter or so UNLESS they’re scripted otherwise) and every character has to be recruited-not necessarily used but have to be recruited.
Can’t wait to see what you’ll do next! 🤩👍
I didn't expect Fire Emblem here of all places, at first I thought this was an upload from another channel lol, but honestly, it just feels like it fits with the channel, plus I really enjoy Fire Emblem so I think it's a Win-Win here.
Super excited to see you play more FE games hopefully this and SMT are by far my two favorite JRPGs
