This is exactly what I needed. The RCA plugs on two of my sentimental vintage speakers is bad (and cable quite thin). So I'll repair following your lead and I do have a multimeter to determine which one is the signal or negative. I've got to order the RCA jacks, which is fine. But if there the 80s - early 00s-ish I could stroll over to Radio Shack and they'd have exactly what I needed! I miss that store man. Many thanks for your repair demonstration, I got the info I needed. 👍
Thanks for the video. I really don't feel like rerouting new RCA cables from my radio all the way to my amp in the back of my car. So this will definitely be a nice time saver.
Is it possible to wrap the stripped wire around its piece and clamp it down? I do not have access to a sodder and my wires run through my walls and I really don’t want to have to buy a sodder nor rewire. Is this possible? I know that the connection won’t be as strong without sodder but I’m not sure if that applies to video and audio signals.
It won’t be as secure but the tvs mount doesn’t move out so the cable won’t be unplugged till either the tv breaks or I move, as the cables go through the wall to a receiver.
Hello I have the cable with the yellow male like that and the power. I was trying to get through the rubber in my car and I damaged the end of the cable. I decided to cut and run the wire because it was thinner; now, I bought a new P2 power cable. Can I just cut it too and splice it to my old one? I saw that there are 3 wires. Or do you suggest to repair with a new plug?
Important message to avoid this repair.. never pull on the cable always grab the plug and pull it out this method does not put stress on the cable connection on the inside
