Ok you inspired me to restore my 1992 Bridgestone MB2 that has been sitting in my parents garage for the last 20 years.

THis was one of my first proper mountain biles, ended up a doner bike for a Stumpjumper frameset...Gripshift, Richey leavers and shimano V- brakes...loved it.

I didn't think this sort of work had any sort of following. But here it is! I'm working on a mtb frameset I made a long time ago. Intended to be a fixed gear single speed, It's of steel lugged construction. It will have a new fork because I messed up on the offset as well as a new paint job to get rid of the gloppy looking powdercoat. Wish me luck.

Awesome! Very helpful! You inspired me and I took my bike apart. It’s a 90s Cannondale. Trying to decide if I should send out headstock for service 🤔

Super excited to see what you do with this Hard Rock. My only non-trail bike is a 1992 Hard Rock that I converted to threadless and Bullmoose bars, and is going to get a Crust Clydesdale fork shortly. I just found a 1993 (I think) Hard Rock for my wife which is getting a 0mm Discord W(right) stem and drop bars. And I just found my friend a later 90s (I think) Hard Rock with a 1 1/8 steerer tube. Hard Rocks are the gift that keep on giving!

i have a project of finding the cheapest price possible bike but with decent safety and fit.
so i bought a "junk bike" then finding and solving problems, test ride it just like what an expnsive bikes can do, until it reached the decent enough mark.
so i know how to tell somebody with a very tight budget.
    currently around $70 full bike.

Just picked up my 6th vintage Specialized mtb (96 Rockhopper this time). Great deal at a bike swap meet: $20 for a bare frame and fork in excellent condition. Probably going 1x7 dropbar on it since it’s my size 17” which is usually hard to find. But first have to finish this 92 GT Karakoram in Tequila Sunrise that needs cranks, pedals, handlebars, stem, cables, seatpost, saddle…
