The Taunus and Cortina MK4 and MK5 were the most beautiful looking cars Ford ever made ,absolutely classics
AKA the mk4 cortina here in England, a great era for euro Fords, i miss that Era of Fords with bordering on dangerous rear wheel drive handling that would punish the inexperienced driver made them really fun

Thanks for sharing. We in the USA never were offered the Taunus or any other European Ford models except for the Capri during the 1960s and 1970s. Our USDM offering from Ford during the same time were generally terrible compared to what Europe received.
Sportlich und doch elegant!
I owned an S model, the sporty version here in Switzerland. Amazingly well made, affordable and enjoyable car. The V6 was smooth like silk. The poor man’s Jag.

had 2 mk 5 cortinas years ago 1.6 gl 4 door was 1980 v reg and 1.3 l 2 door was a 1982 .. loves the cortina would truly want another mk 5 2 door to have for daily use..

Wirklich sehr schöner Taunus..etwas irritiert mich nur ..mein Stiefvater hatte einen silbergrauen 2,0 GL von 1977 ! .Bei dem war die Amarurenbrettbeleuchtung grün !! War das bei dem Ghia anders?

Den er bare for fed - og selvfølgelig skal Harry sidde ved siden af 😀😎 Jeg er vokset op i en Ford-familie med først Cortina, siden Taunus 1.6 Savoy og til sidst en Sierra. Taunus er en fantastisk klassiker, og V6-motoren er bare sprød. Tak for at du holder dette stykke historie kørende til glæde for mange, nu hvor bilerne efterhånden bliver lyd- og lugtfri 😉
Kanon flot, har haft en magen til i blå 4 dørs også Ghia model, den blev desværre stjålet.

I remember as a kid on holiday in Spain wondering why their Ford Cortinas were called Ford Taunus - until I started learning Spanish and realised ‘cortina’ means ‘curtain’ 😀

the mk3 Cortina, was the last UK constructed ....the mk4 and 5 , are merely rebranded ford Taunus .....that is also the case with Ford Granada

What the top speed of a 2.3 Auto ? Lovely car 👍
The fastest i've driven in it was 130km/h, but im pretty sure you could go 150-160, but at 5-6000RPM

Den er fin....en kammerat havde en mk3 coupe' , med motivlakering og vist nok en opboret 2.3 (2.4) .Det føltes næsten som en lille Mustang, at være med i den :)
