    OMG. Māuruuru roa! quel beau souvenir. Thank you so much Kanaloa for taking the time to produce and share this delight in the age of the Internet. I was fortunate to have lived, worked, got married (Papeeno Mairie), hiked, camped, partook, sang, danced, and sailed in Polynésie française a year 1978-79.

    Kimi, u rock! Thank you for sharing this. Gonna make em today with some shibi. You can also use the dried husk of a coconut to squeeze out the coconut milk. 🤙 If there is no cheesecloth avail. Very beautiful baby you have. Godspeed.

    I'll try this for sure, I'm such a sucker for anything with coconut milk. I'd put mango in it, though,mango and coconut just so good together. I love the way you live, Kimi... life on the backyard, summer kitchen, fresh and simple, unpretentious and pleasant and wholesome.

    Your videos are addicting. Try this coconut shell menu after you've scraped the coconut meat: white onion with salt and pepper in coconut milk but without the coconut water, take fish like the ahi meat that you scraped from the bones like you did in another video, place it in the coconut shell (obviously the end without holes), pour the coconut milk mixture just short of filling the shell so it doesn't boil over and bake high heat like 400 until lightly brown. Best flavor when thin layer of coconut left on shell that you scrape the heck out of with a spoon after you've eaten all the fish. It's a samoan dish called kao ipu

    Being from Oregon, kinda blew my mind to stand by a Banana tree on Oahu many years ago. Spent a couple months at Schofield Barracks for an exercise. Also did Air Assault training while I was there....which is where I was introduced to banana trees.

    Samoan dish called “Oka.”

  • @niafinau3246
    @niafinau3246 8 месяцев назад

    Question, Is this not apart of Hawaiian cuisine?
    Most of polynesia make this e.g. Samoans - Oka, Tongans - Ota Ika, Cook Islands - Ika mata or simply known as raw fish.
