My parents listened to this song every morning. The hospice nurse began singing it with them. It’s a special memory. The day my daddy died, this song was playing in the background. He took his last breath and the music just stopped. It still gives me chills when I hear this song. Don Williams was the only concert my parents ever attended. I grew up listening to daddy singing his songs.

Yes,how it hurts-it gets a little easier over time but never heals.My Mum died the day after my Dad died.She died of a broken heart but now they are back together again after a few brief hours apart.They both loved Don Williams and his song 'Some broken hearts never mend' says it all.God speed.

takes me back to around 1976 when Don was touring the Uk, I spent most of the evening with him harmonising and drinking copious quantities of Malt scotch, he had no airs or graces just a pure gent, of all the American artist I have met he was the easiest going, and as I said a pure gent.. RIP to an old acquaintance.. you music will live on.

I saw Don in concert many years ago and what you see 👀 is what you get!! That was the concert, Don sitting on a stool with his guitar 🎸 with NO band or backup singers.

He has been mine and my daddy's favorite singer all our lives and it's because of Don that my daddy found a wonderful lady who became my stepmother. All his adult life, people everywhere would stop him and tell him he looked just like Don Williams (he did...only shorter) and one night he walked into a Denny's restaurant, was stopped by a lady and her daughter...and they asked him the question..."has anyone ever told you you look like Don Williams?" He told her the same thing he's always told people "I've heard that all my life." She eventually became my stepmother and I'm so thankful she did because with her, my daddy finally found the happiness he so deserved...and all because he looked like Don (only shorter)

Strange to watch this video and see him in those early days with so much still ahead of him, knowing now with his passing that it is all behind him.
