Innovative approaches in the management of gastrointestinal cancers

Precision oncology has recently moved the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers from an organ-based to a molecular approach, targeting different subtypes. This shift is attracting a lot of research efforts.
According to ESMO President Prof. Andrés Cervantes, many innovative studies are expected and multidisciplinarity will be key to refine treatment strategies in the molecular era of cancer care.
