Ka'ak Cookies

Ramadan Day 26: During the last few day of Ramadan I usually start preparing for the Eid holiday and make our favourite homemade goodies. Sharing my favourite Sudanese Kaak recipe, it is soft buttery shortbread with sesame seeds topped with icing sugar. How are your Eid preparations coming along.

∙1 kg all-purpose flour
∙600g clarified butter
∙1 tbsp. Baking powder
∙4 tbsp. Roasted sesame
∙ 2 tbsp. Milk powder
∙ 1/4 tsp. Salt
∙ 1 tsp. cardamon powder
∙ 1 tsp. Mahlab powder
∙ 1/4 cup warm milk
