Great jacket and it looked perfect on you! The mushroom is very interesting and would look good in your living room, somewhere. Glad you picked up Teddy.
I chuckled when you pulled out the Teddy Ruxpin at the end of the video. Your joy is infectious (in a good way) Thanks for taking us on your adventures
Love Teddy! I found one in my mom's closet that she purchased as a backup since I was hard on mine. He was brand new, in the box with cassettes and books. I also found my Grubby. I totally opened it and let me kids play with it. I couldn't bear (😉) to let him stay locked up!
I saw a few VHS tapes I want, but that Teddy Ruxpin bear is so awesome. I always wanted one as a kid and now as a adult I still want one to put in my game room. I have something from the 80's and I'm still looking for more.
A friend over Thanksgiving helped cleaned out her Great Aunts house. She had an attic loaded with vintage Christmas. She took a tree, decorations, and things to put under the tree. She gave me a 1950s angel that was a package tie on. She gave me 3 carolers two girls and a boy. I had had a set like that when I was young and they got destroyed when the tree fell over.
I so enjoyed this video and going to the thrift store with you....the toys so bring back memories...Merry Christmas to you and yours and may your new year ahead be blessed.
Ooo Renee, I hope you went through those toy bags again! There were more Polly Pockets! If they have their dolls they can be quite valuable. I love the large pink heart one - the castle is so so cute.
Kids loved him so much that he became the best selling toy in America between 1985-1986, and kids today still enjoy playing with the newer Teddy Ruxpin models. However, if you're looking to buy one of the original bears today, you will likely be spending around $400. You did GREAT!
The Polly Pockets look like what my daughter had in the mid 90s. The doll is about 1 inch tall and we phoned Mattel a couple of times to get replacement dolls as she kept looking them. I tucked them away and still have them for when she has kids, I'll give it to them, from Grandma.
Great shopping trip! It gave me a few blasts from the past! The mushroom was from my Junior year of high school, which was the year I have the best memories of. And Teddy Ruxpin reminded me of the years my two older girls were toddlers and he was a fixture in our house! I am pretty sure we passed him on later to some younger kids and regretted doing that since I ended up having my 3rd daughter several years later and she would have loved him as well! I also recently found in my basement several of the Polly Pockets like you got left over from my girls and those brought back good memories as well! The Teddy Ruxpin that you found is in remarkable condition! He should bring a pretty penny in when you are ready to part with him!
Great haul...they closed our Salvation Store here...I drove past one day and then I saw the sign CLOSED OUR DOORS. I had a Teddy R...but didn't work anymore.
Hello. PaperandMoose. You are the sweetest person I have seen. You get the most beautiful toys from the flea market. Nice haul, and the close looked nice too. All the things look really nice. God Bless you. TeddyRuxpin is one that I do remember from my childhood as well. Happy Holiday's. Thank you for being you. Keep up the good work. Love the video. Maria.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey yah Miss. P. Moose, man, you truly are a child of the 1980's... those toys say it all! also can we meet your Mom sometime soon? She seems very cool to still have your toys at her place.
So happy for you! My kids didn’t have a Teddy (little too expensive for us at the time) but they do have treasured toys. My daughter absolutely loved Polly Pockets! Now my twin granddaughters do. I have all of them here and to be play with them, my daughter extracted many promises not to lose any. I’m fairly certain they had to sign a contract (in blood!). 😉 I will be watching for video of what you have and especially watching for your putting them on your sale site. Sometimes thrift stores give us great treasures!
Every time I fill a few bags of clothing or housewares and take it to the thrift store, I buy one thing for myself. I am getting rid of so much stuff I don't need. Tina
I am a ceramics artist from Australia so I love the mushroom by Joan, 1977. Joan has hand built this and glazed the room in a white gloss underglaze with splashes of bright colour. Thanks for buying this and showing your good will haul. Cheers

What fun! Some great deals there. I was a bit older when Teddy was on the scene, he reminds me of the bear in the AI movie. Maybe he IS the bear in that movie? He looks great. I had a bear when young that had red & white striped night cap, think I had loved the stuffing right out of him. Still wish I had him. Again thanks for the great thoughts you bring to my mind. 👍👍

I remember having the little rain costume and my hands were so little I put the boots on my fists and pretended like they were boxing gloves LOL Excellent haul Renee! Merry Christmas to you!

When my daughter was very young, we bought the T.R. phone which would make her upset because whoever the voice was talking, they would ask her what sound does a zebra make...? She didn't know it sounded like a squeaky animal very unlike a horse. Both her kids played with it and broke the guts, but the shell is still in one piece with the box!
Those inner buttons that seem to be there for no reason on the military jacket are for an amazing inner liner. The official military name is "Liner, Cold Weather Coat". Think of the combo in sleeping bag terms as they sell cold weather sleeping bags that are rated for 40 degree weather and then there are the Zero degree sleeping bags. I was going to add a picture of the label, but don't think I can. I just happen to have a small.
