OH MY! What do you make of Notion Charts then?! Check out my new Charts Notion Template collection here: bettercreating.com/notionchartscollection 🎉 + 📣 Make sure you also Try Make Automations, free for 1-month HERE: www.make.com/en/register?promo=bettercreating& (including 10,000 operations!). ps. Notion Life OS owners: Your BETA Access to all this is about to Drop! Watch this space on email this week! X
I was super excited when I saw this was added because I was literally just looking for this a couple of months ago... then I was super disappointed when I found out its a paid feature. I understand they need to make money but it would be great if the free version was less restrictive
Yes - it's a shame: I know Notion want to make a clearer distinction between Paid features and free - I'd love to see the free charts available number to go up from maybe 1-5 so it's a little more usable as a free feature. Students get it free at least!
@@BetterCreating Yeah, this is probably the first feature that I was disappointed to not have as a free user. All of the other ones like collaborative tools make sense to be paid (imo), while still leaving the free version feeling like its mostly fully-featured. Adding 4 new database views - especially ones that seem as fundamental as graphs - and restricting them to 1 per workspace makes it feel like I'm on a free trial of a subscription service, which is generally something I avoid. Also, true, I hadn't heard about students getting notion for free until I watched this! Although even though I go to uni, I'd rather stick to an account that I've used for years with my personal email
This opens up the path to Notion Charts in Home Screen widgets on iOS / iPad OS. Currently I achieve this with a combo of Shortcuts, Nautomate and Charty but in theory, Notion could just create a widget type which allows the user to select the chart they want.
I hope that in a future update they also make it possible for us to manually choose the display colors for specific datapoints and adjust the size of the text.
Can you make a tutorial for a new data base i want to track my weight so the line symbols the weight but no matter how i do it it just shows ,,2,, or adds un the numbers
let's say i use the chart as sort of a progress bar for the courses that i have taken in uni over the total courses i should take, is there a way to display the number of taken courses instead of the total courses in the middle of the chart? thank you
Thanks for the helpful summary of Notion's new chart feature. Waiting for the update of the Complete Notion Life OS is becoming even more of a test of patience. 😉 Will the examples shown be part of the Notion Life OS?
haha! It's basically ready: you'll get an email to access the PRIVATE BETA by this Friday! We tried to get it out with Charts today: but it was too much at once! This is what we've been waiting for: now it can be sent to you all: including some Charts fun! Thanks Phil! Simon
@@BetterCreating, fantastic update! That said, no pressure - I'm really excited to see it and can hardly wait. But please take all the time you need. It's better to ensure top quality than to rush and deal with minor, missed errors later. 😎 You’d just end up frustrated about it. 😜
I think it could work well: you might need to use something like Make (featured in this video) to connect your data from socials to Notion database thou

Nice suggestion; will feed this back in the Beta slack!
I will confirm that Educational Personal Pro plan is essentially Personal Pro plan that is free for students.
Yes indeed! it's the sweet spot for Charts! :)
I really want to be able to make a burn-down and burn-up chart which I think will be possible once the line chart allows for multiple properties
I was very excited about this update, but I'm extremely frustrated that the graphics are available in the paid versions... very sad
Yes - a real shame for those on a free plan: if you are a student: get on the fee student plan as this is essentially the pro plan

I would love to get a line chart with multiple line , basically multiple Y axis. to compare different data.
Is it possible ?

Yay!! I’ve been waiting for ages🎉🎉🎉
How will this work with data for social media you think? I have a table database with month on horisontal and KPIs on vertical...
I think it could work well: you might need to use something like Make (featured in this video) to connect your data from socials to Notion database thou
I cannot use charts for my existing databases, why ?
You should be able to: create a new view and select a database - are you on a paid plan?
They call me Marshall Eriksen

Wooop!
