Chennai to Ooty is a urban route, every 50 km has big town and cities, Villupuram, salem, erode, thirupur, Coimbatore and Ooty but it will be risky in non urban route
Negatives of EV :1. Extra time take during any trip to charge. 2. Waiting time at EV charging (in future) 3. Amount spend for charging (in future when peoples start to buy EVs, definitely pvt players / Govt will hike the charging fare) 4. Performance of EV in long terms is a question mark. 5.Durability of battery over the years is also a question mark.
1. With Cars like ZS EV, you can charge in every 250kms. So your wait time is your rest time/eating time in a restaurant. 2. With more EV buyers, more infra, hopefully. 3. Amount spending will still be much less as oil prices increase as well, and at a higher rate than electricity. 4+5 People have driven EV more than 100k, no issue. Battery is supposed to last much longer than people own a car.
Thank you Birla Sir. One more thing to add In your journey no one is charging at the station. Just think if some one already charging at the ev charger. Then you need wait to get the charger. You need add that time also. Now a days in highways most of the EV chargers are filled whenever you try to stop.
Really good effort and informative, now the charging points are less and by the time we reach the charging station if there is a queue, then the waiting time will be huge upsetting our timing plan of the trip.
Good practical experience,,bro. Another alternative is buy petrol or diesel car with 45 litre tank. You can reach directly Chennai to ooty in 6 hrs. Money factor of time is not evaluated. Time lost is money lost.

I too have the same doubt... If the EV car gets increased and already 3 people waiting in the queue means... U just stuck in the charging station... That's my nightmare
I own a EV too. You can't compare Ooty to Chennai with Chennai to Ooty. Because of the hill. Uphill consumes 2x to 3x more power. Downhill charges your car for 10-20%. Chennai to Ooty will require atleast 3 charges. you need to necessarily top up at avinashi before climbing hill. I had recently completed a trip to Kodaikanal. My observations are. Zeon is costlier but fast and reliable. Strategically Located within restaurants Tatapower is cheaper but slow and usually located inside their car showrooms. Relux is totally unreliable and slow. Most hotels in hill stations allow to use their AC power outlets for a nominal charge. My average power consumption was 22kwh/100km from Chennai to Kodaikanal and 18kwh/100km from Kodaikanal to Chennai. Average of 20kwh/100Km. The travel cost was 60% less when compared to Diesel.
Hi Karthik - This is very useful information. Do you have similar data for Chennai to Munnar. I am planning to visit Munnar via Dindiugul. Munnar is 160 Km from Dindigul and there is no charging point in between. I feel my ZS EV will not be able to cover this distance. Let me know if you have specific details for this route.
Certainly, range anxiety is a genuine concern. However, if you have family members susceptible to motion sickness, the ride quality of an electric vehicle (EV) is remarkably superior, effectively mitigating motion sickness. My spouse shared that she can comfortably open her eyes and appreciate the scenic beauty of winding mountain roads only in an EV. In contrast, when traveling in an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, she invariably experiences motion sickness and keeps her eyes closed throughout the journey.
Staying@unknown place with family is very risky nowadays. If someone charging while we wanted ,lots of time will get wasted. Risky too .. my opinion it takes another 5 to 7 Yeats for us to get accustom. Grt video...

Only blocker for me in getting an EV car is having have to constantly worry about range and charging station availability during my travel. It's worse if I'm traveling with my family and if it's during night time. I don't want to make my family wait in the middle of nowhere charging g my car for an hour. EVs fit good for city drives. Nothing more than that.
Charging duration of 30 minutes time after about 150 km, does not seem hurdle, but safe and good relaxation. Street talk is that if AC runs, then mileage rate will drop significantly. Also in this review , only one passenger cum driver trip is covered. In case of 5 occupants with luggage full in dick , and long night travels with continuous lighting beam, there may be mileage drop.. In my opinion in case of elemination of organic fuel driven vehicles, then charging points for EVs should be installed at least 10 to 15 times the number of present organic fuel supply points. In case of more vehicles simultaneously in ques, how the waiting time is uncertain. So a thorough review would be usefull to understand EV absolutely.
Mileage drop would be there upto 25%. I haven't used EV cars, this is significant in ev bikes, but not significant when it comes to four wheeler. 70-80kmph will give decent coverage, beyond which there would be drop in range. Driving in peak summer days will result in dropped range. All these equates to ICE engines as well.. but nobody discuss this as there's plenty of fuel stations deployed.
Great Effort Sir. Well Done. But still we need enough infrastructure, I mean number of charging points at any location should be increased. Otherwise the charging hours you have mentioned will increase because of Q if more electric vehicles are on road.
Thank you for the video it gives more vicinity about EV cars & its nuances during long trip . However on the whole don't you feel petrol cars are economical, we don't have multiple pitstops like EV cars + snacks & refreshment expenses everytime we stop the car.
Very encouraging presentation. No theory class only practical classes. But Charging fee seems to be costly. If we have prior knowledge of working condition of chargers and reserving charging time ( in the event of many cars approaching for charge in future) we may drive ev confidently for long

