- a short video shot around the site of the former Kiveton Park Colliery in Yorkshire with former miner, Paul Kelly, while on the way to watch FC United play Worksop Town FC, ( FC United won 3-2 by the way)
filmed & edited by Richard Searle
My father started work at Kiveton Park Colliery in 1932 at the age of 14, following my grandfather and great grandfather. I have two great uncles listed on the Roll of Honour at the old offices. My dad worked at Kiveton until 1959, apart from a break when he was one of the few miners who were called up in 1939. He moved to Bevercotes in 1959, and retired in 1981. He passed away last year (2013) at the age of 94. He spent most of his service working as a deputy.
many of my neighbours were miners at kiveton, my father was down the mine at waleswood until he was called up for ww2, sad to see the results of thatchers spite. she actually called people who kept the nation warm the enemy within & i still hate the cow.
1994. Not 2004.
It's in bloody Yorkshire!
they are pulling the baths down as we speak
Kiveton Park Is NOT in Nottingham. How dare you!
