The DBZ writers hate goku that tho. Goku is like that in the eng version and in other adaptations. In the japanese version he is that carefree only fun kid dude. I enjoy the adaptations take on

I would have liked to see a beam struggle between the Old Broly and Super Perfect Cell, Broly's Omega Blaster against Cell's Solar Kamehameha and also Broly's Omega Blaster against Teen Gohan Father-son Kamehameha, with both arms.

I can only remember one or two instances in Z were being distracted resulted in a one hit k.o. and it was always from a reasonably strong fighter, never a weapon (like Vegeta putting Goku down in the bu saga). Super's writers are just lazy/uninformed
Well, the obvious difference here is that Cell is powering up. When Goku got shot, he wasn't powering up. Also, it's not just Super. Remember, Krillin hurt Ssj Goku with a ROCK. That's even worse than getting hurt by a laser.
