If any ladies are looking to grow your grey out even though youre a brunette sometimes what helps is doing a heavy full hilight and getting it toned as silvery as possible. It helps the grow out be less harsh 🥰 i'm a hairdresser and i've found this has helped a lot of clients. Of course your hair your choice no way is the "right" way just do what makes you feel most comfy !
I did that for a while, not the full hilight just the toning and found the toning lasted me about 2 weeks and then washed out. It was too pricey for the results. Now I just let my hair grow out naturally. The end parts are quite brassy but I do like how the silver/brown growout is, about 7 months in now.
I did the all over highlights and was unpleasantly shocked at the results 😅 after about a month of hating it, I used a direct dye on it (color deposit only) and it turned the highlights pink while not having any effect on my dark hair so it looked like pink streaks and I liked that so much better! Of course the direct dye washed out of my hair in about a month and then I tried purple and loved that too! Now I’m 2 1/2 years grown out and have had all the previous permanent dye/ bleached highlights grown out and have long virgin hair with my natural grays. I still use fun direct dye colors on my hair once in awhile and the gray strands grab a tint of color for about a month then wash out with no damage, it’s been so fun! 😊
Yeah everyone is super different that's why I made sure to mention it's not for everyone's journey. So many things go into hair such as what kinda water you have and products you're using can effect the color longevity. With that being said I'm happy to hear you guys got through the rough patch in the transition period and are now loving it 😁
I’m 36, I decided in 2023 to stop dying my hair also. The first 6 months was so hard. But like you i hadn’t seen my natural color since middle school. Once I got over the initial awkward look of it, it started to look very nice and healthy. Don’t regret it at all. Good luck!!
Kasey, can I just tell you, I WAS BEYOND SUPER EXCITED when your video popped up and referenced about your grey hair journey!! YES!!! ❤️ I made the personal decision last year as my 40th birthday gift to myself! (Yes, I celebrate myself! 😉) I wrote my self a birthday letter to my 40’s and committed in that letter to no more dying. I will accept aging just how it looks today. I’m sick of being a slave to coloring. It’s been almost a year though since last hair dye. (Feb 2023) I can’t believe the highs and lows this year has given me with radical acceptance of all this!? To let go of someone’s ideology of “old.” The one thing I’ve noticed that the silver sister community has shown me, is these beautiful women who rock grey hair have immense confidence!! I truly desire that. F society’s idea of beauty. It’s a long drawn out process but I’m here for it. I can’t change grey hair, so why not embrace? 😍 I’m learning to love it. I have to say I’m taken aback when I get random compliments from others about how they like the look of it. Btw my hair color is currently jet black. 😮 I’m naturally blonde and not all the new hair is grey, I still have a good mix of blonde coming in but some days are harder to accept the harsh contrast of it all than other days. Good luck! You will rock this journey and thanks for sharing with us!
I've been following you for YEARS & I feel like I've been a part of your hair journey.. I will always be a softie for your pixie cut. I think k watching Kasey in her silver girl Era is ICONIC. I'm living for it! Can't wait for more updates ❤
I’m so excited for this book of your life 🫶 so grateful to get watch you on this journey 🙏🏼 you have helped me through my own and know you are fully supported through this… lots of love and light 💕✨… 🥂 to a new book 😜
I’ve been growing out my natural color for over a year now, and I’m the same as you salt and pepper, and it is so freeing. I never thought I could go from literally plucking grey and white hairs out of my head…to being mad that I see a long one in my hair brush fall out. Keep pushing! It gets easier every day.
I dyed my hair for the last time in December 2018. I am fully white in the front and still growing some blonde in the back. I truly love the freedom of no longer coloring my hair. Not just the saving of time and money but also the health of my hair. Good luck on your journey and have fun!
Hey Kasey. Wishing you all the best in your grey hair journey. I decided to embrace my greys after my bonus daughter's wedding. I decided this because I have thin, fine hair, especially at crown of my head, had thyroid removed due to cancer, and just didn't want to subject my fragile hair to chemicals in hairdyes. My hair is salt/pepper grey at the moment, and I get compliments on it. Good luck.
I am also 37 and going through the same process. Not gonna lie I was really stressed about it and I feel that probably added more greys lol but I decided to just go with it and look at them as highlights. 🙂 this is just part of the process of being an amazing mature woman.
