The Sixsters were created in 2018, when then 9 year old Kate, who had a YT channel doing drum covers, started guesting with adult bands and wanted her own band, as there was no musical kids in her area, her dad advertised for kids and The Sixsters were born. Now Maya has left only Kate is left from 2018. The band was fluid for about 6 months before settling on a line-up of 7 members Kate, Kira P and Taya sharing bass duties, Alona and Ira on Guitar and Kira K on vocals. At the end of 2020 Maria replaced Alona bringing English and a second vocalist, 6 months later Anna replaced Ira. In 2022 the girls had a stadium tour lined up supporting a big Ukrainian band, but in Feb they were invaded. Kate's home where they had their studio was destroyed in the bombing and most of the girls families fled Ukraine. In summer of 2022 five of the girls resumed the band while living as refugees in Germany. Kate, Kira P, Maya, Anna and Maria. Taya's family stayed in Ukraine and Kira K decided not to rejoin so Maria took over vocals. Shortly after Kira P's family returned to Ukraine, and later Maya's did too, both replacements, Polina on bass and Sofia on keyboards are also Ukrainian refugees. Their sound is so diverse, every song is different and really good. Big things in the future for these girls, most are still in school.
This song is two years old, so the band ages at the time would have been Kate (drums) 13, Polina (Bass) 14, Maya (Keyboards/Turntable in this) 12, Anna (Lead Guitar) 19 and Maria (Vocals/Guitar) 15. Since this video, Maya's parents returned to Ukraine (last September), she spent the first night in a bomb shelter. Any video dated 2024 has Sofia on keyboards.

Then "Seem to dance" Mid tempo song in Ukrainian language? Then "Біжи з Вовками (Run with the Wolves)" A really early song? Then "Голосую" (great, even if the band now has a different line-up) And there is more ("Fever", "Feels", "Same kid", "Психоделіка", "На каву" ....) Hopefully I will see them live in Wilhelmshaven (5th of July, my birthday 🙂) ... may the weather be with us 😆

New subscriber for The Sixsters! You have come across a band that's going to explode. They are young, between 15 and 17, except for Anna on lead guitar, who is 21. Subtract two years for this song. It takes a few songs until you realize the scope of this band. They go from genre to genre effortlessly, and you might not recognize them as the same band. A lot of people like "Feels,' which has a punkish vibe, and "Same Kid" is a non-stop rocker. "For Us...For Me" starts out sultry but ends with a bang, and really showcases Maria the singer's amazing voice. More Sixsters! 🤟🤟😃
The heading on my Google search spells it "Sixters." It has a second "s", so SixSters. I almost didn't find you! It's a common mistake for folks new to the band. 😀 Thanks for featuring this incredible band! Wait til you hear more, each is completely different, but excellent. They move between genres effortlessly. I look forward to seeing this when it comes out!
