No background music, explained in detail, understandable in all the ways, slow but not too slow and no alternate agenda... I've literally been searching for your channel for months Thank you for being real and legit :)
I can never do 'leg in leg' as I always overthink it & doubt myself and end up sewing them the wrong way! Love seeing your 3 methods all in the 1 video. thanks!
Nice to have an overview like this with all application benefits mentioned! :) I always use the second method since it’s the only one that allows for all the options I might want. Top stitching the crotch and inner leg seams adds a lot of stability and longevity, so method 2 has a lot of benefits in that regard. And honestly it’s easier for me to just stick with one method, easier to remember as I never batch sew
Thank you for your video, I haven't sewn since I've had kids and haven't sewn pants in many years I always got confused with them, but my daughter's fave pants were beyond repair so we decided to make another pair using the old pants as a pattern, they turned out great, thanks for your tips 😊😊
I've seen the first two methods before and didn't know about the third method. But, with how you explained them all in such detail, it was very easy to follow all your methods. I'm wanting to make myself some PJ pants and think i will use the first one you showed us - like the name (leg - in - leg) you gave it. TYSM for sharing this video with us. 😉😻❣️😍👍
I LOVE how you did the front pockets, I did them for my daughter's pants a couple of yrs ago and last week I did them in a pair.of pants for me, I LOVE THOSE POCKETS❤️❤️
Thanks, it took me a couple of days to get each method - now I know how to sew, so I found out I must have a brain situation. to not get things right away, but patients is necessary and practice as you say works.thanks
Thank you so much! Fabrics are cute, aren't they? :) I was sewing ahead for fall/winter and wanted to take this opportunity to show different methods :)
THANK YOU!!! I'm just starting on sewing and your videos are absolutely wonderful for me who has no clue what I'm doing. Please take a like and subscribe, you're a champion!🥰🏆
In the first version you say you use this one for back or side zips. When sewing side or back do you just mark where your zipper will go and use basting stitch for that portion. Thank you so much for your channel.
Thank you so much! This is my first time using a pattern and or doing clothes in general and your tips are lifesaving! You make things look so easy! How do you sew pockets?
Yep, makes it for an easy and effortless hem. The only trouble - harder to undo it if you want to let out a hem later, after a year, for example (for a growing child), but in my case there is just about 1/2" of hem anyway, so I never had to let it out :) glad we are on the same sewing wave :)
I could be wrong I’m a visual learner, but with this, I would have to touch the fabric and look around I’m usually really good at this, but with this I got confused. 😊
Really liked the first method, looked so simple and efficient. I haven’t made anything yet 😅. How would you go about using a pair of trousers as a pattern? 😊
hello they're so pretty i have trouble finding material that is not see though, i wonder where you purchased that material, the colors are amazing as welll they turn out really pretty ❤
I got these at Surge fabric shop (online). This is French Terry. When I look for fabric for pants online I read the description and the weight of the fabric. That helps with determining how light or see through is going to be the fabric.
Absolutely! Fabric shop name is Surge Fabrics (it is online) and they have a great selection of different knits, a bit pricey for me, but I bought it some time ago when they had a big sale! This is French Terry :)
Thank you so much, I have a serger stitch that I have not been able to solve. Where can I share a picture for you to explain my adjustment of the threads?
Asking what is the bottom cuff material. Made of or what does it come in or called. Any help would be appreciated 🙏 thanks. How did you do the elastic waist band. Maybe need to do another video and the pocket cuts. Otherwise great build. 👍
Nonda, hello there- closed would be a bigger a jogger pant. In the RUclips search bar just type in - "how to draft jogger pants thoughtful creativity" and you should be able to find it".
Jeanene, I said - I like to use this method when I have a zipper or a button fly, and in that case you would construct the front crotch according to the zipper/button fly instructions and the rest of the steps are exactly same as in the video. If you need to know how to sew a Zipper fly, video is here - ruclips.net/video/gNbrGVJfHZY/видео.html
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I don't need to know how to make a zipper fly, but it would be helpful to see you sew the center front seam with a zipper fly. I always put the zipper in first, and sometimes sewing that remaining seam is tricky, so I would have loved to see that done properly, your way.
The part of your video of you doing the pants leg confused me a little because u said to bring the fabric print to the outside but clearly when the video cut back the print is on the inside so you can sew the crotch and leg together I was like wait what what is going on lol
Hello there, not sure which method you're referring to, but I find that for people, especially with first method, it helps if you do tiny pants (Barbie size) and try it out, once you get used to how it works, turning one leg out and leaving the other one as is and then putting one inside the other - it is all very easy :) doing small samples helps with practice happy sewing!
@@ThoughtfulCreativity Great idea. Thanks. This really good for me. I am a hearing, seeing and doing kind-a gal so the small size is such a great idea. I can put them in my garment stash box with a little note on each example as a reminder. (I am trying to work through my garment stash...I want to use what I have on hand.)
Hi. Do you know any organization like Dress for a Girl around the word that is looking for people who sew pants for boys? Right now I am making dresses using your pattern for Girls around the world; but I would also like to have something for boys. Hope you know some. Thanks!!!!

Very true about topstitching, crotch is the area that gets a lot of stress during wear
Your pants looks store bought ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing ! You are so sweet & kind. I use both 1 & 2. Your videos are so easy to fallow.
Method #1 is the most easest to sew, and love the tip to sew them flat first 👍
I think the same :) thank you!

Thanks so much for this❤
I always do method #1, but never thought to sew the hem flat before doing the inner seam!
You’re awesome. Thanks
I’ve used the hem it when there is only one side seam done in many many many garments.

That leg & leg technique is always hard for me..!! I literally get so frustrated.
Do you currently have a video on how you assemble the pockets on these pants?

Cathleen, hello there - I have numerous videos about drafting and cutting pants on my channel :)
Sewing is the later stage, proper cutting of the pants needs guidance.
