Why do you think they opted to exclude HoX/PoX instead of accounting for it in the mapping? I assume that it was a combination of the pagecount were they to stick to the desired mapping as well considerations for the reading experience of Vol. 1, but am curious to know your reflections.

So good to see this first omni of the Krakoa era, but I wonder what should I do if I got all the OHC and I am missing the other issues not collected in hardcover format 🤔
Great news. I never bought the HoX/PoX OHC the first time round in case it was included in the mapping for any future omnibus. So it's nice that they're reprinting it alongside
I'm interested but the final note about it possibly being a 10 to 11 volume run makes me hesitate to commit to this. Even at a discount, it would cost close to, if not over, $1k.
Not getting the omni as i have all the OHC. I wish they would make a sort of companion omnibus or OHC with material not collected currently in the hardcovers. Would be really customer friendly of Marvel towards everybody already getting the hardcovers.
I agree - all of this is a double-dip for those of us with the OHCs but the New Mutants and Fallen Angels. Could we get a New Mutants Dawn of X omnibus which includes Fallen Angels? Since Marvel says they're doing 'event' omnis and 'series' omnis this would make sense. If they do this please have them announce it BEFORE this announced omni comes out.
In a proper reading order? Wow. I was always somewhat interested in this era for both Hickman and some of the truly spectacular artwork, but always thought it to be super inpenetrable. Never would’ve think they’d actually do it this way, that’s big.
Despite what you hear, I honestly do not think this era is super impenetrable. There are some really good, almost stand alone story. But now, you can enjoy the entire saga of one of the best X-eras, ever.
Omar not sure if Marvel is aware of this, but the DM cover for this omnibus is the same used for the X-Men by Jonathan Hickman Omnibus DM variant. Other than that, really excited for this one. Thanks again for some great breaking news!
I've been waiting for this in interest to try out the Krakoa era properly. Think I have an idea of where I'm going next bookwise now that I'm pretty much where I want to be with Star Wars comics
Ah no! I was hoping these omnis would be creator centric. I would buy a Gillen or Ewing Krakoa omni, but not these omnis where most of the titles I found to be bad. I'll have to stick with the trades for the foreseeable future it seems.
Agrees. I only have certain tpbs. Immortal, red, and hellions. I have some early X-men, Wolverine and xforce but only the first 3 of each then I was done
Well crap. I’ve got all these in single issue format, but to have this era (which I loved) collected in oversized format, and in reading order, AND it’s a volume 1!?! As Omar says, “time to empty those wallets, and fill those shelves!” Great announcements both!
Ha, same ... I have all the single issues all the way up to Inferno. But this is a day 1 buy even though I would like a few tweaks to what is collected.
I am so excited. I’m going to need a new shelf just for these now. lol but I’m really curious to what the reason is for omitting the full issue of Wolverine #1. Anyone know why?
Pass for me and worried! This is definitely more for people who haven't bought any X-Men Krakoa, but I have spent hard earned money getting ALL the OHCs including the Hickman Omnibus this is mostly reprinting all that again in a OHC format again. Hopefully Marvel/David won't leave us ones that have been supporting OHC/Omnibus, hanging and release a Duggan Omnibus and Gillen Omnibus and Ewing, etc. Most people don't have money to constantly "upgrade".
@@NearMintCondition Ufff. I happy to hear this :) I love Krakoa, and I have all OHC what Marvel release. This hard choice for me and many people like me to upgrade this or not.
My most wanted omnibus line by far, i have xmen from uncanny vol 1- inferno( halfway through first read of volume 3), new xmen and now the krakoa stuff being collected so excited for this to be a part of the collection collection.
The future release schedule looks great - but given that the books are printed in Canada these days, are the utterly insane new US tariffs going to cause delays, cancelations or significant price hikes?
Dammit, I already had the complete OHC editions of those Krakoan X titles like Marauders and Excaliburs only for Marvel to release an Omnibus and worst it had Fallen Angels and New Mutants which were not collected in OHC's. I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy it, considering I would be double dipping a lot.
So just to make sure I understand. Is that OHC collected in an Omni somewhere? Or if you wanna collected krakoa era stuff you should get the OHC and these omnis?
The Krakoa era of X-Men is finally getting omnibuses. It being in proper reading order is great to hear. Not sure on which cover to choose, they are both amazing. Can’t wait to read this era of X-Men 🙌🏾
What does proper reading order actually mean though? You can read all of one series or you can read each issue of each series and then the second and so on. So what does proper reading order really mean?
It means that the contents in a single book are properly sorted. You could argue all day that it isn't necessarily "proper reading order" since they are individual stories that aren't necessarily crossing over (and I would agree, since I prefer individual, team/character focused books), but Marvel has a tendency to make event books with just a bunch of series together that forces you to jump around to read it in order (e. g. Secret Invasion or Spider-verse), so the question is made more relevant.
Very excited HoxPox is back in print, that deserves to be a evergreen deluxe. Im torn a bit on the Dawn omni tho. Cool idea, but a issue for everyone who already has the OHCs. Not a good precedent to set for later too, i dont think I'll buy a Destiny of X omni just for Immortal and Red. Definitely not getting a reign one just for SWORD :(
I’ve only read the OHC reprint and bits and pieces of what’s in the new omni. Is there a story reason they left out issue 1 of that one series and started with 2-3?
You mean the Wolverine series? Well in that case, if you read the end of the content included in the Omni, it says "and material from Wolverine #1". So the Mainstory should be included in the book, but the backup stories won't.
Wolverine #1 had two stories, one of which was immediately followed by #2, and the other was set-up for the second arc. Presumably the rest of Wolverine #1 will be in a later Krakoa omni when that second Wolverine arc in collected, like they did with the Dawn of X anthology trades.
I wonder what proper reading order would be. I hope they take a blended approach and put issues together from the same series when it makes sense to do so. I read the Dawn of x trades and I didn't like jumping around to the different series issue by issue. By the time you get back to any given series after you've read seven intervening issues of other series... well I for one couldn't remember what happened from one issue to the next, I was constantly losing the plot, literally. But at the same time, it wouldn't be correct to just slam 7 issues of the same series together in a row, you have to do some jumping around.
already have most of the books in single issues, but will be considering getting the omnibus as well.🤔 Other books for Omnibus Treatment: Marvel - The further adventures of Indianna Jones, along with the Movie adaptions of Raiders, Temple of Doom & Last Crusade. Marvel also has the license to reprint the Dark Horse Indianna Jones books as Omnis. From IDW: The Gold Key Stories Of Star Trek the original series.
I’d be so much more interested in this if Hickman had stuck around to finish his vision. No way am I committing to a 10-11 volume series of Omnis, especially when the back half really only has 3 ongoing that are any good. There’s a lot of mediocre stuff in the Krakoa era (Fallen Angels being the first example). But for anybody who never read this…the first few omnis should be really fun.