People are not stopped with charging cost alone. All these charging points are connected to restaurants and other shops. Definitely we need to calculate food/juice/snacks/tea for leisure. We should not assume tea will cost only 20 rupees at these leisure points.
Lovely bro. Great effort 💪. Still I want you to share details about full load or half or single person traveling with how much boot capacity in next video. Just for the info we usually call the Saravana bhavan Hotel situated that which you told in sankari as Vaikundam. Waiting for your next ev ride video.
Great info bro. If EV cars are in more numbers. How they are gonna handle. Yes, they can increase the charging ports. But petrol pumps will take 5 minutes to fill the full tank
As per your experiment, approximately Rs.3K for one way in EV. This amount is same for Swift petrol car, inclusive of Toll charges. Winner is Petrol Engine ✌️🏆
Petrol/Diesel cars already won by giving the driver range anxiety free situation, and more fun to drive in real life. Taking EVs to a long trip will just take your patience out and you are forced to stop every time for 1hour 😂
Also vehicles fitted with both organic fuel driven engine and ele energy driven unit would be better option to evade waiting time and escape in case of engine failures.
I wondering on peak days kind of holidays how this is gonna work because already in fuel station it will be hectic during holiday season I can't imagine when ev started phasing up its not possible till now ...may be it will take decade for this kind of infrastructure
EV is a good initiative sir. But now, the usage of ev vechicles are low. When it reaches half of the count of petrol/diesel vehicles, the wait time will be large. Next, afforably Tiago EV, Nexon EV are the competitors. Again, which consumes a lot of time because of 24 KW charging support. But the point is, even though ev is green, the way in which electricity is produced is not green. Indirectly, it is equally polluting like other source of fuel. And, if we go for a trip, planning for charging stations and waiting in the middle can mess up the plan alot. So, EV is can be used for local commute and short trips. It will tiring for driver to wait and ride for long trips. Just a thought Birla sir. Please answer if you have any solution for this.

Wonderful video, thanks for your effort and information, could you also tell us the comparison on cost of Fuel vs EV charge price for 1200 kms you travelled.
Good video sir. But avoid EV, no saving - money wasted in eateries...extra 3 to 4 hours wasted..not safe with kids. Solution: 80 to 100kw batteries for long drives. but infra and battery technologies takes time.
To begin with, I appreciate your efforts. Have been following your videos since years. Not a new visitor. Yindha maari, planned travels ku mattum than work aagum. Just what if the charge station that we planned to use is down or doesn't work or if there is a big queue? These kind of EV cars are only suitable for city drive and most importantly this would be very much appreciated by people who have more than one car and one of them is EV. More than EV cars becoming affordable, it's about having charging stations adequately. Only after we have 30 or 40% petrol/diesel bunks equivalent Charging stations, this would at-least be sensible to start using EVs for those who have one car for all City, outstation and every purpose that involve planned and unplanned trips. And not everyone/everytime would plan for multiple breaks. So this would force people and there is no other option. And also it's not like a small coffee break, this is going to take some significant amount of time. This EV tech would become very much feasible and sustainable only when battery swapping becomes possible. Like LPG gas cylinder that's returned upon emptying and just load a new one, similarly all cars in a country should have a consortium that caters battery to EV cars. So go to a battery station and return used battery and get a charged battery and just keep going. This way the waiting time is reduced to almost negligible ones. And its the vendor who is running this service would be taking care of the maintenance of the battery. But again, with this kind of approach, there would be more hazards as the battery is getting handled by various people. But for EVs to become trusted and reliable and practically feasible, there are two things needed. 1) Absolutely fast charging needed as people don't even wish to wait in long lines currently in petrol bunks. 2) Good number of Charging stations matching atleast 30-40% of the petrol bunk count. These days EB current bill is sky rocketing and charging at home is definitely going to add significant rise in monthly bills right? May be if you could clarify and explain people about the costs that a middle class family would incur when using EV cars (assuming charging done at home some times and sometimes at charging stations perhaps).
I feel when we will go with EV we need to focus about charging stations and charging times .. wasting.. Wherever we go need to focus our plan with charging area 😢
We need 300 kva speed for charging... stopping for long durations like 1 hour for full charge is still unacceptable for me... now mobile phones comes with less than 10 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%...
There will be always tension in mind while driving ev .. it’s like you park the car on the road and go for shopping .. you will be always thinking of car than shopping .. 🫤
Killing charging time by having food is good idea but on the other side I have to eat at that specific restaurant near the charging zone, unless I have enormous time to stop by other hotels for food.
Once we have faced a worst situation at this place. We reached this place(dindivanam a2b doz) at very less charge in our Tata ev at midnight. But this place has been closed for night. Long story short - fought with watch men and also he tried reaching the owner to open for emergency situation. But he didn't response. We have reached here because zeon app showed it is available. Atleast they could have turned off. Pls be careful at this place at night for charging.
Sir, they have to increase the number of charging points as the vehicles increase in future. Otherwise will be stuck in queue for charging. This is my thinking.
So EV charging routes are expensive, it's because the collaboration with vendors and other subjective may attract the people. EV has great potential in business, to avoid uncomfortable ride music is used to ease it , so obviously Spotify and Amazon music is required. The routes provided by these vendors has higher possibility in getting attention of EV owners to get into their business like advertising and promoting stuffs ,and considering Charing ports and time , it might take close to 5hours in the worst case it's its more than 500km journey. 5 hrs is for charging and waiting in a queues etc. Fuel cars outperform ev in these cases. EV two-wheeler is an different case. For an day-to-day basic, ev two-wheeler is an game changer.😊
My question is simple. There is only one charging station is there. What if two cars were already in line and another car is being charged. Each car will take 40 to 45 mins then after three cars you need to charge yours. You need to be there till your visit. So you need to wait for 2 hours and then another half an hour, so totally you need to wait for 2.30 hours minimum