I think that it is wonderful that you are going on this journey for yourself. I would love to do it as well, but l am still not ready at this time. Just recently dyed my hair to cover the grays, but when the time is right, and l am comfortable to do it, l will. Can't always run from the fact that we are getting older, but to embrace it. Thanks for the video, and will continue to watch, as l always do, to see how it is coming along. Peace, and Happy New Year.
I shaved my head 3yrs ago and I really recommend it. I was in a place/state of mind if you know what I mean... the best way I can describe it is, dying and coming back to life. Kind of like a Phoenix. It takes a toll on you, like an emotional, mental and physical ride. It'll feel hard, exposed and many othe feelings at first but I can guarantee what happens to you afterwards is just... 💯
Happy New Year love. Am also 37 n I have been dealing with gray hair for a couple of years now. It's a herediatary thing for me n I have been dying my hair just to cover it up. But lately I have been not caring n just embracing it. 2 of my cousins that r siblings have been embracing it n they look great. N like u said it is part of life. Honestly, some of us just need to learn to embrace it in my opinion. I also feel n agree with u that the reason my hair is thin is bcuz of all the dyeing I've done to my hair. Tfs n am also excited to follow u on this journey together.
So excited for your gray hair journey. I’m 47 and have been letting my natural color grow for about 6 months. I have natural brown hair, but for years and years did blonde highlights, so I have a heavy demarcation, between my brown/gray hair and my blonde hair. Don’t care, though. Just feels right and saving a ton of money too.
Hi love ❤️ I have not dyed my hair for a good 8 months now, and I love my salt and pepper! It's like you said. This is me! 41 years old and loving it. ❤️ I wish you and your babies a wonderful year ❤️
Not quite grey, but stopped dying my hair oct.2020 and it was the best decision. My hair is finally getting length on it and my natural curls are coming back! Good luck! 🖤✨️
I’m embracing my grey and the battle is the red tones in my hair. I’ve heard the best way to help is to put in bluish toner or shampoo in because the red is a harsh contrast. So I’ll look for a mushroom blonde/brown.
I’m so excited for you to discover your natural sparkles. I stopped coloring my hair back in 2012. I love what nature gave me. Welcome to the sisterhood! 🖤🤎🩶🤍
Happy New Year! I’m so excited to follow your hair journey! You have been a hair inspiration for me since the beginning of your channel 😊 I can’t tell you how many times I showed my hairdresser your videos and told her that’s the hairstyle I want! I was tired of dying my hair and stopped 2 1/2 years ago and I’m so happy I did! Get ready to have the healthiest hair in your life because I didn’t realize how damaging coloring my hair was until I had virgin hair again, it’s been amazing. Also… get ready to rock your natural gray highlights girl! As a dark haired brunette I always wanted highlights/dimension to my all over dark hair and didn’t realize I was covering up my natural streaks until I stopped dying it. Now I have natural highlights from mother nature that suit me perfectly. I now sometimes use a direct dye in fun colors like pinks and purples to tint my grays and it’s so fun and only lasts about a month without damaging my hair since there’s no chemical processing with direct dyes, only temporary color deposit. After it washes out, I rock my grays again. Just prepare yourself mentally because of course there will be highs and lows, some days I loved the process and some days I hated it but stick with the journey and you will get there 😊 I know most say that it’ll take a year to really appreciate it, but actually give it about 2 years as I found that for me it took that long to grow it out to the length I wanted, it’s now past my clavicle and I want to grow it a bit longer. Treat yourself to really nice professional haircuts (trims) and styles while you are on the journey because even if the color changes get funky for awhile (and they will) at least with a great cut/style you can feel really confident and pretty even on the low days. This was the case for me anyway, even when I hated the grow out phase, the precision cut and style were my saving grace 😊 I will be following your journey and cheering you on silver sister ❤❤❤
Yes, Taco Rico is bomb!!!!! My husband used to work in the plaza next to them and my daughter hs band have had them at a few competitions. They are always a hit. I also recommend if your in Tucson 😋
I’ll be 44 on Feb 11th and I’ve been on my year long natural hair journey too. A few cuts and trimming along the way and enjoying the look of my silver. I’ve done all colors and looks too, so I was ready to do it. My hair is way healthier too! Have fun and hang in there through the transition period.
