- Portugal is the leading country of cork exportation in the world. From cork oak forests to manufacturing factories, every step is strictly legislated for protecting precious tree species. Apart from producing wine stoppers, cork bark is also used to develop eco-fashion and various items, including accessories, furniture, even clothes.

So that's where cork comes from! I always thought it was from some sea creature. Fascinating that bark can be stripped from a tree and the tree survives to produce more bark.
Natural sponge comes from a sea creature. That might be what you're confusing with cork.
I love that they have found ways to use all the bark for various things. And by the way, that cork hat looks rather nice :-)
Only 40,629 views? Are you kidding me? With all of the wine drinkers in the world, this video should have 1 billion views. No respect!
