Great story ,made me emotional The courage and bravery shown by Soviets is remarkable, young shoulders laid down their life ,nurses doctors engineers everyone
Gene was AMAZING, what a beautiful dog! and THANK YOU SO MUCH for the English captions, i love our melodrama's and the "auto-translate" does not do them justice.

yes, SOVIETS were engage with probably up to 80 percent of Germany's military strength. With the power of Hollywood, it was well into adulthood before i knew a more balanced perspective on WW2. the arsenal of democracy (USA) was certainly incredibly important, but the BLOOD of the Soviet soldier (and citizenry) paved the way to victory.
Excelllent film director, photography and performances. Incrediabe survival skill of the children even in hard tmes. Animals are more inteligent than we believe. The WWII has demmonstrated heroc defense of the Red Army and the Sovit peole in defende of his homland and the defeat of the Nazism . In Latin Americ we know the cruelty and hatred of the facism. Thanks
Yes, we whose roots are in Central and South America understand the hatred against mankind of the fascists. Yet, in school they never taught us how the Russian people fought to survive the fascist invasion. They taught us the differences when in reality we have so much in common with them. I'm sad about that but, I'm happy that now I know better. Thank you, Star Media for everything.
OMG, Maria Andreeva is such an amazing actress. Kudo's to the rest of the characters on this series. I'm sad I'm missing my old favorites from Smersh, Under Military Law, and the Attackers + Attackers 2(Which she starred in as a pilot). This series was a lot more drawn out than the other series that StarMedia did previously. But it was a great watch. Maria is so damned beautiful! I love her hair! One thing that kept me glued to the screen is that it was declared as a 'True Story'. Wow. Fantastic Job StarMedia!!!! Love from Amerika!
So bittersweet. Russia fought with all their soul for EVERYTHING. It is so hard to say goodby to this series. I must go as I cannot see my screen with all the tears blinding me. Sentebey in USA at 79 y.o. 😥
Such an wonderful war film.. Everyone's excellent performance took us to that time and makes us feel crying . Thank you so much for uploading and subtitle.

One of the best Russian war movies I have watched,it has emotions & feelings & most aff comrade ship with unity. I also served our country's armed services for a long period & felt very impressed by actors & filming.Well done to entire movie crew. Regds ex.militery from Sri lanka.

@@clouxd3723 Same, to be honest. I was surprised. But I guess the good doggo was satisfied that they were now safe and so he saw his next duty and immediately went for it.
Maybe only in Russian: Джульбарс. However, the girl named the dog after a dog from a popular movie at that time. Perhaps the names in the film are fictional. Because many heroes of that war remained unknown. Even the Eternal Flame in Moscow is dedicated to the Unknown soldier. With the enormity of the battles on the Eastern Front and 27 million casualties, it is not surprising that many names have not been preserved. One Soviet veteran said that you didn't even always know the names of those with whom you were going into battle. Because you may be seeing this person for the last time. Many heroes and many exploits remained unknown. Because the exploits were not performed under the protocol. For example, there is a dispute about the name of the soldier Ivan Sirotinin, who alone with an anti-tank gun destroyed a column of German tanks and died shooting back from German infantry. At the beginning of the German invasion there was a lot of confusion and a lot of documents were lost. And his feat is known only from German reports and testimonies of local residents. PS. Although the end of the film suggests that work may have been done in the archives and the fate of the characters studied. But it is possible that the whole film is just fiction based on the real fact of the attack of 150 dogs. I read a story that the surviving and feral dogs attacked soldiers in German uniforms for a long time in those places.
Polyakov supposedly "chickened out" in the Battle of Moscow and was shot?(in the character summaries at the end) I wonder as he seemed quite courageous during the main part of the programme. It is a historical fact that the Stalinist establishment was brutal with any soldiers who might hesitate ,even briefly and innocent ones were shot for cowardice when it suited the establishment..but who knows with such mayhem? Easy to say from such a late perspective and he was the baddy for the story.. but chickening out is too simplified for a subtle story telling.
@gordonayres2609 Well, I expected as much. They portrayed him well enough as a troublemaker and, quite frankly, a dangerous man, in the series for his end to be desertion. Also, whoever translates the subtitles is doing the best they can but inevitably certain things are lost in translation. Literally. Fine series, though.
I watched all the episodes and loved it. So touching and made me shed a tear. What a beautiful story of love, survival and heroism.
The best series I have ever seen! I am over 80 years old. Thank you for the show and GOD bless you and yours !
... merci, Spacibe fot being so freaking good to help us all learn, share, and know what and how they've done.

Beautiful story inspired by real events. Anything is possible in life.

Fine series, though.
The Traitor was shot for deserting in the end, High Treason was the actual crime. Another sad miscarriage of Justice.
А зачем было снимать фильм в Крыму ? Чёрное море ...? Чё Брянских лесов мало , или Рязанских ? Чушь полная 👎💩
I read that Ukraine would consider this a pro-Russian movie. Politically incorrect.
