You are a life saver I just broke the rack and pinion putting a new line on and was so worried I had to send it to a shop you make it seem simple enough that I can do it myself
Wonderful presentation! Excellent mechanic. Found this/your video today just after getting under friend's Kia Sedona to check out R & P that dealer said needs to be replaced. After watching this vid I can do work myself and save a bundle. Thank you.
I wrap the seatbelt through the steering wheel and then buckle it to make sure it doesn't turn. Marking it absolutely puts you very close to center but if it turns 180 degrees you wouldn't know. Just a tip from another mechanic. Good video.
Broo you help me so so much whit this video, I need change that part on my Kia Optima 2012 and I get the process whit you thank you so much. 🔥🔥 god bless u
Great Video! You have a new follower. Ill be posting my own when I do this job this weekend but the one im doing is a hydraulic/power steering fluid driven not electronic . Fluid is dumping out the dust boots of inner tie rods so time to rebuild/replace.
Your video was great and very informative however it's the first video that popped up when I searched 2011 Kia Sorento. The one you are working on has electric steering assist and mine is hydrologic bit of a difference
how similar is the 2013 Kia Forte? I was understanding you had to support the weight of the engine with a cherry picker or something if you drop the subframe on the Forte
I Guarantee this guy replaced this electronic powered rack n pinion And he never fixed the problem. Those rack n pinion rarely go bad Unless the car was in a serious accident or something was broken
Sorry but if I took my car to a shop and they charged me 800+ for a used rack and pinion that came from a junk yard I’d lose my shit lmaooo this why nobody touches my cars

This is a great video you explain things very clear. I'm wondering how long did actually take to complete the job
Great video! Very clear, makes it simple!

Excellent instruction, but don't you have to connect a hose or two from the power steering pump?
It is electric steering
I’m new to DIY, I’m trying to fix my Santa Fe this the only vid coming up, is it the same procedure?
excellent tutorial!
Thanks for making this video, was very helpful… good job!
Very informative! Thanks!
Do you have to clock the new rack and pinion?
Brooo u help me so so much whit this video bro! I need change that part on my Kia Optima and get the process whit this example video
How many hours did this take you? I'm an experienced DIYer. Shop wants $1000 labor to do this.
Nice work and good video. I may have missed it but how did you disconnect the fluid lines? I have a 2007 Santa Fe, would the procedure be the same?
The newer Hyundai and Kia have Electric Power Steering so it would not need the fluid.
Homies in the comments be like... "Lemme get dat converter and ratey and layley 😂"
do you have to program after replace or just alignment
Just alignment
Does anyone have any information on the torque specs? For reassembly of the whole thing.
I've never seen a mechanic use a torque wrench ever
Torque specs is build in our arm
I have a 2011 Kia Sorento, and the subframe does not disassemble in the same way.
Straight as posibre :)
How do you know when you need to replace your rack and pinion?
For me there is play,so you can hear a thumping noise when your turn left and right suddenly
We're are you located
The whole key to this is to have a lift !
Good Job
Thanks for sharing
Where you from
Bro what’s the part number
What does a job like this cost?
Pretty much the similar procedure like my Hyundai Elantra.
🔥🔥🔥

Sometimes they can get a bit dry resulting in a notchy steering at centre. Greasing usually solves that..
👍👍👍
superb

TQ sir!
Thanks for this vid, but it would be easier if you just came to my house and did it for me.😁