Just a thought Birla sir. Please answer if you have any solution for this.

Super 👌👌👌 Master.
Very Useful Information for All EV Car Users. Thank you🙏🙏🙏 Birla 🤓🤓🤓Master.
I love you birla sir hats off for your hard work.....🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖💖💖.....pls upload videos travelling in ev car and remove the fear to buy the ev....good job sir....☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍
Wonderful video, thanks for your effort and information, could you also tell us the comparison on cost of Fuel vs EV charge price for 1200 kms you travelled.
Practical Points and Observations... a very valuable video Birla! Kudos!
Bro, Very good effort. Battery backup charging on go is suggested.
Perfect sir, you almost jotted down everything in my mind 👍
@@JagirHussain18 thanks 👍

Excellent video, very useful information to future ev car buyers. As you said Tiago traveling will be very useful.
Good information bro, and big effort to profession congratulations,🎉🎉🎉
I feel when we will go with EV we need to focus about charging stations and charging times .. wasting..
Wherever we go need to focus our plan with charging area 😢
Nalla shooting nu valiya sutharigaa.. enjyyy 💚
We need 300 kva speed for charging... stopping for long durations like 1 hour for full charge is still unacceptable for me... now mobile phones comes with less than 10 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%...
Feels so refreshing to watch a different kind of video
There will be always tension in mind while driving ev .. it’s like you park the car on the road and go for shopping .. you will be always thinking of car than shopping .. 🫤
Extensive efforts you have put in. Great work birla bro.

Good information ; EV's are way to go...our country is way to slow in Ev growth ....when we have the most polluted cities in the world.
When the power is cut, the charging station will work?
Thank you birla brother
Thank you karky brother
Lot of explanation from your experience
in case tata company May be such information you shared thanks
Nice informative video. Have you used AC while driving?
Killing charging time by having food is good idea but on the other side I have to eat at that specific restaurant near the charging zone, unless I have enormous time to stop by other hotels for food.
Great info, thank you!
By the way, you resemble with Dir Maari Selvaraj
Once we have faced a worst situation at this place. We reached this place(dindivanam a2b doz) at very less charge in our Tata ev at midnight. But this place has been closed for night. Long story short - fought with watch men and also he tried reaching the owner to open for emergency situation. But he didn't response. We have reached here because zeon app showed it is available. Atleast they could have turned off.
Pls be careful at this place at night for charging.
Good branding effort for EV vehicles. Excellent work.
50 வருடத்திற்கு பிறகு இந்த வீடியோவை பார்த்தால் நகைச்சுவையாகவும் வியப்பாகவும் இருக்கும்
10.55 Sema Explain Sir......
Sir, they have to increase the number of charging points as the vehicles increase in future. Otherwise will be stuck in queue for charging. This is my thinking.
Very useful. Thanks for the making.
Please put a video for EV bike
Like suitcase packed cells kudutha... Battery mattum manual or automatic ahh replace pannitu... Poite irrukalam
Automatic ah wallet la kaasu pogura maathri :)
Thanks. Useful, explained with all information which any layman wants to know.
Sir,Super information for E.Vehicle,Thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
My question is simple.
