I'm not a writer but I'm a big reader and I also grew up watching Jane Austin stories and love them, I love your premise and can't wait to continue watching more of your journey and eventually reading your book! If you have any sapphic romance recommendations I'd love to hear some of your favorites! Also side note your hair and style looks great, and the vibe of your vlogs is so cozy!
Hii!! Welcome! Readers are absolutely welcome here and yes to the gals who grew up watching Jane Austen!! In terms of sapphic book recommendations I have a whole video that I'll link for you here! ruclips.net/video/o4vNlek7fnA/видео.html I've also been thinking about making another one since I've read more so stay tuned for that! My favourite is probablyt he Birght Falls Trilogy by Ashley Herring Blake, Here We Go Again by Alison Cochrun, and Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne. And thanks glad you like the cozy vibes and short hair lol! ❤️
It was so lovely to hear you speak about your project and the motivation behind it -- I felt like you expressed it very well and it made a lot of sense, at least to me. It sounds like an exciting project and definitely something needed on bookshelves ^^ Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us! Happy writing 💛
Hi Olivia! So happy to have found your video - I'm attempting a rough draft of my first novel this month and mine has sapphic romance as part of the plot, too 🥰 I'm setting a good portion of mine in the years leading up to WWII/during WWII and it's interesting - I'm finding it difficult to find sources that detail lesbian romances of the time (because unfortunately society made them mostly invisible). I'm curious how you're approaching research/if you're finding any difficulty with that - would love to hear of any sources you find helpful! Best of luck to you on your journey; I'm excited to follow along!
Hello! That’s so amazing I’m so excited for you!! And great question I’m still figuring out as I go. Lots of research on the Jane Austen era itself with social expectations and also just looking at how the romance genre was written at the time I’m trying to recreate. Will soon be looking into the sapphic history because I know if you look throughout history there’s all these little signs that women would use to basically share they were lesbians. I believe monacales were clues at one point and another was a certain flower I believe. Again still gonna focus in on the era I’m looking at but I know sometimes there’s little clues that people always used to secretly communicate which I find very interesting. Keep my posted on how you’re doing love that we’re both writing sapphic period pieces :) welcome to the channel ❤️
Look forward to the stages of writing and hair growth!!
Thank you!!
Love this for you. 👌🏼🥰
I also love reading queer literature.
Thanks!!!
Yes, the Regency rules do make romance very fun to set in that period!
