This new Kopaka set looks great
this new "SCCBS" system as the designers call it really has some potential! kids can quickly build sizable light weight humanoid things like CCBS, and it also fits really well with other system sets and allows for a whole lot of customization. Curious to see what they come up with in the future!
What's SCCBS?
@@proudtoshootpentax I looked it up online, and it seems The LEGO Group had a term called "Characters and Creature Building System," which they abbreviate at CCBS and use to refer to simplified building techniques for building characters and creatures, such as ball joints for mixels and bionicle, or racheted joints for mechs and posable figures. This set represents another attempt at this simplified building system, by using the new knee pieces to make construction faster, easier, and the figure more stable. The new abbreviation stands for "System Character and Creature Building System." Yes, it seems weird to duplicate the word "system" twice.
i slightly modified the build to fix the weapon size issue.
i took the flag and put it on one of the arms as a shoulder guard, then used the red 2x1 with clips to clip the katana to the end of the flagpole and turn it into a naginata(japanese sword-staff)
while still a bit short for a proper 2 handed naginata, it at least makes it a usable 1 handed weapon.
I love this set. The price point is great, the build is decent for a 6+ set and the minifigs are good for what they are. Just wish the mech had a slightly bigger katana.
You suggesting that the sawblade on the arm doubling as a shield made me realize that this set is practically a modern day Kopaka.
The colour-scheme of LEGO Ninjago Zane's Power Up Mech looks almost like that of the Seaspray figure from the Transformers: Hunt For the Decepticons toyline from 2010.
It's weird to me that the ball and socket joints for the ankles are not reversed (so with the ball attached to the leg and the socket to the foot), that would easily have allowed the feet to be able to rotate up and down further.
Maybe Lego doesn't want kids to move the feet too much, so it prevents weird poses that the set may not sustain and then fall.
As a hardcore Bionicle builder, I really don't understand how preventing poseability should be a plus for kids enjoyment.
However, when my little cousin had some old Hero Factory, he really went crazy and didn't like those because they couldn't stand still.
I used to have so much fun figuring out the reach of Bionicle sets/mocs poseability. It seems many kids don't, so Lego prevents this frustration.
2:20 You have a wonderful opportunity to introduce your audience to various concepts and terms regarding anatomy, engineering, architecture, and many other fields when reviewing sets.
When discussing articulation of mechs, dinos, monsters, etc, you can use proper anatomical terminology, in this case it was adduction, in other cases it will be flexion, extension, internal/external rotation, abduction, etc.
When discussing fixed armaments and weapons platforms you can describe the gun elevation, depression, and angle of rotation instead of saying "it can aim up and turn side to side this much."
Honestly, a very nice and simple set, highly reccomend!
Love how easy this set is to upgrade with minimal pieces so older fans can enjoy it too
I think these evo mechs are better than the marvel mechs. I feel like they play better in general and work better as boxing mechs rather than sword wielding mechs the curved arm and leg pieces work well for kicks and hook punches.
tbh i like it. Smaller mechs are great in my opinion! They just look so much more realistic compared to figures.
I tried to do an alt. build on this one... very challenging to create anything better than the official build imo.
fine set for the price and I think the new limbs are way better than how they used to do for small mechs, you can put it in so many more poses with that slight bend.
I think to fix the weapon all they'd need would be the big sword piece like came on Zane's titan mech and a few others, and attach it to one of the bar pieces..it's a legal connection and gives a MUCH bigger sword, fitting of this mech..
Really close range mech with that dagger. Should be easy to customize for posing.
good day when jang uploads multiple videos in a day
I want to like this set, but man I just can't accept those limb pieces personally, I know they're meant for young kids and all that but even in more expensive and complex sets they're showing up, and they look so much like they should have a ratchet joint in them.
If I force myself to look past that this is a pretty decent cheap set, and it looks like a good toy to be sure. Great review as always, Jang!
I also didt likle them at first, but boy when I got a fire dragon and I actually played with them - Its a GREAT piece.
if you put the saw blade in the hand of the mech u have a bit better articulation
Pls review red sons inferno jet next
If you put that katana in a reverse grip it looks a bit better in my opinion.
My six year old son just got this set and he loves it!
Great set for a quick Jang’s review fix. 😁
The issues with articulation of the shield shouldn't really exist. Just putting the shield in the mech's hand allows for much more mobility and posing.
hey jang can you give your opinion on the lego ninjago temple of celebrations
Pre-bent knees are fine and all, however pre-bent arms suck.
I was thinking of buying this set, firstly for the really nice dark azure and the amazing 10$ AU at my local store
I think the pearl gold ruins the ice ❄️ colour scheme
Tracking Jang's gunpla journey in the background:
Is that another RX-78-2 added? I believe it's the beyond global version, correct me if I'm wrong.
so many pieces from this set are big and specialized. If you're not gonna play with the mech as it is, I kind of don't recommend it for parts (I got it to meet a gift with purchase minimum)
My friend got 5 of these for pieces xD
so now i built 3 of the evo sets both dragons and zanes mech.
I like them for what they are, small little sets for a low budget good to bring kidds betwen 5-7 as a small present.
BUT what i realy dislike, the use of "unique" pices only used in these sets(for now) PART no 79896 from 71761 - Zane’s Power Up Mech EVO, this could have been 100% brick build but Lego choose tho make a specificpart only used for a 10€ uvp set.
i get realy bad Jack Stone vibes so REALY REALY BAD vibes
I got a question.
My Zane Mech EVO come in with a tape seal, rather than the regular thumb tab as in the video.
Does anyone know why there's a difference in the packaging like that? I've been questioning for a quite sometime now.
Yeah they still make both, seems random which you get. Hate the thumb tabs when they rip an expensive box
Out of topic jang I didn't receive a notification for this just to let you know 🤔
Hello
I'll buy that for ten dollars
EH. All I can say.
: D
Wow that has to be the most boring Lego set i’ve seen this year
i think lego really needs to let ninjago go, they're milking it so much
