sir, small negative loop indicates that the work is taken from the engine (may be to move the piston from TDC to BDC). What about the small positive loop during the suction stroke. Similarly, could you explain the negative and positive loop during the exhaust stroke? Thank you!
During suction stroke first there is a small negative loop bcoz work is taken from the engine to move piston from TDC to BDC,a small positive loop during suction means that due to air entering into the cylinder a force is exerted by the air on the piston,so we get a small amount of positive work but it is not sufficient to drive the engine.During exhaust stroke,at first piston has to move up from BDC to TDC in order to remove the exhaust gases from the cylinder,so engine provides that work, hence a negative loop.Once the exhaust gases start moving out of the engine at high velocity then some of the gases will escape on their own without the piston moving them..so piston does not have to take more work from the engine.
The turning moment diagram for a petrol engine is drawn to a scale of 1mm to 6N-9-9m and the horizontal scale of 1mm to 1˚.The turning moment repeat itself after every half revolution of the engine. The area above and below the mean torque line are 305, 710, 50,350,980and 275mm2. The mass of rotating parts is 40kg at a radius of gyration of 140mm.Clculate the coefficient of fluctuation of speed if the mean speed is 1500rpm.

kurunandan shishaudhiya may be amount of energy requirement for completion of suction stroke is less but stored energy is supplied which was produced during power stroke is large so positive loop is formed as that amount of neither used during suction.
Prabhanjan Mishra At the beginning of suction stroke the piston has to work against the +ve pressure thus some energy from flywheel is consumed(negative loop). However after some 100-130deg. Into the suction stroke the charge of air has momentum to push the piston ...thus the little positive loop. The reason for exhaust is the same concept. I'm open for suggestions. Thanks

You are most welcome.
Nice sir 👍❤️
sir very hepful i have exams in 19 june 2019 of dom thanks for the lectures thanks alot
It is good
.....I want more ....problems on turning movement diagrams....
thank u for good concept. but we need some problems related to flywheels
Why small positive lope is in compressor stroke please reply asap
Sir Can we have a problem on this topic it will be more useful ..
Thank You
thanku sir ur lecture is very helpful
can i find your videos of balancing and dynamics force analysis ( tom-2)
During suction some part is positive and some negative. .why?
kurunandan shishaudhiya may be amount of energy requirement for completion of suction stroke is less but stored energy is supplied which was produced during power stroke is large so positive loop is formed as that amount of neither used during suction.
totally worng , +loop is caused by the momentum of the fresh charges entering during the suction stroke .

@@kailashchandrakar4958 what about exhaust stroke
Why there is a small +ve loop at the end of suction as well as exhaust loop in turning momemt diagram of four stroke ic engine?? plz explain it.
Prabhanjan Mishra
At the beginning of suction stroke the piston has to work against the +ve pressure thus some energy from flywheel is consumed(negative loop). However after some 100-130deg. Into the suction stroke the charge of air has momentum to push the piston ...thus the little positive loop.

good explanation ,thanks
Sir please also upload IC engine numerical...
