Eskom will never attract the people it needs under these circumstances. Skilled engineers etc have a choice: A) Work for Eskom which is corrupt, has falling morale, is undermined by politicians, you need to wear a bulletproof vest, you get abused by the public who do not understand the situation properly. B) Take your skills oversea where you and your family are safe. And get paid 5x as much!

There was more load shedding in the last 6 months of 2022 than in the rest of Eskom's 99 year history combined. Nothing has improved so it can only get worse. So far 2023 is about 2x as bad as 2022. This is bad for everyone else, but good for the crooks.
