It's not just a three day wedding it's around 4-6 days wedding because after the bridegroom reaches their house their are tooo many rituals and game like things done to welcome the bride and it's amazing

I'm from Kolkata and let me tell you a lot goes on in a Bengali wedding. And even within us bengalis some rituals differ according to the family Traditions. My father is a Bengali born and brought up in Kolkata where as my mother was brought up in Chandigarh, I've heard stories of how different the family traditions were and how technically they got married twice, following two different family traditions. My mother still retains the Punjabi cultures she grew up in while my father is Bengali in every possible way. It's quite interesting considering how different yet similar we Indians are. I got married in 1978 at that time marriages were simple lot of relatives and lot of people who lived nearby but no great expenses food is made at home no catering in maharashtra middle class family did not spend lots of money on wedding weddings were simple but joyful gathering
