Jelly Roll Opens Up About His Health, Having A Baby With Bunnie & Pressures Of Success

- Recorded: May 23rd 2024 | On this weeks episode this boys are back after a little vacation. There is a new boy among us, Sherman Young, so we had to welcome him to the pod. Will was on vacation in "Italy" (30a) and wants to show off his tan and the boys answer some fan questions.
Following the intro, we have a fan favorite join us on the bus again, Jelly Roll. Jelly has been absolutely crushing life and is on the bus to recap some of it with the boys. He has won a bunch of different awards, been on American Idol and The Voice, talked to congress about the drug problem that is going on in America along with a bunch of other topics. Jelly gets into his journey of trying to be a healthier version of himself and all of the trials and tribulations of that. He also talks about his dreams in giving back to the youth of Nashville as well as his dreams in playing the last show at Nissan Stadium. This podcast jumps around all over the place, but that's typically what happens when Jelly joins the boys. Bunch of laughs, some serious convos and just overall a good time. Enjoy fellas!

When jelly came to Augusta Georgia for the masters, he did a private concert at a hospitality tent across the river in North Augusta, SC and i got to meet him and take a picture. Hes such a nice and humble guy. Been a fan since Whiskey Weed n Waffle house.

jelly talking about no one showing up to his bday is all of us. okay, not all of us, but more than he may think. i had a sweet sixteen that pretty much went that way……my older brother brought a bunch of his friends so it helped-but my party was about 3 kids my age. 😆 of course, that was a long time ago-but it actually is good to know that these experiences happen to everyone and also that it really doesn’t matter. just nice to hear it’s not just my story.

Mcdonalds fries are always old, soggy and taste funny. They're decent when fresh but they're rarely ever fresh

I use to like them and I will still eat them if they are hot, but the second they get cold, they become the worst fry ever.
Mcdonalds fries got worse throughout time by adding other ingredients (they are up to 19 different ingredients now in their french fries, look it up) and others like Wendys got much better by going more natural.

Sherm is such a great hire. Brings a good sense of humor to compliment the kings of the back of the bus JP and Jackie. I started following him on Twitter after Taylor reposted a video of his last year. I thought his humor was hilarious and original so I reached out asking for advice on photo shop and editing. He responded and was so genuinely cool and gave me great advice now I am working my dream job too. Shout out Sherm.

This has made me wanna go watch hustle & flow again! And I agree with Jelly, Terrance Howard’s performance in that was so damn good! But he’s honestly just that good in every character I’ve ever seen him do. I can see him being one of them tormented soul genius types who’s just literally too smart for his own good. I think his intelligence is a huge reason why he’s able to put himself into his characters so damn incredibly.
