Pride kind of hits me like judgment...I try to avoid it but I still fall into the sins of pride and judgement and only realize it immediately afterwards at which time I immediately confess them...these two just seem to catch me off guard often...
Powerful words from a great Saint. Words to live by. I appreciate this and other “food for the soul” sermons from the Saints. Thank you for your tireless work Anthony! Ave Maria!
I needed to hear this. It is of great comfort knowing we are not supposed to try to identify the man of sin or worry about when he will be revealed. I am a lover of prophesy in so much as it pertains to our times as a warning for us and and also an assurance that God doesn’t leave us in the dark but prepares us as any good parent would prepare their children for immanent trials and danger.
I had not considered the dangers found in examining too closely those prophecies about the Antichrist. I have supposed the prophecies were there to be examined, to prepare for the times to come. But it makes sense to back away so as not to assume knowledge we’re not meant to know, and to focus instead on Christ. This is meat to chew on; thoughts to carry with me daily. Only Christ is important. I’m glad you chose this to read; I needed to hear it today. Thank you for this reading; points well taken.
I love that while we may know and be aware of the "signs of the times" and those of the anti-christ, yet our preoccupation is not to be upon the person of the anti-christ and who he is, but upon JESUS CHRIST and WHO HE IS! Perfect!!
Oh thank you Anthony so much!!! I am so guilty of this and I didn't know we weren't supposed to try to figure out who it was! You are so right, we are to keep our focus on God and only Him and not care who the antichrist is so that we don't get caught up in his lies. I did not know this was a sin of pride but now I see that!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! God Bless you for giving us this !!
Wow! I think I need to hear this a few more times! Thank you, Anthony, for bringing St. John Crysostom's words to us. He sure didn't mince them, did he? 😊
Parable of the ten virgins ... yes, we must stay awake and pay attention, but woe to the servant caught napping or drunken when his Master returns. ... Trouble is ... all too many of us are attempting divination to portend the future - a sorcery explicitly denounced by Scripture. And - with no more self-awareness than a 'Karen' - many are ready to just give up and throw in the towel - When no one told us to give up!
@ yarrl egap "Attempting divination" is a mortal sin, of which most Catholics are aware, and is a most uncharitable (& unwarranted!) accusation. I think it more accurate to say is that those who are trying to figure out "who" is the aC, are simply wasting their time, and removing their attention from God.
@Matthew 17:11 Declared A HERESY long ago. He followed Origen too closely, who also skated into heresy. They both believed that mankind only became material AFTER the Fall (heresy!), and that even the evil ones will be saved...eventually (also a MAJOR heresy!). These beliefs are to declare God a liar, Who saw that His MATERIAL Creations were "Good" (perfect in His eyes, at the time). Also, was Jesus lying when He said, more than once, that hell fires are *everlasting*, and "...their worm dieth not."
Pope Francis:September 25,2015,before the UN General Assembly “In my OWN name, and in the name of the Catholic Community” (John 5:43) Luke 10:18 “And I beheld Satan fall (pup to-to bow,to prostrate oneself) as lightning (Barak in Hebrew)from heaven (bamah=heights). Matthew 17:11 Jesus said “To be sure,Elijah comes and restores everything” Apokatastasis “Apo- back again” “kathisteni-to set in order”
Not speculating about who the man of lawlessness is actually doesn’t make sense when you stop and really think about it. I understand the idea of not being a “chicken little“ and hysterically speculating about everyone who apostatizes from the faith. Not falling into the sin of pride and declaring you are the one who knows the end times dates that Christ told us not to make conjecture of, but questioning who the man of lawlessness is must be up for discussion. This man is real and really will appear in creation. And we are supposed to fight and stand against him. But if faithful Catholics cannot discuss his identity how do we unite and stand against him? When he does appear we will have to speculate and call him out for being what he is correct? It seems a prudent and prayer full middle ground is required, not calls to not ever speculate.
Not to worry...when the AC comes you won't even question it. He will be on the cover of all news, TV, People magazine ect ect ect revered as the Lord himself...he will be glorified by almost all around the globe...he will come out of the Roman Empire...but the way to know who is the AC and what is the Lord's second coming will not be that hard...the AC will be the first to come that is universally praised by all...the first...the Lord will come after that. And when the Lord comes, all that praised the AC will say to one another "then if this second person who has come claims to be Christ, who was this first person we have been praising." Then it will sink in.
I think it is b/c it will just become a finger-pointing exercise, and thus we miss the whole point of keeping ourselves focused on God, and not denigrating others.
Pope Francis is just fulfilling prophecy pray for him he knows at the end the world itself will turn Catholic. Stay traditional but stay awake and pray for others.
How can anybody be looking for the anti-Christ himself? It’s not even the proper age of the church to my (limited) understanding, as he will come in the last age. It’s like a combing over an apple tree trying to find a bad apple in the dead of winter.
It’s all too easy to let pride guide and even insist that you follow up many of these prophesies and even on line criticisms of the Curia and the pope. I’ve felt uneasy with this and am mindful that it’s easy to fall into the trap of seeing the splinter on the eyes of others but missing the plank in your own. Grace acts for good…always. St Francis didn’t shout from the rooftops about his pope who was in error but went on living a holy life himself and by his actions and example that pope underwent conversion and repentance. We need to concentrate on our own salvation more. Do not be scandalised nor tempted to join baying wolf packs. Pray, hope and don’t worry, as St Padre Pio tells us. Our Lord made us a promise. Who are we to doubt His word?
Mohammed was AN antiChrist. Likewise Nero (the original 666 beast), and many others down through history since Christ's first coming. The Bible & Catholic prophecy speaks of The AntiChrist, an evil man who rules much of the world before the return of the Lord Jesus in Glory.
@Charlie Church NO, Charlie. Muhammad was merely a "type" (forerunner) of aC, just as so many others were before him, and after. The aC HAS NOT YET COME, dude! Don't you even listen*?!?
Thank you Anthony. Pride is a sin I am guilty of and this homily is great help. Have a blessed Sunday.
Gulp, me too!
Pride kind of hits me like judgment...I try to avoid it but I still fall into the sins of pride and judgement and only realize it immediately afterwards at which time I immediately confess them...these two just seem to catch me off guard often...

