Great game! Always fun to watch these games. By the way - Joey's final Marionette Master trigger should have still done 6 damage. From the rulings: "The amount of life lost is determined as Marionette Master's last ability resolves. If Marionette Master is no longer on the battlefield, use its power as it last existed on the battlefield to determine how much life is lost."
Yeah, effects that use last-known info are counter-intuitive, but that could've have changed things. Also deflecting swat could not have redirected the life loss to joey, as the marionette master can only target opponents (so it would have gone at his other opponent).

For the celebration I'm thinking very simply some games with the guys frequently on the channel, but playing their favorite decks just having a good time. Alternatively maybe arrange some games with the decks who have won in the past?
Congrats on 20k subs! I would say, as a treat, that you revisit the first game played on the channel however showing how the decks have been upgraded since that first episode. Any new cards, new synergies, new tricks to bring to play.

Just a small note about the Marionette Master turn. If the creature dies with a trigger on the stack, last known information is used to determine the amount of life that is being lost. It's also the first ruling on the card on scryfall/gatherer. Second note: The Deflecting Swat can only choose legal new targets and since the master says "opponent", the only legal target would be Jon. John goes down to 10 life then. If joey has another artifact to sacrifice, he could use the Marionette trigger for 6 to put him down to 4. And put him at least to 1 life :D

I'm still learning the rules of the game so please correct me if I'm wrong but at 32:50 Joey made a play trying to go for some damage using Marionette Master and somehow the damage got defflected at him Esmond used Deflecting Swat on Marionette Masters ability Marionette Master {4}{B}{B} Creature - Human Artificer Fabricate 3 (When this creature enters the battlefield, put three +1/+1 counters on it or create three 1/1 colorless Servo artifact creature tokens.) Whenever an artifact you control is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, target opponent loses life equal to Marionette Master’s power. How is Joey a legal target when it Marionette Master says target opponent? Also why did Marionette Master fizzle when their should have been a snapshot of its power as it entered the stack as per 113.7a 113.7a Once activated or triggered, an ability exists on the stack independently of its source. Destruction or removal of the source after that time won’t affect the ability. Note that some abilities cause a source to do something (for example, “Prodigal Pyromancer deals 1 damage to any target”) rather than the ability doing anything directly. In these cases, any activated or triggered ability that references information about the source for use while announcing an activated ability or putting a triggered ability on the stack checks that information when the ability is put onto the stack. Otherwise, it will check that information when it resolves. In both instances, if the source is no longer in the zone it’s expected to be in at that time, its last known information is used. The source can still perform the action even though it no longer exists.

Been watching lot of your vids lately, they fun to watch and I like both the decks and the social aspect of your pods. For the celebration I'd say: try a Pauper pod, or a pod with each player using one of the m19 dragons as a commander ^^

You were just as gracious and friendly as I expected, Esmond. A couple of misplays - deflecting swat can't make Joey's Marionette master trigger target himself. The ability can only target his opponents. When the original marionette master trigger resolves it will use last known information from before it died, which would kill Esmond. These were kind of consequential, but very good game overall.

Of course, the lethal commander damage count should be reduced to 20 and the starting life should also be 20 :P

Half the fun of commander games for me is the table chemistry. This looked like such a fun game to play and was great to watch. Congrats on the 20k.
