My D21 is my learner truck and I bought bought your flip kit a while back and now I'm looking to secure it down to the tailgate on the four drilled holes. But I'm still learning, any ideas?
Me personally I rivet them onto the gate, some use sheet metal screws. If you want to get fancy you could install rivet nuts on the gate and bolt the plate.
Hello, one question bro, is the border of the frame at the same height as the hole you cut? Or did you leave a tiny edge and later grinded whatever wasnt needed?
Going to be adding a universal plate light that bolts to the upper plate holes run the wire threw the tail gate and out the bottom under the bed to the original light plugs.
Plasma cut out the design, made a custom form press to create the indent consistently, then mad a custom die to put in my press bender to do the z bend for the mounting holes. Took a good 5 trial and error pieces to make it all work together.
Your mounting plate is superior, or fabrication skills are solid but you do realize you plugged one hole and made another? (ha ha) Just messing with you. Nice work, and yes, more fabrication videos would be nice.
I’ve always thought the angled/flushed license plate mod looked sick. Great vid sir!
Thank you!
Sooo glad I found this channel. D21 lovers!
Wish i could get this for my pickup, would absolutely love to get my plate flush mounted
im so happy to see a flip kit from you now. that will be my next purchase
Love those wheels in the thumbnail what are they? Thanks
Toyota sequoia with 3 spokes painted black to look like tri spokes
As always an honor to watch your greatness 😉 keep on truckin ✌
Cool video but how do you keep the water from getting in the tailgate With that big square hole in the plate box
Tailgates have drain holes so it doesn't matter. Water comes threw the handle stock so it's not a big deal.
Ok cool thanks for the info
Ditch the 4 inch grinder for sheetmetal work. Id go with a small air grinder, keeps the metal alot cooler
No worrys I pay attention to the heat and keep moving around and come back with a da sander.
Nice Work
I can’t wait to see that ford with the Chevy engine 🤞🏼 getting work done I always enjoy your vids brother !
Nice and clean work bro!🤙🏼
I’m in wa with a s10. I wanna do exactly this to my tailgate. How much is your kit or how much you charge

Just did this to my 99 ram 1500 (license plate box) i fabricated it myself with scrap metal next job is shaving the tail gate handle. 750 $ truck 😭😂
This install maybe OK in Washington State but in California a license plate light is required
I have a plate light that bolts to the plate, fully legal.
Very good quality I say everything you do is very good and over the top great job

Hello, one question bro, is the border of the frame at the same height as the hole you cut? Or did you leave a tiny edge and later grinded whatever wasnt needed?
I cut the plate box slightly lower than the gate about the thickness of the steel so the weld has a place to stay after grinding flat.
@@scrapingpavement appreciate your time to respond! Makes sense to me now, thank you !
Very cool video bro !!💪😁
I went thru 3 s10 tailgates before i figured it out..
Maybe a stupid question but did you even use body filler?
Yes I did use a skim coat of filler.
@@scrapingpavement looks goos man
How would u add the license plate light ?
Going to be adding a universal plate light that bolts to the upper plate holes run the wire threw the tail gate and out the bottom under the bed to the original light plugs.
