I hope you see this comment, Carolyn:
You are wonderfully encouraging and inspiring. You are the 1st and only person in my entire life that has told me that I am important and needed. That hit my heart in the right place, bringing the good kind of tears to my eyes.
    Thank you.

Timely video. I am currently in bed for a week now with the flu, bronchitis and an intestinal bug. I have never been so sick in my life. I am blessed to have my husband home from work during this time and my two oldest boys are very capable. I have been able to sleep and rest the whole time while my husband and boys take care of me and the household and the animals. It did help that I have quick meals on hand as well.

If you are really sick every one can eat cereal 🥣 for a meal or two and they'll survive. 🙌

Mandy Laprade Kids love cereal 🥣 Tell me a child that wouldn’t love cereal once twice or 3 times in a day when mom is sick 🥳 It would be a treat that is not always allowed 🥳

5 yr old chores in my home were learning how to cook and wash there own dishes. 6 yr olds picked there new chore and are responsible for there own dishes while continuing to learn how to cook. 7 yr old new chore is learning how to wash there own laundry and continue with all the previously learned chores. I am a cancer survivor. I found out I had cancer 3 weeks after the birth on my third child. I was so sick while pregnant because of the unknown illness. I could not walk from one side of the kitchen to the other without having breathing issues. That is when my 4 yr old son and 2 he old daughter taught me that they could help me take care of them. They would work together to bring me what they wanted to eat so I could make it for them. Granted there breakfast and lunch were cold foods but we were able to make it work. Once I could walk and breath I started teaching my son how to cook with eggs. He was 5. For his birthday he received his own dishes which is why that became part of the 5 yr old chores.

I loved your story J Ro. I’m so sorry you had to go through that really difficult bad time. Especially right after the birth of the little one. However, the rest of your story was so sweet and loving. How those two babies helped momma. I think your way of teaching them to be independent is amazing. I’m going to share this with my niece. I can imagine what kind of momma you are.♥️♥️ Thank you for sharing. You made my heart smile. God bless you and your family with great health and much joy. 🌹

Thank you for your kind words. I am learning from my adult children that they think I'm too soft and over protective. We have a 7 yr old guardianship child and they are harder on her than I would be. For example I give her to the count of three to adjust her actions and then give her a correction. All three of my adult children go directly to the correction. I still count her. Lol I don't spank, I have do washing walls, fill pot holes, move bricks from one spot to the other and have a fit in the bedroom because that's there space. They have the same corrections but also add corner time and the occasional swat which I tell them I don't approve of. My favorite is pot holes because the child in question decides how many he or she does. For every time I get to three a pot hole is added. The first time I used this correction my oldest got up to 14. The community thought he was being thoughtful 😊. So my three children would say I could have been better by being stricter and spanking more. I still disagree with the spanking.

My go to sick recipe is: a noodle pot full to the bolts of broth cut up potatoes, onions, and carrots add to the pan. Add corn, green beans, peas, spinach, whatever else you want and don't be afraid to mix more than you normally would!!!! Then add turmeric and ginger and lots of garlic as well as pepper and salt. Boil until done. Can serve as is or with sour cream, also can just add a little butter in bowl with a dash of milk. We also add hot sauce to our bowls. My kids love it and they feel so much better the next day!!!!

Carolynn, I love your channel and watch as much as I can. With this Covid thing going on around the world, watching your channel reminded me of my by-gone days and a book I used to read called “Back to Basics” a Readers Digest book. I searched my house for it and found it tucked in a corner bookshelf. I think it’s time to pull it out of hibernation, dust it off and relearn some skills. Bone broth is great (I add a dash or two of cilantro) when I’m sick and don’t want everyone else sick (I also dehydrate my own hot peppers to powder for dishes).Thank you for reminding us all of the bounty of knowledge we have inside us all.💜💙💖

This video came exactly at the right time. I’m showing signs of COVID-19, and have made it a point to sleep most of the day, except for cooking. (If I let my husband cook, I wouldn’t have any pans left.) Then it’s right back to bed for me.

I have a great solution to morning sickness. Truly, this works so well, please try it or share with someone who needs it. I did this with both my pregnancies and had NO morning sickness. Here it is. Put a sleeve or covered bowl of saltines next to your bed. This is key: BEFORE SITTING UP when you wake up, roll over and eat several crackers. Take a tiny sip of water ONLY if needed but it's better to take small nibbles of the crackers so you don't need to. Then give them a couple minutes to settle and rise slowly. Seriously, this works. Love and please get well soon.

Hi everyone, if you're reading this and you're alive and breathing then this message is for you: God loves you so, so much, you can not fathom His love for you! It does not matter what's your gender, your luck so far in life, or what you have done in your past (trust me I'm the worst of them all). God came in the flesh in a man named Jesus Christ and gave His life for you, to take the punishment that should have been yours. In God's perfect, good, holy universe, ALL sin and evil must be paid for by the death penalty (Romans 6:23), but we, as sinners, have the opportunity to not face that penalty, because Jesus paid the penalty that was ours by dying on the cross; God Himself stepped in and volunteered to pay our fine, so we didn't have to. He is our sin sacrifice that makes peace between God and whoever accepts Jesus as their Savior and Lord (Colossians 1:20-23). God’s love for you is the strongest force in existence. Stronger than gravity, stronger than whatever you're going through right now (even if it’s this pandemic). If you're already a believer, then never forget what you just read! And make sure your relationship with the Heavenly Father is active, real, honest, alive and well. Not lazy like most Christians are with God. The Lord said only those who truly know Him, who are intimately connected with Him, and who hear His voice and obey His commands will enter The Kingdom of God. If you truly have a real, intimate, interactive relationship with the Heavenly Father, if He is truly real to you, if you’ve been spiritually quickened, nothing bad that happens in this world can really move, shake or sway you, because all your hope and faith is in the Most High. Especially with this Corona Virus pandemic, if you’re truly resting and depending on the Lord as your everything, eating His spiritual flesh and drinking His spiritual blood every day, there’s no fear or worry in your heart, because our hope is Christ. If I die, it’s gain, if I live, it’s Christ. And if you don’t have this kind of relationship, but want it, then go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to reveal who He is to you, and ask Him for the Holy Spirit (read Luke Chapter 11:1-13). But one thing I must point out to those who call themselves Christians, one of the most important yet misunderstood things about being saved: you must truly repent of every sin, big or small (read Luke 13:1-9). Secondly, you must deny yourself, pick up your cross, and live for the Lord every day of your life - the Lord Himself said if you don’t obey God’s will, you’re not worthy for Heaven. If you're a nonbeliever, please be humble and go see for yourself if what I'm saying is true or not. Great tribulation and chaos that has never been seen before is coming upon this earth, its prophesied in scripture that it would happen before Jesus returns. Repent while there is still time, turn from your evil ways, and come to the Lord for forgiveness and a true relationship. Judgement is coming, and if you don't repent and go to the Lord for mercy and forgiveness, you WILL burn in the lake of fire for all eternity. I didn't come to argue, I was sent to change. Make a change, Christians! You aren't meant to hang around and live for yourself like everyone else! God bless you all!!