I started my silver hair journey right before I turned 47; I’ll be 51 next month and I get more compliments on my hair now than I ever did my whole life coloring! I was 22 when I started getting a LOT of gray. It’s so freeing to not worry about hair color anymore and my hair is in its healthiest state ever. I wish you so much love on your journey! 🫶🏼
I stopped dying my hair when I was working from home during Covid. It has been a journey, but now my hair has grown passed my shoulder blades (salt and pepper with white streaks). There were some tough days, and what helped me was regular trims and I didn't mind going a little short for a bit. It felt like the process moved along faster that way for me. Every trim cut away the old dye. I no longer worry about my roots, my next dye, or itchy scalp from the dye. It has been nice. Also, if you change your mind, not a big deal. Do what makes you feel good. You'll look great no matter what! ❤😊
I’m 42. I’ve also tried embracing the grey but I could never hang for long. I haven’t dyed my hair for a few months and I have so much more grey hair! I’m also curious to see my natural hair color again and I want to grow it out but some days are a struggle and I really hate it.
I've been thinking about it for a few years too! I've been dying my hair since I was young, and now that I want my natural color, it's gone quite Grey. I've started the journey and have gone 6 months with no dye but eventually caved. I'm 38. Very excited for your journey and seeing your pattern! I have a skunk streak right on top of my head and some sprinkled throughout
I love you working on you.. im also doing the same thing this year after so many struggles w life, 3 boys to be strong and better for💜 would u consider perhaps only darkening the blonde to blend in the grays while it grows out? Take care, love the bday basket!
Kasey!Hello Silver Sister❤ I started going grey at 29 when I was pregnant with my daughter. I worked for many years in a corporate job. Allowing my grey to grow out was not an option as it was viewed as unprofessional. That was then but I can say now that I am over three years dye free. The first time I tried it lasted a year and then I let self doubt convince me to color it. People also had lots of opinions and some pretty hurtful comments. Steadfast Kasey❤
im 33 i been getting white hair and i plug it out im not ready and i feel i wont be ready until im like 50 that ill let my hair be. Now that im getting older im like no more birthdays im just not ready but hopefully ill change of mind.I do admire women that they let their hair be.. Saying hello from #CALI
I'm also trying to leave my hair alone and embrace my grays. I'm 39 and have about as much gray as you do. I've tried this before and failed. I'm giving myself until May/June to decide if I want to do any gray blending. Good luck on this journey! I'm on month one. 🖤 I thought it was month two. 😅
It’s spendy but you could have the rest died to match. And dying the rest to match the dark color helps too. 4 months in is when most give up. I’m excited, I’ve always thought you should grow yours out, it’s gonna look so good
And: your unique wisdom is just comming out of your head & is now more visible than ever for the outside world - LOVE your silver hair 🤍 naturalness is calling 💖💫🌹🌷
Hello earthlings 🖖🏻hi Casey I am 34 and have now noticed one or two Grey here n there on my head. I am totally embracing it. I was so excited to say the least. I am not a constant hair dyer but did so ever few years or so in between. I am not going to change my hair I have decided to embrace it because aging is such a beautiful thing I consider it as a badge.. I am here on this journey along with you xoxox ❤
I’m feeling really relieved at the comments that most of us got grays in our 20’s… I’m 27 and noticing it and TRYING not to let it bother me ( I’d be lying if I said it didn’t) but I only dyed my hair to get rid of the old grown out blonde balayage from my brunette hair.
I have a hard time letting mine go grey because of the line of demarcation. I got mine highlighted heavily and now I’m like I don’t know if that was a good idea either. I want to let my grey go but I’m nervous
I've been really thinking about doing this too. My hair is really dark and I am so afraid of the grow out. I wish I had never started coloring it. I'm 51 so I am possibly very silver
I’m 35 and I also have lots of grey hair none of my family has that not even my mom which she’s already getting close to her 70th at the end of the day it’s ok with me ❤
Im 36 turning 37 in April, and ive been thinking about stopping the non stop coloring circle myself. Ive been black, red, blue lol and now ive been blonde for about 3 years....Im just tired of the money issues with it and just sick of the non stop coloring.....-_-
Hi Kasey... I've been wanting to let my silver grow out but i just can't! Every time i say I'm going to i just end up touching up my roots. I'm brunette but have been dying my hair light golden brown. The most I've let my grown out go is 4 mths😅😅. I think i dread it because of how long my hair is and think it will take forever to grow out ( my hair is to my bottom 🙃
Ok, im in the same boat. 37 with the same amount of grey hair as you. Question though, do you or have you grown up drinking a lot of soda? I swear it has something to do with it.
