Hiya Friends! My excitement for this episode of Home Made Happy is on another level... and as you watch, you'll know why! DIY Wooden Ceiling Beams, but make them renter friendly, easy, approachable... and not even wood at all (but they look like it). This is seriously a dream come true - something I never thought would be possible in an apartment, let alone a rental! In this video I also make the most stunning ceramic coasters using my Cricut machine that fit perfectly in my bedroom (and on my nightstands that I made a few episodes ago). I'm so happy about this episode of Home Made Happy... and that is what this series is all about. With love... - Dalia

I’ve been waiting for about a year for someone to come up with a diy for faux wood beams!! You’re a genius my friend!!🙌🏾🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼
You’re so lucky your husband helps and supports you with these DIY projects. My husband just sits down watching me struggle doing DIY and cleaning which has began to really really start annoying me a lot. Seeing your husband be so willing to help you get the house together makes me realize this is something I didn’t even realize I was missing that’s apart of my love language. Also this is soo creative I definitely want to try this out
Girl you need to raise your standards. You should talk to him about it
Esp the cleaning 0/10
girrrl I had one of those that just watched me do, paint, build, clean… I no longer have a husband. If I’m alone then let me BE alone.
🙄☹️
Life is short. I know we sometimes are trapped by circumstance, but you can ALWAYS set boundaries for what you will tolerate. Don't let anybody hang around you if they are unhelpful or don't have your back. Stand up for yourself sis. ♥
This is INGENIOUS! I love seeing how you problem solve and come up with rental friendly solutions.
Love it..thank you for sharing!!!!
Where'd you get your dress? So pretty.
Ummmmm. The dresses??!!?? Love love. And love love the outcome, such a smart girl!!! ❤️❤️
Give this gal a Nobel prize for DIY!
I love to see a fellow ADHDer follow their passion and embrace their hyperfocus and problem solving out of the box thinking (this time with actual boxes :D). It is very empowering to watch. Thank you!
It’s 2023 and I still use my cricut explore air 2. Cannot afford to upgrade to everyone there is or everyone that comes out. Frugal as I am I don’t feel a need to even if I can afford it. You did an amazing job darling. Thanks for sharing . Have a safe and blessed weekend
Unbelievable how realistic your paint job was!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱 Incredible job, wow.
This is absolutely the DIY cheat that I needed to see! My daughter has real wood beams in her place and ever since I saw them I wanted some in my house but I just figured it couldn't be. I have no problem and no shame cheating! I don't want to have to buy giant heavy real beams and then deal with installing them...I'm perfectly happy with this kind that I know is not going to fall on my head and kill me! It's just the look that I like, and this is what I'm going to do. I did not know you could buy those kind of boxes! So you have helped me a great deal...and with your other videos as well. I'll be watching more!
DIY aside , can we just talk about how gorgeous your dresses are 😍
Lol right I was do thinking that too Lol
Dalia... I'm so impressed. The way you thought out the entire process. Boxes, to gel, to command strips, to the small brackets. 👏👏Should you leave, don't use chalking for nail holes. Try a warm white crayon. Put pressure over hole. It melts inside. Not much to sand upside down. (I rent.. a lot nail holes) Bravo to you⚘ on your amazing project. Your smile of joy is priceless.
Whoa thanks for this! I usually just use a dove bar of soap 😆
@@GeniaBGolden Nice! I love this! 🧡 It's the sanding after the caulking that messes me up. Wall never looks the same. Be well
This is freaking amazing!
*A faster way to get the wood grain look could be to use the realistic wood grain contact paper (similar to the marble contact paper you used in your last apartment) over the boxes, instead of paint. This could help avoid gaps as well.
This is genius too, to use contact paper it would be so much faster, and it would also hide any bends or imperfections in the boxes aswell as cover the connecting boxes so smart. I may attempt it with contact paper
I was looking for a comment like this. That was my 1st thought!
This is exactly what I was coming to comment.. great minds think alike
OMG this was my first thought!!! She just used wood contact for the last apartment, bathroom.
I thought that's what she was going to do too! Maybe it would be too Shiney to look like real beams though? Not sure. Just a thought. I'm amazed at how realistic these look! They're beautiful!
