      The pieonedie it’s most likely fake... like a 5 move cross with 3 free f2l pairs, slight pauses and a sune (arguably the best I’ll case) with a u perm.

    • @andrewparker9168
      @andrewparker9168 8 лет назад +7

      There's no way to solve nearly that fast with the beginners method cubes come with, which would be around 160-180 moves average. A name brand Rubik's cube is also stiff and doesn't let you cut edges. He's using CFOP, which is what most speed cubers use. Many more algorithms and takes much longer to learn, but much faster and way less moves.

      Anyways some people like me likes other stuff like Poker or other card games so, mentally, you need a combination of natural talent and dedication.

Now, you sit me down in front of a workbench chock-full of robotic parts, tools, and a computer with programming software on it, and you'll never get me back out of there until I pass out. :^)

      I solve in about the same time as delphi and it made pretty decent sense, he's just demonstrating the individual steps of CFOP with some diagrams that aren't the main focus.
      Cross, F2L pairing, OLL, PLL. It's the same 4 steps that every CFOP user uses.
      If he was explaining Roux Last Six Edges I'd expect people to be confused.

      A lot of the speedcubing thing is a lot less impressive than it looks. They usually just mix up the cube in specific way and then reverse what they did, which really just boils down to muscle memory. The cool stuff is when someone else mixes up the cube out of sight and then have them solve it. They still solve it quickly, but its not less than 10 seconds quick.

      +Melissa Cunill , that's really incredible !! Ur one among those people who can play with colors and unite them !! :D well , let me be frank .... my best time has been 74.34 seconds in solving it ! Ahm , yea I used to take around 3 minutes as well ! But the key to it aint about the "method" Melissa ! But the "way" you move the cube ! U gotta use ur fingers to move it . Then it moves even faster ! trust me , I m able to solve the same cube with the same algorithms faster ... just because I learnt how to "move it quickly"!! I would love to be of any help to u ! #Respect_you.

      Dhanush Kuber As a 25 second solver with both roux and CFOP (PBs of 16.150 and 14.938, in the same order), I assure you that the method is one of the most important things to have a enjoiable and productive experience with the cube, but yes, if you wanna get fast, one of the first things you need to learn is basic fingertricks (that's how "the way you move" is called).

      +HowTorigami456 "14 year old" matters to some extent because it limits the amount of practice time that he has had. Well, actually the fastest is 3.5 up to date. But as soon as they release the cyber-augmentations to the public for us to have free will over our eyes will be able to track in which side each colored cube is on and thus we could solve it blind-folded. The mere ramifications of solving a Rubik's cube with "speed" for this day and age you must understand how the cube works, how the algorithms effect the solving of the cube (by where each piece is moved with the intentions of trying to solve one side at a time), and lastly someone's ability to comprehend the movement of the cube at high speeds. To an extent this is a form of "super human" ability.

      Well technically any sequence of moves you do to accomplish something is an algorithm so no. However, it is possible to figure out your own if you spend enough time trying/thinking. If you don't have much experience with twisty puzzles like the rubik's cube it can be difficult to do so though for most people.

    • @drgnfrc13
      @drgnfrc13 10 лет назад

      You can easily learn to solve it without these speed cubing algorithms. The beginner's method only requires you to know 6 algorithms, and they are mostly pretty simple and easy to memorize. The only difference is that you will be lucky to get a sub-1 minute solve with the beginner's method, whereas most people get at least 30 second solves with the more complicated methods. And of course, like Rafael said, you could certainly solve it just by messing around with it and learning on your own, but it won't be a quick process that way.