If they also publish creator-centric omnis at some point, personally I'll do a mix of both ways. I'll get the 2 Dawn of X omnis, the 2 (or 3?) Reign of X omnis... And that's it, because the line doesn't maintain its quality overall after Hickman leaves, so I'd get Ewing and Gillen omnis to finish off the rest of the Krakoa era, the only two writers who I believe are worth following to the end.
Glad the OHC is getting reprinted. Was affraid they would either shove the material in a DoX omni vol 1 or worse put it in an "updated" reprint of Hickman's X-men omni (which I already own...). Now, I can just wait for a few months instead of hunting the OHC. Makes me wonder will the other events/limited series will get their OHCs reprinted eventually (Deaths/Lives; Inferno; Sins; etc;) or will they be shoved in the of X omnies.
Damn, vol 1 of a possible 10 or 11 omnis 😳 and X-men fans are just crazy enough to make it happen lol. Happy for you guys. Also, side note, Omar I thought you said Marvel don’t like to reprint covers on omnis? Wasn’t that Dauterman cover the DM for the Hickman omnibus already?

I personally think Marvel's policy to not reprint OHCs is just ridiculous, but I'm glad they are doing it this time. However, if they wanted to do something special, they could have made a Gallery Edition for House and Powers of X. It keeps their policy and gives us a reason to upgrade 😉. It's a great read.
This is going to be a big omnibus? This is going to be a gigantic omnibus series of books, They are going to collect the 2019 X-men series that wen't off from Hoxpox, and then also collecting the off shoot series of Marauders, X-force, excalibur, new mutants etc etc?!!! Heck, i got a few of those runs in OHC, but they are going to collect that entire story arc crossing multiple titles in omnibus format? that's crazy o.O crazy in a good way, because, seeing i was focussing on the Hoxpox and skipped that X-men run, it's great to get that run in omnibus format.. Excellent that it's mapped in the correct reading order, noticing gaps in books when you are reading will kill a book right away, which has happened to me
Its hard because we have so much already. Sone i don't. But this era was so special. Never anything like it before ir after. Definitely going to be getting this. So special. But don't need hopx because i have my precious!!!!
Will the Fall/Rise omni coming out fit properly with their mapping of this new line, or are they going to screw everyone over again? Though that would be a few years to get to that point.
