    We love our Winnebago Travato 2021KL with twin beds and a lithium package large enough to run anything. Auto start recharges the lithium when needed. No separate generator needed.

    First off, congrats on a very well done video. I am a Solis 59PX owner, and in so many ways you have 1-up'd Winnebago, beautiful fit and finish just like I would expect from Airstream. However, there is one major flaw where you completely missed the mark and just don't understand your target market well enough and that is using a black tank, rather than a Cassette toilet. Buyers of the Rangeline are not the same as Atlas owners who jump from RV park to RV park. A cassette is an absolute necessity. Most Class B owners park their Van right in their own driveway and you don't understand how convenient it is to be able to dump your cassette right into your own house toilet, or into a latrine in a state park, or a public toilet or porta-potty at a beach or a marina, or almost anywhere. Some places charge $30 just to dump your stupid black tank! This isn't a luxury diesel pusher, rather Rangeline buyers will be camping in all kinds of places, like off-the-grid boondocking, Harvest Host sites, National Parks, etc. Black tanks suck, unless all you do is camp at comfy RV parks with the diesel pushers and class A/C rigs and you can dump for free. Plus the smaller blank tank size in the Rangeline means you have to find a place to dump more often. What a compete pain in the A**. I've owned everything from a Berkshire Diesel pusher, a class C, a Hurricane Class A, to a GeoPro trailer. Class B owners want a cassette, period. I predict if you don't offer a cassette option on the Rangeline you will cut your market by 50%. I certainly won't considering upgrading my Solis to a Rangeline until you do. If you had offered a Cassette option or better yet, standard, I would seriously consider the upgrade. If you added the following, I would be completely sold:
    #1: Cassette Toilet
    #2: Lithium Batteries that could run the A/C (look at the 2023 Revel)
    #3: Reasonable Solar Panels (maybe 300-350 Watts)
    #4: Adaptive Cruise Control
    Beautiful rig though

    I would have serously considered this if it had a real Lithium package like Volta or Lithionics, 2nd alternator, and absolutely No Generator. Should have also been on a Ford Transit AWD chassis. Othewise, very nice interior, great layout, and fantastic job keeping it stealth (but try to get a lower profile A/C or Cruise N Comfort in v 2.0)

    • @chuan-kangshih78
      @chuan-kangshih78 2 года назад +3

      The power system of this Rangeline is the most desirable to me. Those huge battery packages seems nice on the paper, but you do not pay the big money for good use. Moreover, batteries are consumable goods. When they need to be replaced, it would be a big pain. On the other hand, the noise of the ultra quiet Onan generator is not objectionable at all. And you don’t need to use it most of the time. For these considerations, I just canceled my order for a Winnebago Boldt, which comes with a 12,800 watts lithium battery package and have set my eyes on the Pleasure Way Lexor TS. This new boy on the block from Airstream seems very attractive to me, too. Even better than Lexor, by adding just 70 amp of the lithium battery, Rangeline is entirety propaneless. This is indeed a very attractive motorhome. I only hope Airsteam will offer a rear lounge/sofa bed floor plan with this power system.

    Heating from the gas tank is a great idea and is the main reason why I would consider this van as my next RV.
    The only problem for me with this Ridgeline is a generator, I cannot imagine how a decent person can use it and make all people around at a campground hate you. Is it possible to replace it with a large Li-Ion battery pack like on Travato GL / KL?

    Not a fan of the old 'Silver Bullet Airstream', but they may have a contender with this one. Looks like a perfect camper (a little pricey tho), other 'get around town' daily/weekly family uses, too and love all the technology and 'getting the most out of every space' engineering! RAM has a 'BEV' in their relatively near future ... geared now to address Amazon's delivery requirements first ... and if Airstream picks up on that chassis/platform/electric 'Coach' they'll quickly become a 'Class B' leader.

    I certainly do appreciate and applaud Airstream’s launch of what appears to be a more aesthetically upscale Travato,.
    I currently find Coachmen’s Nova (admittedly, more expensive) providing a more compelling feature set.

    Please correct me if I’m mistaken on specification differences vs Nova:
    * NEW Truma Aventa 13.5K BTU A/C (3 Speeds, Dehumidifier and Night Mode)
    * Solid hardwood cabinetry (Not found on Pro Master competition)
    * Rockwool R-15 insulation (Best insulated of any Pro Master)
    * Imported European dual pane acrylic windows with solar reflective exterior pull-downs
    * Fresh tank and black tank above floor to protect water lines
    * Fiberglass shower (seamless)
    * 7.3 Cu Ft. Nova Kool refrigerator
    * Sumo Spring front and rear suspension
    * Roof rack with ladder
    * Shower Miser Water Saver
    * Q-Foam in sofas, jumpseat and twin beds
    OPTIONAL EQUIP
    * Kozy Wrap® upgraded insulation
    * Li3 Lithium Battery System includes: 630 amp-hour lithium battery with internal heater, Bluetooth battery management system and remote LCD display, second under hood alternator with multi-stage voltage regulator, Xantrex XC Pro 3000W inverter/charger with Bluetooth XC Remote, Xantrex Echo-charge (Charges chassis battery while plugged into shore power). Current AS owner. 2019 FC 25 RBT. Not my cup of tea but this looks like a very nice unit. FWD and efficient 3.6 V6 power makes for an easier upfit platform. Using regular gas to power everything is great idea. How many gallons gas tank? The front-end styling on the ProMaster Van has always been kind of an ugly duckling. Blacking out the front bumper/cover helps. Black/Grey tank included is major benefit. After all the upfitting how much cargo capacity is there? Rated to tow how much? 3500 LB hitch does not mean it can TOW 3500 LBS. Maybe small utility trailer? Does factory dash radio/stereo have SiriusXM capability? Hope Airstream does well with this model. Of course, price is important. MSRP? Like to see the company do well.

As to the Promaster: it has a very low rear axle. Plus this running boards will get hung up too easily. Plus I don’t trust their reliability. Don’t see the van life set spending the bucks on this anyway, but it’s nice that AS is offering a choice. BTW we have been Airstream trailer owners (28’) for 12 years.

      @@lefauxpas Yes I'm really very surprised that Airstream would partner with RAM Promaster on this one, with (all due) respect to Promaster but the Ford Transit chassis is just better all around in many ways! We have a 2016 Airstream 26U twin, absolutely love it!

    Is there a safeguard to keep generator from draining gas tank? It would suck to run out of gas while camping.

    • @Airstream-Inc
      @Airstream-Inc  2 года назад +3

      There is! The generator and heating and hot water system are fueled from a line installed above the quarter tank level of the gasoline tank preventing them from causing the tank to be depleted. If the gasoline falls below the 1/4 full level, the generator will not receive fuel and will not start.

    I purchased a new Airstream Rangeliner. It appears that the window in the sliding door was not installed properly. Neither Airstream or Ram consider it their problem to fix. Also, I have discovered that the generator is leaking gas. Apparently that will be up to Cummings to fix. All of this is very disapointing

    seperate hob is a strange one, requires room to store it but frees the counter. i think id prefer a fixed one. can still use the counter with a flush fitted hob and induction doesnt get hot. considering people use chopping boards anyway it seems like a nobrainer. also who wants a power lead on display while cooking. only benefit is you ca take the hob outside, but wasnt the only external plug on the wrong side of the van!! dont realy see the point in that rear layout. too high to use it for anything except sleep leaving only the front seats to lounge in. good for bike storage but why not make it a fixed bed with a nice backrest and a window
