That and an eldritch abomination as well. Here, it is beilieved that seeing the Boitatá can cause madness, blindness or death, and those illustrations of a serpent with multiple eyes? The Video doesn't mention them, but that is usually how the Boitatá is believed to look like.
0:00🔥 A man saw a creature Serpent covered in fire Boitatá at night. 0:33 He tell him he saw so priest wrote his book information. 0:54 Woo he shoot Fire Serpent with his gun. A man was sonsume by Fire Serpent. 1:44 No wonder Boitatá not extinguished when it enters the water. 2:13 They can see there was light on fire at night. 👍👍 Wow that was very impressive story of Boitatá The TERRIFYING Fire Serpent of Brazilian Folklore.
It's probably a reference to it's origin, how Boitatá got it's powers: In the book Lendas do Sul (Legends of the South) by brazilian author and folklorist João Simões Lopes Neto, it's stated the Boitatá traces it's origins back to ancient times when a great flood covered the land, killing many animals and plants. To survive, a giant snake named Boiguazú (the Great Snake) hid in a cave and fed on the eyes of the dead animals. These eyes contained the light of the creatures' souls, and over time, the snake absorbed this light, transforming into a flaming entity, having it's name changed from Boiguazú (the Great Snake) to Boitatá (the Fire Snake).
The legend is different here Here it says a Great Night happened - likely the same referenced on the myth that a young couple stole the Night Fruit from the Great Serpent and caused the world to be covered in darkness when they opened it out of curiosity - and when it happened the Serpent, the only animal capable of seeing in the darkness, ate the eyes/souls of all creatures that lived on land until it was so full it brought its own end, shining with all those eyes/souls that it burst aflame as a new Sun
I like to imagine the Boitatá as a kind of "What If" where Satan instead of falling for Pride was really into Gluttony, ignoring Adam & Even and focusing on eating all the animals in the Garden of Eden Because thats kinda what Boitatá did in our myth, when it had the opportunity it ate the eyes/souls of all creatures it could find until it died in a blaze of glory as the light of all those eyes/souls burned it away, with only it's spirit remaining, ascended into a fire god
@@Mrtfarrugia Perhaps, though its more so because of the swamp will-o-wisps. The forests here released a lot of inflammable material into the air that would ignite it and trying to run from it or after it would result in the fire coming after you due to the vacuum created by your body moving, causing you to be consumed just like the portuguese reported seeing the natives being consumed by the flames, and the moving fire often resembled a serpent
From a christian standpoint it would make sense to think of it as a Fallen Seraph However if you wanna adapt/reinterpret the myth itself through christian lenses it would be more accurate to say it was a normal serpent that evolved into a Seraphim-like creature since the myth tells us that it only became a being of spiritual fire after consuming so much that its body couldnt handle it's own warmth
Ah yes, The Fire-Breathing Anaconda
Fun Fact: Fire can exist under water if its getting oxygen from the right source of combustible material.
Boitatá: The closest thing to a Dragon in Brazilian Mythology.

It pretty much is, considering what "dragon" means.
Love this channel
It's always scary when snakes have a row of teeth (fangs) but the multiple eyes bring a new level of terrified to this being!
I see, the Boitatá is the snake version of a Fire-breathing dragon. But mostly a fire ghost Anaconda.
Thank you for the information

Ah, yes. Snake-Eyes Flamberge
Now if only it had wings of a dragon then it would be perfect

So basically it's an undead serpent demon-god of hellfire that has a taste for human eyes.

The Seraphim is kinda serpentine-like. This one's probably a fallen one and it lost its wings.
