  • The end of the end of the end, the first American solo museum exhibition of Canadian artist Jon Rafman, features the single channel video Still Life (Betamale) as well as a selection of recent sculpture and photography from the artist’s New Age Demanded series. In his multidisciplinary practice, Rafman often explores the relationship between the “real” and the “virtual” in contemporary life, urging viewers to reconsider the boundaries between the two.

I kinda wish he would have spoken about betamale more that was a really interesting piece. But this was a really good and insightful talk and I'm really glad you guys got him to speak.

This makes me think of Mcluhan and his comparison to electronic culture to an oral tradition. With electronics we take in our world more tactically than we would with a more literate approach. Interesting how it could all disappear digitally as do contemporary oral traditions.

Kind of funny how an artist who seeks to emulate outsider art describes himself as an outsider among outsider artists.
