New guy here,I've recently started using srt,I like the this method your using.i need to spend more money for more gear looks like. Thank you for the great video.🌳💚👊👍💚🌳
Most excellent on a short video with great tips on how to ascend in a tree I really like the tie off in the other tree because I myself have reached around and cut my lanyard trying to show someone what not to do.
Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping to get my hands on one of those for a product review here sooner or later I just can't justify purchasing one right now :)
You make that look SOOO easy, I've been trying this out and it's pretty tiring and taxing on my muscles, the tree in trying it out on is alot bigger around though.
Great video... Keep them coming... every wound in the cambium needs to be compartmentalized.. when there are dozens of little areas that need compartmentalization on the main stem, that is going to interfere with trees ability to move water to the branch tips, where it is needed for photosynthesis (food production). NOw I never heard it put quite like that, nor do I have any "science" to back that statement up. As in many scenarios relating to tree work, common sense trumps science. It's obvious when you think about it... what does compartmentalization do?
Great technique I know some people hate ladders because of the potential of falling but if you secure a tall ladder to get where you went to then you could double line to a strong branch above have your ground he move the ladder and then prune down the tree
Dude, I have almost the exact same setup! Akimbo, HAAS Velox, but I got the ISC foot ascender. Not easy to make all those family members get along! I’m actually about to spike up a tree today with my Akimbo (it’s a removal), but I’m trying something new. Nice vid and cool tricks ✌️
Going to do this on my next conifer prune! Brilliant, simple... I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it! (I've only been cutting trees since Spring, 2020. Does that buy me some newbie slack?😄)
Ha! I'm an amateur gomer when it comes to climbing trees, I came up with this same exact strategy (except for having ground girl set my next rope) for taking out the deadwood limbs on pines. I'm pretty happy to get confirmation from someone more knowledgeable that it's a good way to do it.
@@mattiassvanholm6 educated climber friction saver for double rope (ddrt) show you all about getting ropes and friction saver in tree from the ground , but as august says , unless your trimming your got to climb the tree to position your tie in perfectly !
Hi at the 2:18 mark do you think this would work with a notch jet step foot ascender?Im wondering if the rope would slip out because of the position of the rope?.I understand the jet step has a tang to help keep rope not slip out.But does the tang face a different way depending on what foot it is on?lol im just trying to get some gear together hence the question.Im think either getting the ct or the jet step.Thanks.
It would have been nice if you’d have shot a closeup of the equipment you were demonstrating: or better yet a link; there are many brands being sold and some brands do not work as well as the equipment you own.
ok, beginner question: how is this different than just general SRT climbing? What's the trick here; it looks like any other form of SRT rope walking set up, but with a lanyard? Is the point that you're flipping the lanyard as you go because you're making so many cuts on the way up? (2 points for cutting).
I am a huge fan of their work hoodies I love everything about them The only thing I might change and it’s just a personal preference would be having a small chest pocket. They are lighter and cooler than wearing a T-shirt in the summer and yet still protect my arms and Have held up well to the abuse. The good does a good job keeping sawdust out when I use it but is minimal and unobtrusive otherwise.
As a beginner, I really like the explanations on your channel. Brilliant teaching.
Wow, what a cool technique that I somehow have never seen in all these years. Thanks a ton for this video.
sweet. this helps answer my qeustion about starting srt xor spur ... I'm liking srt better after watching this

Good job! I have also been using this method on Queen Palms and Pine tree trims. I don't like wounding trees.
Most legit content for sure, love your tips videos. All I need is a knee ascender but I’ve been dabbling in srt with the zig zag
You certainly won’t regret spending the extra $$ on the knee ascender !
I am not a climber, but you sure make it tempting with this video.
Love your channel and content my friend. Easy to understand for us newbies. Thank you!!
Thanks, glad you’re finding it valuable
Dude I fvckin love this channel!
I super new to the industry so really appreciate all the info you share
Brilliant. I look forward to getting a knee ascender soon, I’ve been enjoying SRT a lot!

Very nice video looks clean man 👌🏽👍🏼
Hey man, good tip. I have been doing this for sometime too. Nice vid, keep up the good tips and quality vids.
I’ve got into that method for all my evergreen work it’s so fast. I use the Edelrid Tree-Rex harness with the SRT bridge, it’s a fantastic harness.
Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping to get my hands on one of those for a product review here sooner or later I just can't justify purchasing one right now :)
How's that harness treating you? Ive got 2 climbs on mine. The instructions leave a little bit to be desired.

Great video,
Nice setup. WANT
What do I need if I have the harness already? Lanyard, foot ascenders??...... ect......???

I'd like to see how you guys set ropes in those trees in the first place
I use a Big Shot with the Big Shot Trigger.
Stay tuned I plan on doing a video on just that soon!
@@Stridertrees is it up yet?
@Will Kelly any recommendation on video?

Hi. I love like to know how you're groundy set up that basal Anchor. :)
I’ll have to try that! 🤙
Great method but getting the groundie to set your ropes? Is it that hard to do yourself!
Recommendation on beginner budget tree climbing harness?
Ok mi è utile. Grazie

Why not SRT with a canopy anchor. butterfly knot

No safety glasses? What's the face shield for? Jim
Nice.😆 Cheers.👍

Hey man. Nice vid. Love your leg straps on your harness. What brand is it ?
jeremy allen he’s using a Treemotion Evo harness with the Monkey Beaver braces for his chesty.
What are your thoughts on the Truewerk hoodies? I enjoy the T2 pants for the durability. Does the hood help keep debris from falling inside?

Ooh.... akimbo on a pine can be interesting. It's not a fan of pitch.
Hi , what is harness name ?
nobody shows it like that, I will try it. I just climb trees for fun.
nice work buddy, what is the chest haness you have? i need it!!!
Monkeybeaver makes suspenders you can tie into for progress capture devices. They stay on your shoulders all day.
💪😄
For a beginner rec climber I guess.
You lost me at "groundie"
