I’m 73. I have to have a flashlight in my pocket at all times.
Amazing how you can’t find things you set down or drop, but add a quality flashlight with at least 3 brightness levels and VIOLA…there it is.
I still do armed security and a Fenix TK20R with dual tail switches is my current fav. Instant light or INSTANT strobe is so nice. Nothing goes faster than light. With 3000 LMN, you can mess up a person’s OODA Loop at distance. Gotta love it.

@@perrywaaz3660 Depending upon the reflector in your flashlight , it may appear brighter.
Lumens are a funny animal. While more lumens does provide more brightness, distance is a function of the focal plane of the lens. I have a 1,000 lumen flashlight that shines at least 100 yards farther than the 3,000.
At least that has been my experience. I studied how they calculate flashlight brightness, but it was long ago. I just remember there wasn’t an industry standard. Not sure if there is now.

I know this isn’t for everyone, but I’ve gotten used to using the two Bibles on my phone, instead of carrying a hard copy. I don’t mind the smaller size of the screen versus a regular Bible and I often use the audio option with ear buds. It’s handy, always with me, and adds no weight to my backpack.

I carry a steel body flashlight that is super bright, my backpack always has an IFAK, and always has my Bible in it (It is nice to see that pop up in the video). My car is fitted out with enough gear to make it home without any trouble, if I have to ditch the car. I carry more, but I don't want to yammer on to much. Thank you, and God Bless you!

You can find a Christian support network and come out of college a lump of coal transformed into a diamond from the pressure of professors, peers, and the world to reject your faith. Others enter college and cannot withstand the mockery, the hatred openly expressed, or the temptations of the world and find it easier to leave their faith. This story is nothing new, but the colleges themselves, both the professors and administrators, have chosen a side, and it is not yours. When I attended college in the eighties, few of my professors agreed with me, but they welcomed the debate. By the time my kids attended, those debates would have had me reported to the dean. I hope you have a great college experience, but keep your head on a spiritual and academic swivel. Just because the person at the front of the room says it, and fifty other people agree, that doesn't make it true.

I’m glad you touched on dialing back the “bat belt”. I’m going through that process now. My belt and pockets have become a hardware store. I’ve resigned myself to leaving my flashlight, Leatherman, and a lot of other gadgets in the truck. It was getting ridiculous, and I’m glad I’m not the only one who has reached that conclusion.

Always love to see your EDC! -- Watch wise I rock the Garmin Instinct 2X Tactical, the flashlight on it is also surprisingly useful and because it's a low power watch the Solar power can really let you not have to charge it nearly as often in the summer time (GPS use dependent). I still carry a flashlight as for my job it's come in surprisingly useful all the time.
I like seeing how your EDC grew and then backed off to what is more sustainable. My own had to do the same to where I also leave a better equipped EDC bag in the truck or commuter backpack, I even removed the pocket knife from the pocket to the backpack most of the time and have a Leatherman Signal for the pocket knife day to day.
    Nice vid!

1 option to replace your trauma shears is a folding utility knife using the hooked carpet/linoleum blade. Great as a seat belt cutter and removing clothing for wound treatment with reduced risk of additional injury. Plus the blades are replaceable so they are always sharp and ready to work.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and aspirin. More likely to see a dangerous allergic reaction or chest pain than gsw. I’ve needed it at church several times. It takes up almost no room. Dirt cheap. Over the counter possible lifesaving meds. Low risk for novice use.
Long acting non sedating antihistamine like loratadine not a bad follow up for Benadryl, especially if remote from care or little kids.
Narcan is another consideration for your medical bag, but a bit much for on body all the time.

Love the medical ankle holster, have had it for a year or two and I greatly feel like I'm missing something if I leave home without it. Was recently fired for the leatherman skeletool I keep in there, after being asked to fix something and having the tool to do so. They also noted the tourniquet and narcan I keep in there in my termination letter, not understanding why one would carry that. For reference I work(ed) downtown in a majorly liberal city with a rampant drug problem. With the narcan I was more concerned about visiting families and an innocent kid picking up a contaminated object.

The reason you can fight with a subcompact gun like it's a compact gun is because by the time you stick a compensator on the end of it, it is a compact gun.

I love my T1 Xiphos Elite. Seriously considering a T1-M to downsize just a tad. Especially for the wintertime when the holidays meals take effect on the mid-section. :)

I'd rather carry my Victorinox Swiss Army knife in my pocket than a locking knife.
(12:07) I agree with you, mate! There are a lot of people who become EDC accumulator. There are lots of strict countries with heavy restrictions if you want to carry something similar to yours.

Me too! Moved from Glock over to it. Probably not changing it out any time soon.

Trauma Shears = Leatherman Raptor folding Shears. They work well and are compact in the WP leg med kit.

Get a pair of Raptors. I’ve been using one (EMS) ever since they came out. They fold and are great. They are heavier than those el cheapo trauma shears, but they are a whole lot better. With practice, you can open/close them one handed too.

You should check out the Stiletto Pro 2 second gen. It has two LEDs and is much brighter and more reliable. They solved the heat sink issues.

You ditched the flashlight but kept the lock pick kit? Which one are you more likely to use?

Is that the xiphos elite with a mag carrier added? The axis elite doesn’t have holes in the holster body. Also the axis elite has 4 holes where the shock cord goes rather than 3
