The quest bed Lord English landed on was actually from Felt-Dave (the one Terezi got killed via coin flip, Jack slit his throat). In fact, most of the ghosts LE killed were ones we'd seen die on-screen: the John that faced his denizen, the Dave that tried to stop DD, the Nepeta and Karkat from Roxy: Sleepwalk, and the God Tier Feferi and Eridan that healed WV.
I personally like to think that since there were two players sharing the same location, both Calliope's and Caliborn's Kernelsprites spawned in the same physical location and tried to prototype each other, eventually creating a black hole.
Then why did she have a Dreamself on Prospit if she was never meant to enter? She claimed that Skaia's prophecies seemed to be changing, as if something were changing from what was supposed to happen. I think it's entirely possible she was originally a full player with her own Kernelsprite, but in keeping with the way Cherubs are two souls in one body, their equipment manifests as two Kernelsprites in one Cruxtruder. Plus the 'Kernel' was alternating between their colours as if confused.
The one we see is alternating between Caliborn-coloured and Calliope-coloured, though. I don't see why that can't be interpreted as two Kernelsprites sharing the same space. If I've missed some in-comic explanation that nullifies my idea (which I'm fine with disregarding if it's unequivocally contradicted by the source material) please let me know. I just can't find anything that says it was definitely a single Kernelsprite, or says that two prototyping can't be what causes the collapse.
Well, I don't really agree with that, but I can see how it might make sense. How about the fact that there might be an Alt Calliope out there? For her to have a powerful version of herself, she'd have had to have entered the game in Caliborns place, played through her planet and made her choice at the Denizen. If she didn't have a Kernel to begin with and wasn't destined to get in, how did she get in (if we believe Calliope's theory)?

Because running will totally make a difference if he blows up the universe
But you could always take some precautions and make sure he knows beforehand that you’re here to serve him. He doesn’t kill useful people :D
