This is ridiculously amazing in every way.... An incredible mastery of composition, arrangement and voice. It just doesn’t get better than this.
This is the overpowring beauty of a really deep sadness combined with the poetry of such a frail voice like crystal. Profoundly moving.. I listen and it makes me cry.

They failed to impress me years ago at a gig of theirs when their Mac PC broke after 45 minutes, and they just did one crappy acoustic song, then ended the show. Pathetic.
Truly beautiful. She is, without a doubt, one of the most interesting and talented artists in the UK today.

I believe her real name is Alison Goldfrapp but I wanted to point out that Goldfrapp is a duo consisting of her and Will Gregory and not a solo act.

INCREDIBLE! I knew Goldfrapp, but these days I´m discovering her other slow pieces like Lovely Head, Horse Tears, Deer stop etc..I do love her voice and melodies in minor scales
Songwriting at its very best. Her voice is sublime and it sounds like a song for a classic French Film. Extraordinarily beautiful

This album is pure, stunning Goldfrapp perfection. It was shamefully, totally ignored by the media that year. In my opinion, if should have been entered for the Mercury Prize & it could have been a winner. Seems the judges wanted to seem 'down wiv da kids' though & so went more with the emerging new grime scene artists instead. Please....
No more needs to be said on that one. Anyone with taste knows what I mean.
Well said. This band are so original and beautiful and rare. A sublime album and performance. She has a stunningly evocative voice...real musicians backing her...and haunting lyrics. Three big handicaps in today's swamp produuce.
Spot on mate. I haven't heard an album which comes close to Tales Of Us since its release. Was fortunate to see it played on the tour that year.
@@johnmckinlay67 Tickets were all sold out so I missed the album tour. I'm sure it was brilliant. There are some great live clips on RUclips though & the black & white videos made for the singles are simply gorgeous too. I did see them on the one night they were shown in cinemas all over the country, they were superb on a big screen.

The needle in the musical haystack... those of us who have found this music and appreciate its beauty and perfection are the lucky ones.
The only superlative one can attach to this combination of composition, arrangement and performance is to say this is humanity at its highest level on a par with the wonders of nature therefore becoming one with the beauty that is life and universe.

This was the best performance on the night - Fantastic stuff. It surprised me a bit even though it was a slow song and the band were faced with real energy songs after them it was a brilliant and brave performance and it had the most impact. I really loved this song and on TV. It came across really well-well done never been a fan before because i have never heard their material but i am now !
