- This is a review of LEGO Ninjago set 71786 Zane's Ice Dragon Creature! This 2-in-1 set officially releases on January 1st, 2023, contains a 5 minifigures: Core Zane, Core Pixal, The Bone King, a Bone Warrior, and a Bone Knight.

Fight me about this but I think that lego should have probably made this to be a dragon or beast in the ice chapter from season 11.

Shame that the new dragon heads weren't around for crystallised, these would've helped make the heads on the golden ultra dragon stand out more individually.
Im gonna be honest, the price is such a steal. $100 for a set that looks so big? Well its kinda like what the Ninja Dojo Temple is to be honest.
Big core sets are genuinely some of the best looking and best valued sets of ninjago

I absolutely cant wait to finally have a huge Zane dragon, Zane has always been my favorite ninja so this is my kinda set, the minifigures for the bone ghost guys look fantastic, never got a chance to see them up close.
Idk if this is a minority opinion or not, but I'm personally not a fan of the gold wings. I think it breaks the Ice theming and overwhelms all of the other colors so the only thing I pay attention to on the dragon is gold. Would've preferred blue or trans blue or something.
Also when I got Jay's Lightening Dragon Evo I sort of hoped for an intentionally bipedal dragon and Lego had shockingly given me one! Kinda neat.
And the naggy mom Pixal expression is amazing and I love it. You can just see her thinking "my husband is doing something stupid". (Yes in my mind they're married already if it won't happen in canon it can happen in my mind!!)

I am definately not a fan of the 6 legs, I inserts a duly want it to stand out but I still think it looks not great and it is a set I didn’t get and still won’t get
I believe that the "lower jaw" on the Bone Knight is meant to be a piece of armour: Specifically a bevor, which was worn with open-faced helmets like the sallet to cover the lower half of the face.
Similar also to the mengu (mask) worn in samurai armour.
The way the ankle joints are done on the mech model remind me a lot of the thigh joints on the powered up Skull Grinder Bionicle 2015 combo model.

Compared too loyds ultra golden dragon this is like 1000 times better, the price is such a good deal, while the golden dragon was WAY to overpriced. Also the new vilains are so cool, keep up the good work ❤️😊

Looking at the second build, it looks like an arctic godzilla wearing golden armour, I think anyone who likes godzilla or pacific rim would like this set.
I got this set recently and the ONLY flaw i see is that it is too fragile: some legs fell offa few times and lets not talk about the nails.
But overall the set is really good
For the EVO cockpit, it could work for a new jay mech with sand blue . Other than that, maybe vania?
Thanks for actually reviewing the alternate build!!!! It really sucked how most other reviewers just made a judgment of it based solely on the picture, which is basically like reviewing only 1 of a creator 3 in 1 set and then calling that a full review.
That cockpit piece could be used for some of the elemental masters. Ash, Neuro, Karlof, Shade.
I feel like the Sand Blue EVO torso would work well as a chestpiece for a PIxal EVO Mech, especially if it was -just- a Pixal EVO and not a Samurai Pixal EVO.
Otherwise, maaybe Maya (Nya & Jay's Mom), though I don't know if she ever got a minifig made. Possibly the Elemental Master of Smoke or Sound?

Yes Maya has a minifigure release from the Hands of Time wave, she was in the biggest set and I’m pretty sure is exclusive too!

I'm definitely getting this. If anything, I wanna get multiples so i can customize it and such. The dragon form definitely looks the best, but the mech form definitely has it's awesome aspects.
I got it for €80! Was very lucky to find such a discount for this (its around $85 for you americans)
the sand blue cockpit piece could be used for fugi-dove or shade so maybe you could make evo mechs for the elemental masters

The Sandblue Cockpit peace could make a great Karlof or master of smpke mech.
The sand blue EVO cockpit could work for some ToE elemental masters. Like Ash or Karloff.
And yes we saw this dragon in the dragon risings
You can use the evo cockpit to make a Scott evo mech !
With the gray mech cockpit you could make a Karloff mech

The mech cockpit could be used for an ash mech, if you where it make a mech video for the elemental masters

When I first saw this dragon, I thought they ruined a perfectly good dragon with extra legs. After seeing this video, I think the extra legs are genius.
This set is great but I just can’t get behind 6 legs. If I do get this set those middle legs are coming right off
It looks better with 4 legs, but maybe that's just me. Frees up some parts to hide some of the more unsightly parts of the dragon.
Quite literally one of the best ninjago dragons I’ve ever seen, kinda wish that there was fire earth and lightning versions of these dragons.

this is only set i like from new core wave as love dragon build and new villians but probly get it when its on sale as dont see it selling out super fast due to being core and be around for while.

So we got a few cool dragons lately. 2021 had the amazing legacy fire dragon. We also later got the Nya dragon and the lloyd legendary dragon. Now we have a Zane dragon. We only need a new Cole and Jay Dragon. Cole would be a standard dragon. Jay should be a Wyvern like Kai

I just really do not like the shape they used for the lower jaw. But that aside, I love that it's a six legged dragon, great getting Pixal again and the Bone King and warriors is nice too. But that dragon-mech-battle form is kinda cursed. All in all a very great set.

I didn’t know it had 6 legs that’s awesome but I actually like the jaw with how the bottom looks like a beard for the dragon yes it doesn’t look fully closed it would be an easy mod but it makes sense if the dragon would have a weak spot it would be that flat part on the bottom jaw with the thing that looks like a really snowy beard though. I’m gonna get this set since it’s Zane and he is the best ninja always been my favorite. Probably because I can relate to him in a couple ways