Just when I thought i've already seen your best DIY creations... 🤯 Dalia girl you never cease to amaze me. You really are amazing and one of a kind because you just keep getting better and better. Excited for your next projects! Always looking forward to new episodes of this home made happy series ✨🌟
You are EXTREMELY talented. The next HGTV star for sure!
You have GOT TO be SO PROUD!!! I’m so glad I found your channel. TOU HO GURL!!!
I feel like the bulk of videos are people copying other people. This was so original! And I can't believe how great the end result was. Great job! I was so impressed!
I will never refer to myself as "creative" again. This is INSANE!! Geniuss
WOWWWW the creativity is just…. I can’t!!!
What this girl gonna do once she buys her own house. Lovely ideas Dalia!
I appreciate your use of respirators. Safety first!!! You are so creative and love watching your channel. keep it up.
I have been dreaming of this for years. I live in a house, but I do not have the money to put into real wood beams. This is pure magic!
The faux grain is so pretty, much prettier than contact paper.
Just found you and what a jewell you are! 1st video I've seen and after reading some of the comments, so looking forward to seeing what other "tricks you have up your sleeves". Wish we were neighbors, you are just precious to watch! Signed, this 59 & 3/4 year old fan
This video fr made me feel like “omg. A DIY I MIGHT be able to do?!” This is SO cute
That's genius. Looks real. Love your dress as well.
Omg!!! Are you kidding me! Wow! Wow! Wow! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 This is sooooo going on my diy must do projects! Thank you for sharing! 🥲🥲😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
You can buy a rocking stamp at the hardware store that creates a Perfect wood grain! You use it with stain over paint! It’s amazing!
I love your little “Ka-tuh-kah-pouh!” 🤯😊😂
This is SO INCREDIBLY underrated! I can't wait to do this
Thank you SO much for sharing all your hacks
Wow, they look like real beams. Incredible!
Very impressed with your logic - way to think outside those boxes 📦👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
OMG You have the most creative mind for thinking outside the box.
Thanks Dawna!
Can't believe this diy actually worked - wow!

You are so incredibly talented, Dalia!!! Beams look soooooo great!!!
The wood beams are flipping awesome! Would love to put these on my living room ceiling. Everything is possible after watching all these videos!
Idk how you come up with these ideas, but from one renter to another, thank you!!
The beams match the floor perfectly!
So F-ING brilliant like this should be millions of views going to do this in my living room rental!!!
WOW! That looks A-MA-ZING.... Congrats!
OH MY! OH MY GOD! So fantastic! You are right to be proud! So chefer of you. Beautiful! 😄
I thought at first you were gonna do the wood-look contac paper on the cardboard, but you went for the paint and brush. Totally approve :)))
Omg! Gorgeous! I cannot believe you thought of doing it that way!!!
Omgosh, this is my dream! I am doing this! So happy with this renter friendly hack! WOWZERS! Thank you!
You are literally a delight! Ugh such a genius!
Genius. Pure genius.
You are SO CLEVER!!! I’m in love with this idea!
The level of creativity!
This is amazing! Another DIY-er used a shower curtain to minimize the gooey stuff on the floor! That with the vinyl tape sounds perfect!
omg DALIA!!!! What are you out here doing to us??? I absolutely love all of your GENIUS and creative ways to achieve the impossible! You are INSPIRING, girl. Keep it up!!
Wow!! Those beams look amazing! I love that your husband gets involved in your projects! I can say how in awe I am about how great the beams look!! ❤️❤️
You are incredibly talented!! How you painted cardboard to look exactly like wood (I mean when you had it lying on the tile it practically blended in with the floor) is absolutely mind-blowing! Well done! You have become my new favorite DIY channel to watch 🙌🏼
Thank you so much!
That’s genius. As a lifelong renter myself, I’m always looking for renter-friendly ways to get the look I want. Thanks for being our guinea pig!
Best idea faux wood beams !! I love it in my next apartment I am so proud of you!! God bless.🤗🙏❤
Seriously 1,000 thumbs up… totally genius.
I’d be so stoked if I rented a place after you and you left all the hacks behind
I'm happy for you too. I own my house but never thought I could afford to have wood beams. You are a special kind of DIYer that I am proud to follow.
What a beautiful idea. Your beams are stunning.
You are so talented… who would have thought 🥰. Gonna remember this project for my house 🥰
Wooahhh, the closeups at the end! They totally look like wood!
