I just got this saw; this was by far the most comprehensive overview I've seen! Thank you for showing all the little secret storage spots and tips for assembling the stand where the directions fell short. I have all the confidence I need to set this up.
Purchased this saw today (great product at its price point), and quickly realized that the included instructions left much to be desired. Thankfully, I found this, and easily got it assembled and put to work. Thank you Jason, very helpful and well done.
Yep, just assembled one today. The instructions provided were indeed poor. It is simple process but Dewalt could easily improve on them . The name on the bag should match what it’s called in instructions. Duh.

Great tool which will not disappoint. Wish I could have bought this at the lower price but ah well. This miter saw is truly awesome after two years of use. Makes cutting quick without messing around. So glad I found your video last night. I bought the saw today and followed your presentation step by step. You made putting the saw together a breeze. Much nicer to follow your instructions than to read the manual. Thanks for taking the time!
Nice video. I just bought the second one of these saws and I love them. Neither had any problem with table top flatness. I just assembled and claibrated my second one today, and it is so perfect. Only adjustment it needed was a little on the fence, squaring it to the blade and miter slot. Just a few thousandths out. But now it is all ready to go, did a test cut and it was perfectly square and parallel all the way down the length. You just cannot go wrong with these saws! My old one got sold because I thought I needed a larger saw. Didn't after all!!! So after a year and half, I sold the big saw and got another one of these Dewalts. You just cannot go wrong with them.

I assembled the frame last night and this morning i attached the saw and had it vertical and was unsure on how to get it horizontal. So I went up stairs and got on line and found this you tube video. I skipped over to where I was and saw you
flip it to horizontal then just watched the remainder of your video and it jumped me over any uncertainties. Great Job!

I loaned my saw to a friend. He did not realize the fence locked and disassembled the fence guides to figure out why it was so sticky! Oops! Should have had him watch your video! All went back together so no harm done. The dust collection with just the lower large port connected to a dust collector/vac is excellent and even better when both lower and upper ports are used. A very nice saw indeed!
Thank you so much for this video! I do all kinds of crafty projects and wanted a small table saw to cut down wood for signs etc. and to fit in my Glowforge. I picked out something smaller but my husband upgraded me to this one. He put the stand on it for me but that’s all so I was able to learn a lot from following your video. Now it’s all ready for my first project and I can’t thank you enough!
New to having a table saw. Opened it up & the directions for putting it together had a lot to be desired especially since one of the Bags of hardware was torn open and I had loose pieces all over. This really helped also with you showing all the wonderful features this saw has. Thanks a bunch
Jason Thank you for this great tutorial on how to assemble the DW7491. My first time owning a table saw and I am a very young 76 year old retiree. I took my computer out to the garage and assembled the saw as I watched your step by step instruction. The assembly manual is still in the bag. Great job in explaining all the steps. My first order to build is from my wife who wants me to build a corn hole game before all our kids and grand kids come home for the 4th of July. Thanks again. Ken

Great video, I pretty much followed right along and didn't even open the manual! A lot of manual leave part of the assembly up to interpretation, sometimes forcing you to try something one way, only to have to take it apart and flip a part over several steps later, when things don't line up correctly. This video saved me a ton of time. Thanks!!
Like others, I found this video to be extremely helpful. Just bought my Dewalt today, 4/26/2023, and this saved me a bunch of time and removed a bunch of doubt as to how to proceed. Haven’t turned it on, yet, but it’s assembled and calibrated. Table was dead flat as best I could tell, btw. No issues.

I couldn't figure out the whole thing with the washers for the wheels being on the screws already and I am glad I found this video to actually answer the question about it they are the correct ones

Thanks for your help, I'm glad I was able to put it together, this is my first time using this table saw.
I upgraded to this saw from a rinkydink, Craigslist Craftsman which constantly had me in fear of losing a limb or rib. This saw blew me away with its power and the ease with which I could rip lumber.
The reason I went with this saw was the rack and pinion fence, however it is because of the fence I received that this set is going back. The two known issues with no real fixes for the fence are related to aligning it perpendicular to the table. If the fence is leaning away from the blade, the workaround I've seen is adding a shim to the back of the fence. Now if the fence is leaning towards the blade, like the one I received, you're out of luck. I looked everywhere for a solution but found none and decided to exchange this for another set which, I'm hoping, has no issues.

Watched this video before I bought the saw a few weeks ago and today I bought it and like you said the instructions were not that great. I watched your video again since I had the 2 little screws left over and was wondering where they went haha they were for joining the two half's of the stand together (watching you do it found that out ...thank you) and saved me time going through the owners manual for how to store the wrenches and rifing knife. Great video, you did a nice job explaining everything.

Thanks for the video. I like your table in the background also. I've been planning to buy this saw for a few years now, may spring for it soon as I have to build a set of stairs for a friend and I could use a portable table saw.
Great video! There are adjustable stops at 90 and 45 that are really easy to use. If your top isn’t perfectly flat I would 90 on the right side of the blade versus the left as this is where your material will typically be. Obviously better if it’s perfect but it is a job site saw.

A+ video! Read the reviews and bought the saw. I intentionally left the assembly instructions in the box and assembled the saw stand and mounted the saw in a half hour. This saw exceeded my expectations and I didn't use a caliper or micrometer to measure the radial runout or deck flatness.. im not building a spaceship or piano with this saw. I bought this saw to install an elevator in my outhouse and build homes in general.😊.

I’m literally putting my saw together watching your video. It may seem strange but the flat side of the wheel hub appears to go to the inside. It fits the tube perfectly. Virtually no wobble happens with it assembled this way. Thank you for doing the video. You’re right the manual is bad. 😆

I've had one of these for six years. For five of those six years, it was very accurate. But evidently something fell on it while it was folded, and now the whole thing needs to be realigned. This gave me some insight into how it goes together.

Great video. Worked me through the process successfully, thank you. One tip I'd offer. The push button to activate the blade, instead of suggesting a place for a padlock over that switch, it is meant to store the allen wrench supplied with the saw, it fits perfectly!

Thanks for the video on setting up and checking the Dewalt. You pointed out a few things I would not have checked. I also noticed my new saw was not packaged with styrofoam padding on the side of the saw as shown in your video. Time to check mine out closely.
Mine didn't have the styrofoam either, but had cardboard spacers. It was all good though because the other boxes, etc, were designed to protect the saw.

This is a text book perfect video. It is an example of how a review should be done. I have a table saw on back order and its a King Canada. Have not got it yet.
However I am checking out videos on all types. One must for me is one with a stand on wheels. In my mind I envisioned assembling the stand and then how am I a 76 year old weakling going to lift a 70 lb table saw on top of the stand. However from this video one builds the stand and then attaches the stand to the table saw still on the ground and then easily with stand lift it up. What a great idea.

You can adjust the yellow plate with the 4 screws to prevent it rocking back and forward.
