This channel is pitiful for its mispronunciations. They must have watched quite a bit of the show to derive these insights, so how could they not know how to pronounce the name of one of the main characters? I know the narrator may not be the one who wrote this, but someone should have noted it in the script or something

I don't like how it's framed that motherhood was part of what made her a better person when she was literally FORCED into pregnancy when her husband tampered with her birth control. Also it just reinforces that a woman has to become a mother in order to grow as a person which just feels very devaluing for those who don't want children
She got pregnant and lost the baby , but realise she wanted a baby (the doctor told her she can’t have a child) , they tried surrogate but didn’t work out , after Carlos lost his vision so , she gave up having children , But they accidentally got married , So her two daughters aren’t actually because Carlos forced her
I don’t like how people love gaby even tho she was a predator. If Carlos slept with a 16 yr old male like she did y’all would never forgive him. It’s giving homophobia and double standards
@@Dolphinboidouble standards, yes. But I think you're reaching with homophobia because people would also be upset if Carlos slept with an underage female.
As a short person myself, I never minded it! There was an episode of "Project Runway" where 'ordinary' people were the models for clothing, and they were mentored by some of the professional models on the show. One of these was a slightly older, short lady, who quipped: "Everyone knows that five foot three is the perfect height for a model."
Her family line was the happiest from them all. I love this show, how they represented femininity and power, definitely female scriptwriter was involved in production
Exactly the height is the main requirement for modelling!!!! but too be honest I used to work for a photographer to help her to edit her photos, and she has heard horrible stories about modelling, its not as profitable for the models as it seems for the demands that are asked of them
I like how even though she didn't want kids from the jump. She ended up becoming very invested in her kids, going out of her way to do whatever is in their best interests. And when she found out she her daughter Juanita was swapped from birth and she met her birth daughter, it really brought out a different side to her. It goes to show that for all her flaws, she wasn't as self centered as she believed herself to be.
Honestly I Loved her Arc, she showed over and over again that she isn't willing to sacrafise herselves just to please others but immediatly to protect Others.

On top of that, Gaby was initially incredibly reluctant to take in Ana, but she ended up being a great guardian, right from the moment she yanked Ana out of that party
She was never actually in love with John, she was indeed in love with Carlos but there was an emotional detachment and she used John in order to fulfill that void. This is evident by the storyline in season 4 when she married Victor and starts the affair with Carlos. At the game night when Katherine mentions the John affair Victor said he didn't care and it wasn't a big deal and that showed her that she really did love Carlos because Carlos' reaction to the affair, in juxtaposition to Victor', proved Carlos was the man for her.
@@KrisBryant99 no, she never stopped loving Carlos. They only divorced the first time because of what you started but it was clear the love never went away, she even stated that when they ran into John at his restaurant and then Carlos had a business dinner there.
@stevennieves3327 oh you were referring to John when I misread for Carlos 😆 But yes she was always in love with Carlos and used John to fill whatever void she lacked.
Loved the video and would love to see Susan and Lynette analyzed as well - however small correction about Juanita believing she's "white rather than Latina". Latinos/latinas (not latinx, doesn't exist in Spanish and only english speaking folk use it) can be white, black, asian, etc. Latino is not a race and we usually simply refer to ourselves as latinos. That being said, she may have latin american ancestry but she herself is not latina, given that she was born and raised in the US and her parents did not teach her their ancestor's language or partake in their culture. I get that the US is more "strict" with how they view ancestry and enforce labels to divide americans into smaller communities within their society, but to claim to be from a country you know very little of, if not nothing at all, feels like mockery when we face very different struggles from a latino descendant in a first world country. This is all meant respectfully of course. Can't wait for the next upload ♥
@phantomconversations Thank you for your input! The Take is NEVER going to post a comment acknowledging and recognizing their mistake. It's very disappointing that they didn’t catch the comment that they made about Juanita at 4:20, which was very ignorant. I had to call it out, very harshly so, since they never correct themselves. I wonder how diverse their team is because there are many a time, that I just don't understand why their cultural ignorance is so very...blatant. I also posted a comment on how The Take, obviously, does not understand that being Latina/o is not about race it is more so about ancestry, meaning ethnicity. Anyone of any race or mixed race can be Latina/o. It reminds me of how people don't understand that being Hispanic has to do with language and nothing to do with race. Spaniards are Hispanic but not Latino, and Brazilians are Latinos but not Hispanic, whereas when it comes to Cubans, Venezuelans, Chileans,...etc. ; they are both Hispanic and Latinas/os.

4:20 ---> OMGee, The Take...!!! Juanita is of Latina descent but that is not her race even though she's obviously not white. I'm a little taken aback by you, absolutely NOT understanding the difference between race and ethnicity! You can be white/Caucasian or black/African, Mestiza/o, Indigenous, and any other race, AND be of Latina/o descent, whether you're hispanic (Spanish-speaking) or non-hispanic.
Isn’t she an awful mother? She doesn’t like her children’s image, she ratted out Grace’s parents to ICE to get more time with her. Not to mention, she’s not very nice to her children.
I would say she's a realistic mother. The worst storylines showed her confronting her flaws and the fact that she still carried her worst "values" into motherhood. I think the idea was to show how she slowly "shed" most of her selfish/narcissistic traits. But some actions are just impossible to overlook. It's even worse because they used Juanita as Gaby's antagonist, to the point where their mother/daughter relationship was difficult to believe at times. Gaby was the child of a loveless mother (and that’s putting it nicely), and she didn’t want kids herself. So it makes sense that she has no idea what to do. She's trying to mother both Juanita and herself at the same time, flip-flopping between being over-indulgent and extremely harsh. She tries to be the mom she never had, then overcorrects by trying to be the mom she thinks her kids need, and it’s hard to get it right. Carlos can see it because he came from a loving, caring family, but she just doesn't have that experience. Being loved and cared for by a mother never happened to her. She's full of love, good intentions, and maladaptive behaviors.
She's not a bad mom. Gaby never had an example of how to be a mom, considering how her own treated her. Gaby learned everything from scratch, and naturally, she made mistakes.
I like and dislike her because I see myself a little, having to be my own cheerleader but the thing is I don't have a face to just pick any guy. I like this analysis
