I love my THR-10. It's also a great recording tool. BTW kids, here's a thing you should notice if you look closely at Paul's ears. He now wears hearing aids (my wife wears a similar set), due to exposure to extreme volume levels over the past 30 years. Protect your ears! Once they are damaged, they can never be fixed.

I've had this amp for a few months now. It's the best amp for home. If you're thinking of buying it you won't regret it! It has a good clean tone, lead channel with an overdrive pedal gives great strat sounds. Metal settings is good too even though i dont use it much. It works great with pedals too. The onboard effects are great as well. It has crazy good reverbs. I like everything on this baby except for the delay cause you cant control it's depth or time. But it's normal for something this size and price. It's more than worth its money!
I got a Roland Cube lite and it's very good too. I brought it in my holiday apartment and it does the trick, at volume 3. Don't expect miracles though it won't sound like your marshall cabinet this video shows it.
Built a guitar for a friend I havnt seen in twenty years. Put my thr10 in my over night bag, strapped the guitar and bag to my motorcycle, rode 450 miles, delivered the guitar to my old band mate. He called me up a few days later and said he just bought a thr10 because it sounded so good. Then he had to confess it was my playing. Truth is that thr10 makes even me sound good.
This is a good practice/bedroom amp for the price. The dynamic is good. When you turn guitar volume knob down, gain reduced too. This is a thing that I'm looking for. Like comments says, it look like toaster. No one will think that this is an amp, so it has his place in kitchen. >> Little HS : Paul speak more clearly since he's wearing Phonak ears. Good point. Paul has got Marshall's consent for promoting Yamaha's item?...or maybe he's not endorsed by Marshall.
I have a THR 10c with a flyrig in front of it. Pretty much all I need for bedroom levels or even small jams. I think I play through that setup 90 percent of the time. Just a really well made and well thought out little amp. Also sounds great as a stereo, or for playing to backing tracks from my phone. If I need more gain I might use a good distortion pedal before the flyrig, but that's only if I am in a heavy mood which is rare these days. Best and most useful piece of gear I have other than my guitars. Great fun at picnics and barbecues.
I had several cubes that I used for years, i thought that was as good as a portable amp gets, then I got the thr10, it has inspired me so much my whole style has changed, I'm ripping this guitar up now. So glad I got the thr10. Classic rock and blues riffs with such clearity and depth, it's easy to get sounds like led zepplin or pink Floyd.
The THR 5 and 10 are awesome amplifiers, but if Yamaha wanted to make some serious money they’d make one of these in a 40 or 60 watt package. The only thing I think is stopping them is not wanting to step on Line 6’s toes.
