My girlfriend who has passed was named Lucy. Every week I go and visit her grave for a few hours. She died of cancer . I met her at school before she was diagnosed and we were made for each other. I vowed that I would never love again and that I told her that I will meet her in heaven.

This i by far my fav song. I lost a very close friend of mine and ironicly her name was lucy. She took her own life 2 years ago and it still kills me to this day so i listen to this dong out of respect for her. Thank you skillet for making all of these wonderful songs.

This song need to be more recognized, the meaning is... i don't know what to say about.
The meaning is about a friend of theirs that decided to have an abortion with their child and they regretted it so much that they had serious mental trauma from it. So their therapist (basically) said for them to give their child a true funeral and an actual name. So they named their unborn child Lucy in remembrance of the baby they gave up. They truly felt like they had killed that poor child, but they knew they couldn't take care of her. Its an actual story they've told before.
Please don't pretend to know the meaning when you dont....

Sounds pathetic that I think about this song when I miss my dog.

He has said many times that this song is about a couple who aborted their child, after a week they started feeling a loss, and it continued so they went to a counselor who told them to treat it like a death to the family and give her a name. They got a headstone and held a funeral, and they named her Lucy.