Thanks, Anthony. Best warning on pride I've ever heard.
Good morning, that was excellent; some great wisdom was spoken. It made me think of my life situation and how I may offend God
Thanks Anthony. Have a blessed 3rd Sunday of Easter.
Excellent, thank you. Highly interesting topic! Great words on pride. God bless. Ave Maria 🙏⛪⚓.

very helpful very needed can you do videos like this on the other 6 deadly sins?
Appreciate your work. I consistently watch your videos.
It almost felt like he was speaking on celebrity worship...and that speculation on the AC falls in that idol worship category.
Wow! I think I need to hear this a few more times! Thank you, Anthony, for bringing St. John Crysostom's words to us. He sure didn't mince them, did he? 😊
"Pray, hope, and don't worry." St. Padre Pio.
This is a very interesting message
Thank you
Thank you
Great to see you in person, today my first time to actually see you. Thanks for the great work you do Anthony. Noel 🙏🙏🙏
I've been on camera for two months now :)
I absolutely love this channel.
Amen Anthony
Food for thought
thank you!
Thanks!
A antichrist will be a wolf 🐺 in sheep 🐑 clothes.
I can speculate that I am not the anti-Christ and am overcoming pride and greed and lust and envy working on gluttony and sloth and wrath...
“Chrysostom” is derived from a Greek word that means “golden mouth”. It seems pretty obvious why he has that word as an epithet.

Dang. Guilty.

Its what came up as a non-icon picture of St John C. My bad.

I wish that this could be presented in plain English without all the convoluted language. I have trouble following this.

Does Elon musk fit? He's on my short list.
Oops, I wasn't supposed to do that. Sorry.
He doesn't fit the bill theologically speaking.
Rats!!