That’s so freaking resourceful‼️ Amazing idea 💡

You have the patience of Job. Your mind is absolutely stunning. Jaw dropping talent. WOW you just elevate your channel. I see this featured in magazines ,Pinterest etc . All social media platforms. Love how your mind works. Such an inspiration to me. So glad I subscribe to your channel in it’s beginning stages. Have not disappointed. God bless you and your beautiful family. 😮 💪🏾👍🏾👏🏾❤️✝️
What sorcery did I just see here 😃 frikken genius 🧠
You and your husband are very creative loved the videos. Those beams look amazing.
Shocking how good these look!
Very clever. A tip for making wood grain on these boxes or anything would be to just buy a wood grain paddle that paints or rolls your wood grain. Would make it so much easier & faster but the way you did it looks great. You could also paint on the wood slats or ship lap in between if you wanted. Love the light that comes in your bedroom too. Way-to-go.
Those wood beams are so creative! Wow!
You are so talented.... you are making your home so beautiful
Dalia! Mind. BLOWN! 🤯 You are a literal genius!! They look sooooo good!!
This idea has been in my head for dayyyyyyyyysssssss 😭 I'm so happy I checked RUclips today
Yep this is a winner that we are going to see over and over on You tube and others recreated. You are so creative. Ingenious.
omg we LOVE an affordable & easily replicable DIY! brava, dalia!! it's STUNNING!! did you end up cutting to-size the extra boxes you had painted and filling the extra space?
Bravo! I’ve been searching for a way to do this, but couldn’t find where to get boxes to accomplish this! Thank you so much for referencing what you used! You’re videos are so personable and refreshing to watch :) I loved seeing the deer right outside your window too!
WOW, this is a game changer for your channel!
This was genius... You have broke the code.🤗🤗🤗 They turned out amazing🥰🥰🥰
you can use laminate paper that comes with wood grain look. that wood cover the gaps as well
My thoughts exactly
This is so freaking smart!!!
Absolutely amazing it turned out beautifully hun hats off to you and hubby.
You're a double genious. : )
Cool, renter friendly faux wood beams..And a new box opening hack. : )
I’m so proud of you!!!❤️ it makes me so happy to see you so happy about your work! You truly are gifted.
OMG! Genius! I’m gonna put beams EVERYWHERE. Thank you for sharing this!!!
😆
I bought something that came in a long box, covered it with woodgrain contact paper, and hung the unit on leveled picture bucks. It looks great like a patio! Looking for some more boxes to cut down!
These diy beams are STUNNING! I am amazed at how real they look and how easy this would be to replicate. You're making all of our interior decor dreams seem possible 🤩
Thank you for the inspiration. I tried it and I LOVE IT!! I spent a total of $38 for this DIY and that includes the gel stain 🥰
Wow, this is amazing!! Such a simple diy, but so impactful.
I love this idea! I’m redoing my room as an industrial rustic type so this is perfect! Thank you for your creativity!
Wood peel and stick would be a great alternative as well :)
These turned out amazing 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I so admire your tenacity...you know what you want and know how to get it!
Wish i could be the same...🙂
I admire your patience so much!
Omg, girl! This is literally the perfect solution for a beam problem I have! I have this beams all over my living room, because the ceilings are about 4m high and the previous renter built another level for the bedroom to go on top. But he used just regular raw wood with those huge screws still visible and I really want the just-wood-look. Definitely going to buy cardboard now! Thank you!
Definitely a genius idea. Came out great !
This is the most creative idea I have seen in a verrrrrry long time.
Well done and thank you for sharing with us!
This is absolutely incredible and looking forward to more- hope to recreate for my new apartment in the spring
They are gorgeous 😍 If you wouldn't have said anything...you would think those are real beams. You never cease to amaze me with all you ingenious ideas and solutions! Your room looks so good! I bet if you ever move again, the land lord would not mind keeping those in place. You just made your room look like you paid thousands for this fresh look 😍
You are a problem solving genius and I love watching how you brainstorm ideas no matter how long it takes you achieve. I only that wish you were my neighbor so my place would look as inviting as your previous apt and now this one. I'm really enjoying your "Home made happy
series"
I admire your determination.
Wow. That is so...wow
You have the best sponsors!!
