A perfect combo Dean! your wifey have taste and class. Now we need to talk about you permanently weighing down the fender and the negativ effect of that. Otherwise its a winner yet again.
Ha, theres nothing quite like wheels to devide 240 fans! Personally i dont go bigger than 15" and glad you went for the steels. The new turbo car looks mean in rattle can black! Congratulations on 5k dude you've worked so hard man 🤘
I'm genuinely surprised at how polarizing a set of wheels can be! hahaha I think the joy in having so many of these 240s is that we get to try so many different things. I was very happy with the Classic wheels we found and put on the silver 245 but that car deserved to be left OEM considering it's condition. If the silver 244 was in similar shape *maybe* I'd be more predisposed to going with an OEM wheel but I think I'll love the car more once we get it more put together like I've envisioned. I'm just happy you haven't tried to talk me out of the Super DTM idea yet, but maybe the comments will change my mind. 🤔
I agree!! Its fun to try different things. Could you imagine if all of our cars were 100% original and un modified? Im not sure the channel would be as interesting.
I’ve never understood why people get so upset at what wheels others are running on their own cars. I love the variety. But I got no room to talk cuz I run the hubcaps lol
Aaaagh! Not the Ford steelies, anything but the steelies. The BBS are the best alloys. I had a set of the alloys that came with the car. They are a pain in the a@#e to keep clean. Every slot has to be scrubbed. Too many slots. The alloys you put on after the steelies also look good.(Ocean classics). The alloys on the silver wagon are also good. Anything but the steelies. I'm still jealous of the choices you have. Cheers.
We are all too familiar with the hours it takes to keep wheels clean around here. The steel wheels aren’t only on it until we can afford some Super DTMs
New Mickey hand! RIP black-tape Mickey, see you in Valhalla. I’m surprised the 18s didn’t rub on the back when hitting bumps. I imagine it would if you lowered it.
Shawn I just want to say how grateful I am for you following the channel as long as you have. Black tape mickey hand is around somewhere but like most things I have, Ive misplaced it
From Ireland. Congratulations on reaching 5k subs Dean. Love the content from dragging it from its grave, getting it going to choosing wheels for it.. Maverick wheels are my favourite.
Hey Dean! Happy new year and congrats on 5k! 🎉Good to see your channel growing. Thanks for showing wheel options on silver 84. I'm also thinking of wheel options for my 240 wagon. Ole Lady loughing in your videos has that calming vibe that feels like home😊. Thanks for making the videos Dean. The best is yet to come guys!🎉
Hi Dean, loving your videos, I have 2- 240s here in Costa Rica (central america) and love them, did you install spacers? what is the bolt patern and the spacer measure? And regardind the turbo, how hard is it to do a diy turbo install? thanks, keep up the good videos.
Hey there!! Thanks for watching. I did install 25mm spacers for the steel wheels. The bolt pattern is 5x108. Turbo installation depends on your skill level. Its fairly simple.
I have the problem on my 245 that the weels on the rear axel is to far in. What kind of spacers do you have on the rear weels because it looks good on your car? Good video!
Late in the video i show a set of 25mm 5x108 spacers. This worked well with the Maverick wheels. Your results will vary depending on the offset of your wheels.
Steelies are better on that car, looks-wise. The BBS's are too nice for that jalopy--no disrespect--but you need a cleaner/sweeter ride to tie into a sweet set of wheels.
This is not good. simple steel discs look more organic, but the rubber should be higher, and the disc itself should be smaller in diameter. personally, I'm in favor of authenticity
That 240 need a MAJOR all round drop and those bbs alloys are cherry
Definitely needs more low!!!!
@@DeanofMachines nothing major, 35mm all round would suffice
@@itsmephil2255 just need to get them bought!!
@@DeanofMachines good luck and hope to see them soon 🤞
I love how the suspension slowly went up after you got off the hood
NGL I am a fan of the originals. Clean and classic.
The whole thing looks great on the original wheels. Quality 14in rubber is getting harder to come by though
True. But man, I love that Volvo.
Finally, a Volvo enthusiast that makes good videos!!!!!
Lets not get carried away just yet! They’re mediocre at best lol. Welcome to the channel.
Volvo Penta 100+ is the most perfect rim on a 240.. Great car looks really nice
I think you’re right! Such an iconic wheel. Id love to find a set somewhere
A perfect combo Dean! your wifey have taste and class.
Now we need to talk about you permanently weighing down the fender and the negativ effect of that.

Thank you Karl! I think as long as I put a seatbelt on the fender I should be able to hold it down safely!
Turbo everything 🤣 love this car. Great video buddy.
I can’t help it! I just like having fun!

I don’t know what I was expecting! Good news is, we have other 240s and other wheels!
Always love the Steelers they’re my favorite, but I think those BBS look the best on the car
I thought the steel wheels would be my favorite. I was wrong lol
I'm kinda jealous that you can find these Volvos. Binged your most recent videos and subbed.
Welcome to the party!
Very nice BBS Wheels 👌😉✌️
Its hard to beat a classic BBS!
steel wheels would look best if the car was lowered! and congrats on the 5k lets keep growing!
Springs are in the mail!!! Thank you for the support
This guy is like the southern Junkyard digs- he even got the beard
I appreciate that! Maybe someday Kevin will find his way to the channel.
I'm weak for steelies, but the turbines are my favourite. Not huge on the beebees.
I dont think the BBS is period correct, the lady is calling the shots on it though.
I'm genuinely surprised at how polarizing a set of wheels can be! hahaha

I like the steel wheels. They remind me of the standard Volvo ones I had on my 1974 144 DL
Thats a really good point Ian. Just simple old school steel wheels!
You could make the steelies fit by using a spare hub and a hydraulic press, but then the offset might be wrong..
Im not sure how that might play out.
@@DeanofMachines i just thought one could press the rim over a hub to widen the center hole a bit, as it was just a mm or two.
If i could go back, i would have re-drilled for the bmw pattern instead of 5x4.5 on the v8 wagon
Really? Why is that? More wheels available that are your taste?
I’d put the Maverick wheels on it and lower the car. That’s the look I’d want if I had a 240
Its a very simple and clean look isn’t it?

Good video - i would prefer the originals refurbed and it lowered slightly for my taste..... That exhaust needs sorting too!! No pressure

Very excited for brake upgrade time. The wheels look great. Glad you saved this one, lots of potential
Im not sure exactly what to do for it brake wise. I have some s60r stuff on the shelf…

Wow 😲, 1,000000 views. Congratulations 👏🎉. It's not an easy job to accomplish. Keep it up 👍 and extend the greetings 💗 to your wife.
Thank you!! We have a couple videos that did really well!!
No offense, but I prefer the OEM 25 spoke alloy GL wheels. Why not have them sandblasted and repainted?
I only have 3 and quality 14 inch tires are getting tough to source in the USA
I like the Oceans better. I like more sidewall on my wheels.
And because Monique is the bomb!!
The 17s? I agree on sidewall. The ocean dtms would be good for it!
Shes the man!
I am naming that new trailer car Oscar. It looks like a dumpster find and I'm here for it.

Mavericks. The oceans are too spindly. Like they skipped leg day.
The classics or the DTMs?
@@DeanofMachines Classics. The DTMs fill out a bit better
Steelies.
Its a classic look for sure!
Best OME Corona wheels changed to some sh*t...? Sad to see people without taste. :(

Nope not fan …..keep it original
Unfortunately it’s challenging to find quality 14 inch tires now :(
Great channel
