tbh the movie seems quite scientifically accurate (i heard that the book goes a lot more in-depth in the science) and the characters, especially the main character, feel like actual people, so if i didn't know better, this movie can pass off a "based on a true story" movie

There is a lot of science in both the movie and book, and it's awesome. The only major scientific inaccuracy is the storm, but that can be given the creative licence card. Sometimes, you have to ignore a few things to make the story intresting.

My three fav quotes from this movie
"I will have to science the s*** out of this"
"They say that once you grow crops somewhere you've officially colonized it. So, technically, I colonized Mars. In your face Neil Armstrong"
"There is an international treaty saying 'No country can lay claim to anything that is not on Earth' and by another treaty 'If your not in any countries territory, maritime law applies' so Mars is international waters. Now NASA is an American non-military orginization, it owns the H.A.B, but the second I walk outside, I'm in international waters, so here's the cool part, I'm about to leave for the scaporelly crater where I'm going to comendere the ARIAS 4 Lander, nobody explicitly gave me permission to do this and they can't till I'm on the ARIAS 4, so that means I'm going to be taking a craft over international waters without permission, which by definition, makes me a pirate. Mark Watney, Space Pirate"

The alarms that woke up Mark were that his suit no longer had nitrogen to mix with his atmosphere and that his CO2 scrubbers were fully saturated. So he was breathing pure oxygen and the suit was "blood-letting" by venting the atmosphere to remove the CO2 while backfilling with pure oxygen again.
The greatest danger to his body was too much oxygen mixture compromising his nervous system.

Seen the movie, this was better than rewatching it, with some fun ding from them, permissions, this could be a real thing.
