  • Five totally different words with different meanings were all mistranslated to the English word repent. Two Hebrew words and Three Greek ones. Can you imagine why there is so much confusion about this English Word. It should have never been put in the Bible. The English word has nothing to do with the original Words. Take a few minutes and understand this.
    Do you know for sure that if you were to die you would go to heaven? This is the most important topic. To go to heaven you need to be perfect, but no one is. So, there is only one Solution. Jesus Christ. He took your sin, your shame, your guilt and your punishment. He died on the cross and rose from the dead. He said that if you trust Him as the One, Who died on the cross for your sins, or as your Savior. You will have eternal life and you will go to heaven. Do this right now....
    Then once that is settled, watch the videos, like, subscribe, and comment. :-)

    YOU ARE SO RIGHT!Lots of people are confused about repentance. It is often explained as turning from sin as a step in being saved. If this WERE true, Heaven would be empty because none of us has actually turned from LL our sins. Thank God for grace!

      Hi, Freddie, How are you? I've prayed for your health!!! You're absolutely right.... When people here tell me that they need to turn from all of their sins, I always ask them: "Have you ever met a person, who has actually done that?" And their answer is always: "No one!" Thank you so much! I'd love to talk with you sometime!

      I hear you! Another problem has been the sabotaging of good free grace channels like Bible line with Catholic Apologists, who never tell you who they are but make it obvious after a few replies. I’ve decided not to chat with them as they are not here to learn but indoctrinate heresy.

      Yes, I do know what you mean. I sometimes get them too.... Believe it or not, but for the channel it's good, when there is interaction... Even if you wrote on the Bible Line channel something like. "Interesting" on their posts, it would help Bible Line...

    Thank you for this! I didn't know about all 5 words, but I did know about metanoia - and I try to explain this in regards to salvation but some people really struggle to believe it.

    • @TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel
      @TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, it's complicated to explain that. It's to use the illustration, kind of like telling someone when it says "paint brush" it's really a screwdriver. That's why I think the only way to really explain it is go back to the original language. And I want these videos to be a tool for everyone to be able to share the videos with others, that way, they don't need to feel the weight of explaining somewhat technical things.

    Very convincing presentation on what repentance means for salvation! I’m not really sure why Dr. Bob Wilkin sees repentance as turning from sin, while not believing that repentance is necessary for salvation? He goes into context and attempts to say that this word always involved a change in actions, yet I haven’t heard him explain its connection to salvation as Kees has done. Dr. Andy Woods presents repentance like Kees as well I’m pleased to say!

    So what does it mean when the bible talks about someone who needs to repent of a sin, does that mean to change your mind about a sin? Why would God be so concerned what we think about something? It must mean a change of mind that results in a change of direction or behavior.

    • @TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel
      @TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel  2 месяца назад

      Can you give me an example where the Bible talks about that? But to find out what that means, you would want to see what the word in the original is. Then one could interpret it.
      So, that is the issue, when you have five different words with different meanings that were mistranslated to "repent." To find out what the meaning is, we would have to go back to the Original and then we could know what the meaning is.
      But tell me, where did you find that in the Scriptures, so that we can look up what word was used.

      @@TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel Yes I can, many examples. But if you're aware of it, then why are you preaching this message? If you've read your bible you would see numerous passages calling "sinners" to repentance or repenting of specific sins all using the word repent or repentance. There many other passages that talk about the same thing without using the words repent or repentance. I would suggest you actually study scripture in full context and put aside your preconceptions or what you desire the message to be, and stop leading people down a path of damnation by suggesting or even hinting they can keep on sinning. yes God's grace is a gift, but our ransom was purchased at a price.

Note; it doesn't say I've come to call unbelievers to repentance, but sinners. Christ doesn't emphasis our state of mind, how we think about something, so simply changing one's mind is not enough..Christ talks about are actions, words and behaviors...you know what,,I'll be back with another..

      Thank you so much, I didn't see a double post.
      All of these verses are from a translation.... I believe it's a mistranslation. When one translates, things get lost. Especially when a translator bases his translation, not on the language, but on a catholic teaching in the Latin Vulgate. Obviously, God did not have to turn from sin. Genesis 6:6....
      Now watch this short video and you'll see how that word "METANOIA" was used in the Greek, which most of those verses in that video came from. That's the real issue. What does the Greek and Hebrew say.... Not what does the English say a word means.
      Here is the video. You can see how METANOIA could not mean to "turn from sin." There are some very clear Greek examples there.

    John 3:16
    For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
    Beleive is in Greek " Present tence. "
    Is it necessary to believe continually rest of our life in order to salvation?
    Believe (Greek: πιστεύω - pisteuō)
    Present Tense:
    John 3:16 - "πιστεύων" (pisteuōn) - "believing"
    John 5:24 - "πιστεύων" (pisteuōn) - "believes"
    Acts 16:31 - "πίστευσον" (pisteuson) - "believe" (aorist imperative)

      Wow, this is a great post. I love it. One Passage that makes that very clear is found in Ephesians 1:13,14. There It talks about how on the moment that we believe that we were given the Holy Spirit as a guarantee that we have eternal life. Otherwise we could never have eternal security, because we might die in a moment of unbelief or maybe panic.... I could imagine someone, who gets in a bad car accident and lives for 10 minutes that that person might have a lot of panic and pain.... and might be thinking who knows what....