Could it be caffeine? Caffeine seems to be a problem for everything. I’m trying to figure out my hormones and anxiety and everything recommends cutting out caffeine, I have geographic tongue and now I’m finding out caffeine could be a cause of it…I’m 27 and finding gray. I drank a lot of soda and tea as a kid! And now coffee and energy drinks 🤦🏻♀️ I should just quit for the money and health… but I’m a homeschool mom and I need energy to keep up all day
I don’t have much grey, maybe 10 that I can count lol but I’ve watched my mom embrace her greys from the beginning, and it’s helped me understand that it’s part of life, and doesn’t change my heart. It’s okay to embrace age. 🤍🤍
I’m so excited for this book of your life 🫶 so grateful to get watch you on this journey 🙏🏼 you have helped me through my own and know you are fully supported through this… lots of love and light 💕✨… 🥂 to a new book 😜

Literally, just what I needed today. You are so beautiful and brave for wanting to improve/heal the inner self. It’s inspired me.

Hi, if you get a haircolor box that matches your hair you would only need to dab your root area.

Will you still continue getting cosmetic procedures?
No offense 🙃
Can you share how you add your music to your videos ! 🙂
I tried blonde bayalage once an it was okay for a year. But man that bleach ruined my hair. Hair was just breaking apart and split ends for days.
Where did you get your little vacuum? I’ve been searching for one for my car. Also I love that you’re embracing your gray! So pretty ❤
Amazon!
I liked at 222, nice. Love your videos! I always look forward to them!!😊☮️🦋
Can you update us on your PMDD journey? 😢
I have a hard time letting mine go grey because of the line of demarcation. I got mine highlighted heavily and now I’m like I don’t know if that was a good idea either. I want to let my grey go but I’m nervous
Where did you get ur makeup vanity in the back?
I've been really thinking about doing this too. My hair is really dark and I am so afraid of the grow out. I wish I had never started coloring it. I'm 51 so I am possibly very silver
But if you never colored it wouldn't you still have had a line of demarcation or no?
love it
I’m 35 and I also have lots of grey hair none of my family has that not even my mom which she’s already getting close to her 70th at the end of the day it’s ok with me ❤
She is 70 with no greys?!
Im 36 turning 37 in April, and ive been thinking about stopping the non stop coloring circle myself. Ive been black, red, blue lol and now ive been blonde for about 3 years....Im just tired of the money issues with it and just sick of the non stop coloring.....-_-
I hope I feel like this one day. I'ma be 40 this year. 🫠
I'm on the journey with you 🫶
Do you still have your dogs?
I been having silver hair since three year
To catch up that would take 5 years for me to grow my hair that long. 😅
I’m 44 and luckily don’t have grey hair yet. I’ll probably go grey too. I’m not good at keeping up hair maintenance
36 here going on two months without hair color and my grey is coming in strong
No!!! It will age you. You are too young & beautiful
And now coffee and energy drinks 🤦🏻♀️ I should just quit for the money and health… but I’m a homeschool mom and I need energy to keep up all day
Is this a sign that I should stop highlighting and grow out my grey? 😄
Simple life... Like me..🫡
❤❤❤
🎉🎉🎉،،👍👍👍
I'm 33 and I still haven't gotten a gray hair 😮😭 I'm thankful , but like .. am I broken ? Lol. I've checked and not yet.. am I the only one
🖤
Color your hair
I don’t have much grey, maybe 10 that I can count lol but I’ve watched my mom embrace her greys from the beginning, and it’s helped me understand that it’s part of life, and doesn’t change my heart. It’s okay to embrace age. 🤍🤍
I’m so excited for this book of your life 🫶 so grateful to get watch you on this journey 🙏🏼 you have helped me through my own and know you are fully supported through this… lots of love and light 💕✨… 🥂 to a new book 😜
