i composed both ignis tracks so i’ll leave my thoughts here: i made the first iteration of the ignis soundtrack in 2020. from my stance, this one aged the worst out of all the soundtracks from all that i’ve done. the mixing retrospectively is poor and the composition is messy, but this is just what happens as you develop your skills over time. this is the main reason i remade the soundtrack. i wanted to completely change the soundtrack, and improve the mixing to showcase my progress as a composer and do somethin completely experimental by adding a mario kart type jazz fusion vibe to it. the result came out really well with the slow pacing of the map while feeling like a crazy difficulty ost. i know the track has received mixed reception, but this hasn’t changed my thoughts on the new iteration. i am still very proud of the result and i think it beats the old version by a landslide. it’s an acquired taste for sure but i am glad to bring a unique twist on the fe2 soundtrack. i respect your choices.
1. *Amphibous Billow* : Now before you say something, “why this OST specifically, others had better melody than this!”, AB was a map I HEAVILY wanted to be permanent within the game. The V2 OST slaps my skin so hard the blood cells literally get obliterated. The vibe to the map, the “fading” thought-like remark on the OST, and many other applications to the OST is what I consider to be my favorite. And remember, I’m still listening to more map OSTs, so there’s a possibility it’ll change as a favorite. 2. *AVM (V4, Sirenless)* : I must admit, the tower section got me fucking grilled. It fits the intensity of the section and the rest of the map, well-as the ending as it gives that feeling and vibe of “last chances”, giving off that inspirational melody. Not to mention the boost in the OST during the second phase of the first tower. 3. *Muted Metro* : Fucking underrated map. The serious and nearly intense mood of the OST alongside it fitting the theme gets me too well. Applying the factor that very few within the FE2CM community even gives a shit about the OST, its literally good for fitting at serious or life-threatning themed maps. 4. *Hyperspace (REMAKE)* : “Thats a LB map, not a FE2CM map!!!” Jokes on you, the remake is being made and V2 is within the community maps, so I still count it. Just like AVM, its intense, fast-paced, and adrenaline-running. While it does need *some* work, like some remarks on the parts of the OST, its good enough to be included within this list. 5. *Decaying Silo (Subzero’s Night)* : Whilst the original had that map-feeling, the remakes to the map and the updates to the OST all alone make up for an excuse to be on this list. Even though it remains somewhat similair to the original, I believe it is slightly more intense and epic, considering the way Lux themed the OST to the map.
By the way, the ‘old’ Poisonous Chasm isn’t old.. It’s an extended version of the song after the actual main game song ended. So yeah, it’s not old. PS: I don’t know where you hear that sound from but I don’t think this OST was ever added to the game-
The part in 11:24 in the Satomi Springs ost sounds so familiar because Elite/Lux purposely added a familiar ruins reference. (The beat near the end of familiar ruins)
Personal Favorite 5 OSTS: Poisonous Chasm #1: I think you know why how good it is Poisonous Forest #2: I think this is one of the best I’ve heard. I do like the end how it’s beautiful as you see the chasm as you past the forest. Satomi Springs #3: I think this is one of Elites best. I am mixed how he pulls with it despite it being the same fast paced electronic type mixed with some orchestral. But Satomi is if I have to say like that but it was done well how he made it pretty enjoyable. Gives a spring-like type vibe or a enhanced version of Forsaken Era whatever it’s called in the easy maps Beneath the Ruins #4: I think this is pretty good. There’s no buildup of insane parts. The music feels like a enhanced 16-bit soundtrack despite it being calm. While there is fast buildup near the ruined cave facility it’s not that intense. It makes it say you are close to the end Flood Island #5: I kinda like this ost. It gives out a stormy hurricane vibe with it being a calm intense soundtrack. I think of it as a raging weak hurricane hitting somewhere despite it is heavy raining
Man I know the comments are talking about snowy stronghold. But why is no one mentioning Zemblanity😢 It’s such a good ost and fits the maps peaceful vibes SO MUCH. It’s one of my top three favorite which I will list rn: 3.Poisonous Chasm current official ost., 2. Snowy Stronghold in game ost. 1 Zemblanity it’s just so good❤ But everyone has different perspectives 😊

Honestly, I don’t really like AVM V3’s OST that much anymore. Despite it having the OG WOOOOAAAAAA, it just can’t compare after listening to AVM V4’s OST.