    This was a great solve, I'm curious to see how you're doing now.
    I'm sure you could shave 1s/1.5s if you reduced the amount regrips you had to do.
    To those that don't understand. He did state at the beginning that is wasn't a tutorial, just an example solve. Understanding these concepts are a bit hard to understand until you've practiced, and you've changed the way you perceive the cube.
    This comes with a lot of practice. The method used for solving the cube in this video is called CFOP, which is an acronym for it's 4 steps.
    Cross: Form a white "Cross" that matches the centers for the next row.
    F2L: A bit harder to explain; however, the main goal is to finish the "First 2 layers" completely. This will leave white solved, and 2/3's of every other color solved(except yellow)
    OLL: "Orient last layer", this involves completely solving the yellow side. The beginner method is 2-look, because it requires less memorization (7 different cases). More advanced cubers know every different case and the corresponding algorithm to move them to the next part of the solve, this is called 1-look. (there are more advanced variations on this step, this is standard)
    PLL: is the final layer, Permutation of last layers. Once you have the final side solved the last 1/3 from the F2L step might still be unsolved. There are many different cases you can get at this point. This requires you moving the edges in such a way that doesn't scramble the cube. We name them " _ Perms" (eg. j perm, t perm, u perm). There are different methods for solving them. Most memorize the cases and just learn to execute it quickly.
    I recommend watching some videos on CFOP to learn some more information.
    Another popular speed solving method is Roux.
    If you're completely new to cubing the beginner method is always a pretty good place to start. It helps you understand the rules to your puzzle more.

    People always think I am just a genius. They use the "Fail method" (literally quoting something documenting various methods) where you solve one side then try to solve a few more. They think I am just a genius at doing that. They see stickers as individual pieces and no corner-edge-center pieces. After training myself to solve it for the first time, (within 3 minutes) I could never see what someone else would see ever again.
    P.S. The translation is spot on from what I could tell ;D

      i understand my man i thought that myself over these years u see each sticker as a new piece no each piece has 2 -stickers on they are all joined in some way and when u can doit u see it differently

    omg!! hahahah do you really memorize all algorythms there???

    • @ArjenJongeling
      @ArjenJongeling 10 лет назад +22

      You can solve a cube with 7 algorythms but you'll never get under 90 seconds.
      This guy used the Fridrich method which is faster. He solved the first two layers intuitively. No algorythms, just logic thinking. He was very lucky in OLL because the yellow cross was already there. If this hadn't been the case, he could have created the cross first and then the corners (2 step OLL). This takes 8 algorythms. The last part, PLL, takes 7 or 8 algorythms. So it's not extremely difficult, the hard part is the recognition. If you have to stop between the algorythms to figure out the next step, that slows you down. In my case, I average 32 seconds.
      It is possible to do 1 step OLL (so you solve the yellow cross and the yellow corners at the same time) but then you have to memorize over 50 algorythms. The difference with 2 step OLL is approx. 1-2 seconds so many cubers never bother to learn them before they get sub 20 secs or so.

    • @ArjenJongeling
      @ArjenJongeling 10 лет назад +2

      Pitas96 You're right, my bad. I did 47 seconds using the beginner method and a very cheap cube in 1980 or 81. I averaged about a minute. Sad to think it took me 35 years to get only twice as fast. With very advanced cubes. FML :-D

    • @aghaanantyab
      @aghaanantyab 10 лет назад +1

      Arjen Jongeling hahahh i can solve it under 1 minute using only 4 algorythms. first, i solve the first two layers intuitively. then i create cross (first algorythm). then i put each edges to the right place (second algorythm). then i put each corners to the right place (third algorythm). finally i rotate the corners to the right angle (fourth algorythm)

    • @ArjenJongeling
      @ArjenJongeling 9 лет назад

      aghaanantyab That's basically the same. The first 2 layers have 2 algorithms as well, one for inserting the corners of the first layer and one of the edges of the second layer. That adds up to 6. I wonder how you solve the cross in the last layer so that they are not only correctly oriented but also aligned with the centers of the second layer. In the beginners method, this is the 7th algorythm.

    I've started 2-3 days ago playing with the cube, my best is 3 minutes now.
    I thought speedcubers used a different method: I'm not speed but I do a lot of moves anyway.
    They don't, they're just fast as fuck apparently.
    Congratulations.

    • @sherlockhomeless2785

      Majority of this can be intuitive, I mean yes it's good to know algorithms but you can still have decent times with few algs, haha awesome solve though! I think for that he only needed like 4 or less algorithms and the rest was intuitive

    Very intriguing! I've always wondered if speed solving was planned completely ahead for the most effcient pattern, or done in the normal steps and just very quickly.
    Maybe some people can plan it all out ahead, but this gives me confidence knowing that one can solve quickly without seemingly perfect mastery.
