  • Arkadag: The $5 BILLION New Mega City That Is Now EMPTY! Mega Ghost City
Nestled in Central Asia, is a new megacity unlike any other. The construction of the futuristic city of Arkadag has consumed billions of dollars, showcasing opulence and cutting-edge technology. Yet, despite its grandeur, the city lies eerily uninhabited. the scenes at this new city evoke parallels with Naypyidaw, the new capital of Myanmar, often dubbed a "Ghost Town" due in part to its sprawling but eerily deserted 20 lane highways. Today let’s explore a new megacity that is inevitably turning into another ghost city.

The proposed cities are beautiful. I like the idea that only public transportation is used inside the city.
I do not like the fact that the housing is unaffordable, and you have no say in your life.

I’m not certain such a tech based city that relies on internet and AI will be possible in practice since their citizens are blocked from most internet use and sites or platforms that originate outside their home country barring massive changes to individual civil liberties.

Not sure about that, egypt has growing population for one, also its purpose is different, it is to secure the ruling class abd separates them from the huge population in qairo, so it's much more like brasilia or pretoria, and like them will probably develop urban slums in the suburbs, if allowed ofc.

@@dannyboy-vtc5741 it's kinda true bc it has only luxury compounds and high class living , and the rich will prefer to live in a castle but still may fail bc not every will love to live in the middle of the desert in that crazy hot weather

@@Magdyy yeah, qairo is the same heat wise, those buildings all have central a/c from the get go, only thing in question is will the middle and lower class follow them or will it just stay for the state elites, but it's nothing like those empty vanity cities, it was built for completely different purpose and reaaons - and it's close to qairo, it's not in the middle of nowhere that you need a plane ride from the old capital.

What Egypt did is right. It makes empty land in the desert valuable. And the investment is quite cheap. It can also green the desert because it has the Nile River. The most important thing Egypt needs to do is to protect agricultural lands and build new settlements. Cairo must expand west, south and east. It should not expand to the north. And the area between Cairo and Suez should be completely inhabited. Logistics makes this possible. Egypt is a flat place and going from Cairo to Suez is faster than going from one province to another in Turkey. Also, if there are many buildings in between, this will make life much cheaper.

Oh. "The Line" is the next empty mega-city

The Line will be much more successful than this project. Because it is a well-thought-out project. This is a classic 20th century city.
