@@BenDover-ij7yp Okay, but I've also read a lot of similar books where the love interest is not rich at all and his abusive behavior is still romanticized. 50 Shades Of Grey is only one example and I'm pretty sure Christian Grey being attractive had a lot more to do with women loving it than him being rich. I've seen women do this in real life with men who are even much poorer than them. Men who didn't even have jobs. The guy in this video going through the girl's desk doesn't even seem to be rich at all. This video has a lot more to do with how women seem to be conditioned to find abusive and controlling behavior romantic. I don't know why you want to believe that women are so obsessed with money (when we could easily make it ourselves), but that's just not the case here. I'm not gonna get into an argument though. That's all I had to say.

@@vabashrestha2806 Its just that stupid women often confuse love with a BDSM fetish and completely misunderstanding an integral part of their sexuality seeps into their personal life in toxic ways
@@AvitalShtap Sadly, no. It's like a defense mechanism. They love the person, so they don't want to see the bad side of him, so they go through all sorts of mental gymnastics why clearly abusive behaviour is just gestures of love, because otherwise they'd have to confront the notion that their lover is an abuser. The worst case was a close friend I had known for many years since we were little children. Once they got together, he decided any and all places they went to, forbade her to speak to other men yet cheated on her in front of her, which she interpreted as "He just wants to test my love for him", broke her phones so she couldn't contact anyone without him knowing ("He just has anger problems, it has nothing to do with controlling me"), forbade her to meet with her family and talked her into thinking of her own mom and sister as sluts that are gonna tempt her, constantly beat her, threw stuff at her or threw her down the stairs ("But he apologizes to me after, crying and asking me to take him back, so obviously he loves me and knows it is wrong" only for him to beat her again the next day), of course she was not allowed to have a computer, he kept the money from her work (and often showed up there to make sure she wasn't getting too close to any coworkers or clients which was waved away with "Aw so cute he can't bear being away from me for a few hours even!") and he brought and took her back in his car whenever she wanted to meet with us, her female friends, she wasn't allowed to come by herself. Despite saying how cute and romantic and totally not obsessive and controlling and abusive his behaviour was, she was in tears and clearly distressed everytime she came to visit. We decided that can't go on and eventually she agreed. She saw a counselor (but didn't want police involved), tried to break up with her boyfriend, he beat her half to death but then proposed afterwards because "he couldn't live without her" and she was so touched that she said yes. As a result of our meddling, from then on she wasn't allowed to meet us anymore either, who "had tried to come between our love", so we lost all contact to her. From someone I know who hangs with the group that her now-husband belongs to from time to time, I know that they have two children now and she is the good little homemaker while he is out partying with other girls, be she isn't leaving him. I don't think that's how you treat someone you love, but any creepy, controlling behaviour down to outright abuse can be excused away if you are desperate enough to believe in the person that you don't WANT to face reality. This video was really hard to watch because there was always this fraction of a second after one of the girls presented a controlling fact about their boyfriend before the others ensured her that was SOOO romantic and lovely, a second of "I don't feel good about this but as long as everyone ensures me this is how a loving relationship is supposed to be, I'll keep convincing myself that it's fine. It's fine, right?"

@@Xxsorafan If you NEED your boyfriend to control your entire social life, stalk you wherever you go, and constantly make sure you aren't cheating on him, because otherwise you actually would, then something is seriously going wrong in the relationship in general, from your side. Can we get one on obsessive girlfriends? Cuz honestly I feel like we kinda sweep the domestic abuse of men under the table in this country. Dont get me wrong domestic abuse in general is a horrible thing but honestly we really dont have any kind of support for men in a domestic abuse situation. I've actually had girlfriends in the past do very similar things in the past to me and even had one cut me with a knife. When I tried calling the domestic abuse hotline they tried counciling me on not abusing her. I got no help from them and had to completely change my number and delete social media for a while. @@cottonkandi3 Most people in TV shows are terrible people. The entire cast of friends were terrible people. Same with HIMYM. Turns out, people are by and large terrible, full of cognitive biases, prone to tribalistic behaviors which inevitably cause suffering of 'other people', and incredibly self-centered. This largely arises from the fact that we're all suffering terribly, as the experience of being sentient in a universe which you only gradually begin to realize does not care about your existence at all is productive of huge amounts of anxiety, coupled with the fact that other terrible people are constantly trying to use you for their own advantage, even in small and seemingly benign ways. What is amazing in TV show writing is that they manage to get you to empathize with terrible people, and even like them. To be fair, we usually end of favoring the characters who are terrible in the same ways that we personally are, sometimes even failing to see how the qualities those people are presenting, like duplicity, avarice, inconsiderateness, are even terrible qualities, because that would involve honestly looking at ourselves and realizing that we are also, largely terrible.

@Sarah Ricci it's true. we shouldn't be so harsh towards people who get trapped in abusive relationships. but on a wider, more general sense, this toxic behaviour gets constantly perpetuated by society - by media, but also by our families and friends, sadly. and those who have the benefit of being outside of these kinds of relationships, despite seeing the real life consequences of them and having explained to them that this behaviour isn't healthy, will bend over backwards defending it and insist that it's the height of romance because they refuse to pull their heads out their asses.

@@honeybee4558 Millions of women purchasing the book and watching the movie sent that very messege. If the main character of that movie was a plumber and done all those things, it would have been horror movie, hated by women.
They broke up and he started blackmailing her, only THEN finally girl comes crawling to me asking for help.
This is just an example, but this has happened to multiple people I know and ofcourse I show concern and try to make them understand but they think that it won't happen to them, and, he's not like other guys or that becoming overjealous and possessive/obsessive is sooo hot.

@@eptile Wow that's harsh, I've seen this happen too and by the end is it all, the person losses all the ones that are close to them. I'm sorry this happened to your friend, but at the end of the day they are in control of their own actions.

As a guy, this whole video terrified me.
Well, there are actual girls who act like this out there unfortunately. It's emotional/financial dependence.
@@L5940 nah it's a combination of stupidity and low self-esteem.
Don't blame the women, only fucked up guys with no confidence in themselves or their relationships would ever act like this. It is disgusting.
@@ashleysmith1276 i mean, i don't want to blame women for getting trapped in abusive relationships. my issue is more with women who feed this kind of narrative and bend over backwards to justify creepy behaviour in men (who are not their boyfriends) because "romance".
@@cocolime6496 I've honestly seen this behaviour from a majority of my friends and also those who are in a relationship with overly obsessive/jealous guys.
It's actually really sad seeing your friends change because of that
This didn't pass the bechdel test
Failed with a Z minus
I've noticed that these types of boyfriends are never single. Apparently it's working for them
When they’re single they’re called incels
Women(and men), who are ok with that kind of relationship... have a couple screws loose up there.
part of me feels sorry for them because they've been taught that this is acceptable and they must have low self-worth, another part has no patience for that lack of perspective and desperation to not be alone.
@Sarah Ricci This. Right here. Could not have been more well said.
@Sarah Ricci Doesn't have to be romance either. I've met few people always being abusive, controlling and demeaning "because they love me" "for my own good" because they " know what's best for me". If you hear these phrases for more than two things in a year- run.
He hit me and it felt like a kiss.
Stream ultraviolence
Honestly, the fact that they wanted to do it and did it hurts me more than the physical pain.
